    THANK YOU! The directions that came with the poles appear to be for something different entirely. If it weren't for this video, I would never have figured it out! THANKS

    Thank you so much. I don’t know why I was struggling to engage the Slide Lock. It’s so intuitive!

    Thanks for taking the time to post this video. The written instructions on how to assemble these poles that BD includes are poor, and I would never have figured it out without your video.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been struggling to collapse these poles and did not know the trick of pulling up and sliding. Yay!

    Hi Becky, nice presentation:) I love these poles for lightweight backpacking. The aluminium construction is sturdy and forgiving when you get them stuck between rocks!! A "heads-up" - I hike internationally and am finding that most airlines require hiking poles be packed in your checked luggage. If you change airlines during a trip you could get caught out if you carry-on only. Happy and safe hiking.

    I was so annoyed with the instructions that still appear to be for another type pole. Thank you. It's so much simpler.

    Agree with other comments! These are great poles, but the Chinese type instructions are super confusing... maybe write and print instructions in USA... I'll be happy to help....

    Do they click when you use them?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Před 3 lety

      Hi Nicholas, are you referring to a click when the pole strikes the ground? That depends a bit on the surface on which they are used. The carbide tip will click against hard surfaces, but you can put on the rubber tech tips for a quieter stride.

    Fixed length noo 😔 so I cant adjust 140cm between hiking and for tents?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment! Black Diamond does indeed make an adjustable version of this style, called the Distance FLZ. You can find a review video of those here: czcams.com/video/yNUy2XTizZQ/video.html

      @@Enwild oh 👌🏽 I like ur reviews, perfect amount of talking 🙌🏽 You dont happen to have review on good fast hiking backpacks were the cheststrap NOT are straight on the boobs, like more almost on the keybone instead- having real problem with this.. 😅

      Hi there! Ultimate Direction makes a FastpackHER for women, and though the sternum straps are straight across, they can be moved up and down along the harness to find the proper location for each wearer: www.enwild.com/ultimate-direction-womens-fastpackher-30-2021.html

      Agreed. I bought a second hand pair and figured I’d be ok knowing I’m just a cm taller than the suggested heigh (only ‘suggested’, so figured there would be some margin for error). No adjustment whatsoever and these poles would still be ridiculously short if I was a cm shorter as well.

  • @rob2010maldonado
    @rob2010maldonado Před 3 lety

    Yeah, so my pair literally bent 90° while fully extended the other day as I nearly fell….. my face would’ve met Mr. Rock.

    The engineers screwed up on the necessary tolerances, apparently the straps on BD poles have been breaking for years.
    Think about the myriad technological advances in mountain sports equipment made by BD engineers over the last few decades. Now ask yourself how it is possible that BD engineers cannot design a little pole strap that will not break. I wonder how many thousands of hours of BD customer's time has been wasted because the designers of a BD pole did not determine appropriate tolerances for a pole strap.

    Like everyone else, thanks for the video as the instructions are horrible.
