  • Carburetors tuned finally! | 2 x webers | Volvo 145 | I have had some issues with tuning. I just installed the air fuel gauge and the job was now much easier. Now my both webers works nice.

Great to see another video again, Hans.
Camshafts are known to wear. Maybe you can measure the hight of the rockers without taking the cam out. Or a difference between nr4 and 3/2

Solved the problem. Maybe air leak. I'll do a video about it.

Spray a little bit of brake cleaner between the carb and manifold and also the manifold to the head to see if it the car accelerates if it does there is a vacuum leak and the gasket needs to be replaced. Also check compression on piston #4

Thanks. Compression was ok. And now I actually solved the problem. I'll do a video about it. I switched the carbs and rethighten. Maybe air leak. Not all 4 are hot.

we tried to syncro the 2 carbs but now i need to see the fuel screws cause i dont think i did progress in that.. need to buy a laser thermometer too and adjust the distributor for higher changes,, might work better in my 4ag keep up mister . the pleasure as it gets better is sweet

    Shorter runner means more heat.

Its all about air intake. You have to messure every cylinder and adjust it to the lowest reading. Its all about air, big volym sucking more air, small engine dont do a lot off sucking air into the engine. So changing carburettors for performans is a big missunderstanding. Problery the orginal Strombergs is more balanced to that engine and will performe mutch better than those Weber will wver do.

Well said. These are not easy carburettors. Especially beginners like me. This is a little bit old video but I still have some air leak issues. I will replace the gasgets between carb and manifolds. I hope this will help a little bit. I will use these webers in my new b20 engine. czcams.com/video/FKlLaO22PDE/video.html

Not sure about webers Hans but SUs and Strombergs I set them about 13 to 13.4:1 at idle. They idle nice in that range and also stops the mixture going lean when driving and changing gear.

I think I still have some air leaks. I will change the gaskets between carbs and intake manifolds.

@@hanssgarage1886 Good stuff. It doesn't take much of a leak to make the engine idle poorly.

@@MrBelly1971 Thanks. Those gasket are like over 10 years old so they might leak a bit...😅

It could be the sprk no 4 are weak not strong. the boom sound from the exhause is misfiring that could be no 4.

It was air leak between carb and manifold. I think it is still leaking so I need to get new gaskets. They are quite old...

Have you tried spraying wd40 on the gasket between the carb and manifold to check for an air leak on #4?

In all honesty, I think you should hand over anything B20 or car-related to anyone who actually know what they are doing. Watching your videos is a pain. Its like you never opened a b20 before nor adjusted a couple of webers.

Thank you Ulf for comment and feed back.👍 This is actually my first time tuning webers or making a new engine (learning by doing). It’s always first time for everything. And yes, i’m using professionals time to time. These videos are not guides ”how to do” something. They are videoblogs from the garage. I have also channel in finnish and I get also positive comments and ask quite often comments for help & tips. 😉 I’m sorry if you don’t like my videos. I hope you haven’t watched my first videos. If watching the newer ones is a pain for you should leave the older ones alone. Back then I really didn’t know anything. 😊 And you are right I have still a lot to learn. 👍
