WOW. Amazing performance. Obviously a Lecoultre. and probably from the eighteen thirties or forties. This small tabatiere actually sounds just as good as some earlier boxes. Thank you for sharing this fine instrument.
Many thanks for your interesting comment! When I played the Box after more than 20 years, I realized its high quality. Some damper noise, but good timing and tuning. I will correct the manufacturing date in the description, it's doubtless much older than I thought. And as one tune is the same as on the Box with sectional comb by F. Lecoultre, it is possible that he is also the maker of this one...
Hallo Rudi, ein schönes Spielwerk. Und es freut mich, dieses Mal dir beim Auflösen des 3. Musikstückes zu helfen. Es handelt sich um das irische Lied Robin Adair, komponiert von Charles Coffey.
In these miniature movements, the shaft of the endless screw is pressed downwards. That's why you never see a capstone at the top. There is usually a steel plate underneath the bedplate.
I love the lowest note. Beautiful.
😂🎉
Lieber Hans-Jürgen, ganz herzlichen Dank! Eine Hand wäscht die andere...
First tune played is named "He is mine" on the similar box I have.
Thanks so much!
