Nice demonstration Anthony. Bushings are some of my favorite router accessories. I do a lot of template routing, and while flush trim and pattern bits do their job very well, they're more expensive than simple straight bits.
The regular top mounted flush trim bits just aren’t as clean a cut or on the plunge. There’s much more surface area on the bushings than there is on a bearing of a flush trim router bit, they’re much more stable and accurate in my opinion of course, but I’ve also had a lot of experience and success with this method on my other templates. It’s a matter of trial and error and finding what you like best. I can give you my honest opinion and true experiences. They may not feel right for everyone else but not everyone is the same.

Fantastic video Anthony, thanks so much for the information and taking the time to produce all of the content that you make.
Never used these bushings. What's the advantage over just using a flush trim bit?
