      Yeah their reasons for not doing so until now were idiotic. Apparently the reason was the risk of head on collision at level crossings. But how many head on level crossing collisions are you aware of on this stretch of track in say, the past 50 years?

    0:37: One moment. Seriously in the trailer car with a cabin has a small engine? I ask because you can see a little brownish stain on the part of the ceiling where there is a kind of leak.

    That weird control car would never make it to Auckland on time because the Loco is too heavy 😂

    It is interesting what you can do with rebuilt and rehash 1970's built British Rail Mark 2 carriages being pushed/pulled be 40 odd year locomotive on a predominantly rail freight network, that is only 36% utilized across the country :(

      @@chrismckellar9350 I think those carriages were actually more built in the 1960's.
      I agree; they're not bad at all. Certainly better than nothing, or the old 1940's 56ft carriages that I had to tolerate taking right into the year 2001

      @@danieleyre8913 - The the BR Mark 2 carriages that are in NZ, were built between 1971 to 1975 by BREL at the Derby Litchurch Lane Works UK. New Zealand received 150 carriages in 1998 and refurbished at Hillside and Hutt workshops.
