- Custom Venetian Plaster accent range hood.
In this video we bring you through the process of this custom accent range hood we did for one of our clients in Tampa.
It was made out of stucco and wood. They reached out to us and asked about Venetian plaster. We made them a sample and they contracted us for the job. It’s made with Marmorino KS in a subtle skip trowel. Check out the video and leave us a comment. -----------------------------

Hey, nice job! I apply Firenze plaster too and do a lot of range hoods. Always fun to watch others bust their ass while I am on the couch. Happy plastering and be safe on top of that ladder.

You can clean it with natural cleaners but not scrub ot

I’m curious what type of primer would you have used if you were doing this finish directly over wood or metal rather than the stucco?
I would use quartz primer or firenze primer. It has sand in it. Helps it grip. This works too tho.
Oil Base Primer Will Seal Wood And Oil Base DTM Primer Works On Metal!
I used the Benjamin Moore Step One Interior Latex Primer & Sealer for our hood fan project and plan to do a Venetian plaster. Do you know if this primer is not ideal to use?
Do you do any work in the Clermont Florida area or could recommend someone?
How long after you apply the sealer did you wait to buff??

Thank you. The primer is pro block latex primer
What sort of bonnet do you use on the buffer and do you use a polishing compound with it?
It’s a buffing pad like for a car. The sealer is soap stone then we buff that
What products did you use for the 3rd and 4th coats? Thank you!
Besides the first which is primer, I used marmorino ks for 1-2-3 steps then used soap stone sealer for the last. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Hi does the sealer change the colour at all? Darken it, make it a bit more yellow?
No it would be more like a wet look more then color change

What amounts of the different products did you use for this type of project?
I don’t remember how much but I think it was 5 kilos and Marmorino is and 1/4 liter of soap stone and maybe 1/2 gallon of primer.

What is the dimensions of this hood? Width?
I don’t remember the hood dimensions. They bought a vent underneath of it and built around it. I believe it was somewhere around 3-4 ft wide by 5-6 ft high. Are you still interested in the Venetian for the hood? I remember we spoke a while back but didn’t get a follow up from your builder, I believe it was.
How much does a range hood like this cost???
That range hood was about 1600$

I purchased a 36" wide x 42" tall Tuscan style range hood from archways and ceilings, also have the insert, just trying to figure out the cost to finish it like this and who to call for this type of work.
