- In this episode of the classic CBS slot machine show, champion Isa Krino is one win away from breaking the $5,000+ Joker's Jackpot. Will she succeed?
Also in this show is a blatant error with the slot machine about 15 minutes in which I'm very surprised they left in - which by the way, goes unacknowledged as far as I can tell. See if you can tell what exactly happened.

At 15:23 the wheels were not changed from the "Jokers and Devils" game to the main game, which caused a technical error as there were to be only five different categories and one Joker in all three slide projector modification windows on "The Joker's Wild" and not all Jokers and Devils as a category. But this was changed in 1973, when the word "Joker" replaced the word "Wild" in the "Jokers and Devils" game to avert this confusion on "The Joker's Wild" when this change was immediately made.
Oh my god, the agony of defeat by Isa Krino, this is a great 1972 Joker's Wild game show!
Marc Summers was a CBS page?? Thanks for the upload. CBS daytime was HOT back then.
R.I.P. Jack Barry
Thanks for the memorable episode! 👍
I’m pretty sure Bill won the jackpot on the next show. I used to have these episodes on VHS tape. Thanks for posting this one 👍
Isa was so close I can definitely tell that she was about to go into tears.
Aww! Isa wanted to win that game badly, I feel bad for her!
18:27 That will come to CBS eleven years from now.
Captain Bill Lawrence was also on Now You See It in 1974.
This is why the champion and challenger seats were swapped later on.
This was the reason the bonus round jokers changed from saying "wild" to "joker"
"From cbc television-city studio# 21 in millerville-city luzerne-county ioml this is the game where knowledge is king & lady-luck is queen it's the joker's wild & now here's your host jack-barry" 🇺🇸📺🎤🤔🎥.
Looks like the slides were not changed from the bonus game to the main game with the categories..
You're right...They weren't. One would assume the stagehands forgot to replace the "Bonus Game" projectors with the projectors with categories and Jokers. I would assume that someone behind the board would profess their error to Jack, after the female challenger lost the game, as CBS Standards & Practices (S&P) would be on his 'rear end,' if the problem wasn't rectified. One would safely assume, the lady was brought back due to that glaring production error.
To prevent this from happening again. The words "Wild" on the bonus wheels were later changed to "Joker".
Is that the Isa Crino who co-starred with Sidney Poitier in 1963's classic "Lilies Of The Field"? She played Sister Agnes.
So the devil round debuted in Nov. 1972
"My fantasy@ home with greg-winslow john david miller & his invisible-troupe inside the abandoned acme-market on route-61 in shamokin land-of messopotamia northumberland-county ioml" 🇺🇸🤠📻.
Was that really Jack Barry announcing at the beginning of the episode?
I think it was Roy Rowan
@@johnfenner5550 It was Roy Rowan. They had several substitute announcers for Johnny Jacobs, including Johnny Gilbert, Fred Foy, and, at the last minute, then-CBS Page Marc Summers. Marc informed me once, on FB, that Mr. Jacobs was not a nice man, whom got him 'canned,' due to a false rumor spread about him.
Marc fucked with Jack Barry, that’s why he was fired. You don’t fuck with Jack!
I find the item about Johnny Jacobs hard to believe. Not only was Jacobs an excellent announcer, he was highly regarded by those who worked with him, including Jack Barry, Bob Eubanks, and Chuck Barris.
@@johnfenner5550 Then oddly enough, the "This program was edited for broadcast" (15:24 has some pretty obvious cuts/edits) was voiced by Johnny Jacobs
I'm guessing Isa didn't win any prizes in the bonus round?
I’m looking for my Mom’s episodes. Her name was Linda.
She keeps the prizes
@@TomCurtis-t2r No, Jack said there'd be some consolation prizes for her backstage... in addition, her $1,250 in cash goes into the Joker's Jackpot... so she didn't win any prizes in her bonus rounds.
I think she lost the prizes to the devil
I NEVER BEEN TO HAWAII
Haven’t seen that much rigging since Twenty-One.
I don't think it was intentional, otherwise "TJW" would be instantly taken off the air. It was just an honest, but glaring, technical error that was silently acknowledged backstage, after her loss, and, in the spirit of fairness, was brought back on a future show. As this was Jack's first 'big' game show since the scandals, he knew full, and well, that CBS S&P would scrutinize TJW's production, especially in the first 13 weeks of the series.
Here's what aired in primetime:
