- We are getting ready for twin turbos on Scrappy so we cut off the motor, extended the mount, reshaped the cowling, and added a whole bunch of things, check it out! Also...we are headed to Oshkosh! If you are going, stop by and shake my hand. I love meeting members of my aviation family. Check social media for appearance locations and times!

Hi all! As our channel grows so do the scammers. We will never reach out via telegram or messages via CZcams. Winners to any prizes or giveaways will always be contacted via phone or email. Please be vigilant and report any scammers! Thanks!
Thanks Mike.
LinusTechTips made a really good video about it and still constantly rants about how youtube seems to not fully care about it, he also has a really good video on how to fix it. its not a 100% solution but it is a temporary fix for the issue you have with bots, when you have the time I would highly recommend it
Thanks Mike. I recently got a Telegram “supposedly” by you, attached to that initial video about the Cessna’s engine inexplicably quitting. I made a legitimate comment.
It was the first time I’ve heard about telegram. I tried responding, and finally I figured out how to do it. He said I was lucky to be in the drawing. Now somehow the name “Andrew Simon” is linked to that telegram session. Hope this helps you some.
Thanks Mike for letting people be aware of these scammers. It comes through as you have won a prize text this number. I fell for it for a minute then figured it out.
Could done with this Monday. Figured out it was a Bot fairly fast. Put a warning out, and reported over 21 contacts by the same Bot.
My very first bot contact, I just tried my best. Though I had little idea.
This video could have been 2 hours and I would've watched every second. There was so much not shown but I imagine it was a ton of work. Great job ! 👊😎
I would agree, should do some more detail in these for us eng guys to drool more.
Agree 100%
100%!!!!
Yup 100%
💯
Loss of the NOS box truly sounds like divine intervention Mike. You don't loose anything!! Can't wait to see the turbos!!!
What features would you like on scrappy?
Mike: “yes, all of them”
I have honestly never seen or even met someone with so much talent, crazy what he is capable of
Watching you complete these builds is amazing.. But we would love to actually see you fly it, please share some flying videos. In cockpit, startup shutdown etc!!
Oh, MP never flies. He only builds ;->
@@rickkennerly2379 Sands. You mean sands. I swear he doesn't mold anything, he just sands the shapes into the materials
Thanks, Mike. These videos for me through a big part of the depression of COVID. And your passion for SAR moved me to get involved with Civil Air Patrol. Since scrappy started I’ve joined and gotten 3 ratings, and it was these videos that pushed me to do it. Thank you
You’re our family, too, Mike. Love you!
Well, my friend, not only are you getting better at building planes, but you're getting better as a husband too! Proud of you, Mike!
Blessings to you and your family!!!
I had a crazy dream that I was flying in Scrappy last night, and I get a video today 👍
Number 4 for the scamper treatment. Wtf is going on?
Not a pilot but this almost 75 year old enjoy every video you make. Missed a great opportunity when I was 16 in the Civil Air Patrol to go off for 4 weeks and get my solo license. Wanted to work and buy me a car that summer. Somebody kick my ass. Be safe and wishing you fair weather in your travels.
Next project: Let's get this channel to the million subscribers it deserves.
Missed this video until now, noticed scrappy had a longer snout this year at Oshkosh vs last year, cool to see the changes in person as well as behind the scenes!
Mike! It looked so natural I didnt even notice the changes at Osh! Then I see this video later in August. Well done, Amigo!
Mike, Good to see some content from You. We loved the Scrappy Build Series.
With all of Your business's running full tilt, I am surprised that You made the time
to give us an update. Happy that You did ! What ever You want to publish, I'll watch it.
family is important, glad you got to spend the road trip with them. we know you are so busy in life and love the short updates, but really do miss the more in depth build videos
You were blessed with great tallent and what is wonderful is the way you use it. Thank you for sharing.
Mike Patey I know you’ve been tempted at times to install a turbo prop in Scrappy and I think it have been really exciting to see how Scrappy performed with a Turboprop. I believe you’ve made the right choice staying with a conventional engine, even though there isn’t really anything conventional about that 780 however a Turboprop isn’t within everyone’s budget and a bigger piston driven engine is. So many people have installed LS based engines into their airplanes
Thanks for the great content and I can’t wait for the next build. Draco X
When a man has a Sawzall and is cutting on a plane, you know he knows what he's doing and has some big big plans!
Usually a Sawzall is used when the airplane is going to be trucked somewhere for a static display. Kudo's to Mike Patey for getting right on the new engine mount moving the CG forward for a better loading envelope. 🤑🤠👍
Hanging around with Cleetus does give one a desire for twin turbos! The longer nose looks Awsome!
Mike, you are probably one of the few people in the world that could ‘improve on perfection,’ but you did it - again! I’m so glad you were able to resolve the weight and balance issues you mentioned and Scrappy looks awesome! By the way, your house and pool is looking pretty spectacular as well, WOW!
Mike, you're very important to even none aviation people. We need more content, please.
My favorite man on this earth. Mike party. The party brothers are awesome. The whole family is. Oshkosh is coming up boys
Mike is an icon of brains, hard work and enthusiasm. He is also an unreliable content creator. Sorry Mike. I loved his video on Draco and Scrappy. So amazing! But just as he was finishing the second plane he dropped off the face of the earth. We barely saw it fly. I know the man does more than 5 of me could. So, will I get on board for another build? As much as I would love it I am not keen to wait around for the next time he vanishes. It hurts too much (ha ha). Of course I still want to BE him and I marvel at his genius.
NOW plenty of room for the PT-6
Mike Patey. He stands on his work.
Turbo Scrappy! Just when you thought Mike built the ultimate bush plane... he goes and makes it even better!
I'm thinking that the only reason that Mike didn't just go ahead and put a turbo-prop in Scrappy is that he wants to be able to offload fuel to his buddies planes.
Family is important ,I hope you guys have a wonderful time driving to Oshkosh.
The whole world should know about this guy. There ought to be a Nobel Prize or something for what Mike does.
I wish you would explain to us a little or show us what Engine Mount did and how it was lengthened or changed after it was cut again. Thank you for all the episodes you provide, which contain a lot of challenges, fatigue, and science. I wish you and your family safety from overseas.
Tell CAD to add 10.000" here 👈
I thought he did a great job. He explained everything. As for the motor mount. He didn't actually modify it. He threw it out and made a new one. You don't get to randomly splice a motor mount.
@@tireballastserviceofflorid7771 For sure but it would have been great to have that in the video.
I'm sure he'll show all of that in the video where he adds the turbos.
I'm really glad Scrappy is growing up and won't be a bottle baby anymore.
Great new look for Scrappy but most importantly savor and enjoy that sweet family time!!!!!!!
One of the big issues we have in our area is”Northern California “ is the lack of DPE’s. And diverse availability on what they can check ride for. You guys would make excellent DPE’s. Build them all.
Your every day is better then our vacations can’t imagine how cool your vacations must be.
@9:20 “I've often gone to a Bed Bath and Beyond and found some plastic part to start a mold for something completely different”.
I though I was the only one who did stuff like that. 😁 Sometimes I'd even buy an item just because the plastic packaging was the right shape. I was wandering around a store searching for the exact right thing and an associate asked what I'm looking for. I replied, “inspiration”! 😎
Gatorade should sponsor you and revamp their old campaign because "I wanna be like Mike!" You are so inspiring!
Mike, perfect change @ 11:47 to decent music, those nasty guitar riffs early on reminded me of those car build shows where the project was being rushed because they do not teach anything it's all about the fake drama. Back to Coffee!
I’m so excited to finally see this in person! I’ve watched the build from the beginning. My new job is taking me to Oshkosh and I couldn’t be more stoked!
I just found your channel. I have no idea what you are talking about but you talk about it so passionately I am almost compelled to watch. You may be the coolest nerd in the world. I love it.
Bless ya brother, wife and family FIRST!
Now you have it right.
Grandpa Ted here!
As someone involved with operations and maintenance, super happy to see access panels to allow ease of maintenance! And I know I speak for others, too, just want to say what an inspiration you have been to me personally. I consider you one of our national treasures. Thank you for the videos and for allowing us to be a part of your inventive process.
Super as usual. Thank You for sharing !! H.
You just absolutely cannot leave well enough alone. And I freaking LOVE IT!!! I so cannot wait to see this when it’s done. Well , when it’s done again. LOL
I never get tired of you Mike. Keep my LAME passion alive. Thank you for being YOU!
Mike, I always amazed by your enthusiasm and ingenuity can not wait for your future videos. Enjoy Oshkosh together with your great family.
Safe travels.
Wow. Great update and just love the videos. Have a great time at Oshkosh.
He is back 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you, again, for all you and your family are doing for all of us 🌎
With love , 🇫🇷 😁🤗
Have a great time driving with your family. Hard work pays off!
Awesome NEW LOOK! and C-G Thanks for sharing.
Hmm, so an ironic idea. Build / get a trailer to tow Scrappy to events with your family.
Then you can build an assembly rig.
Have a great time at Oshkosh.
Great video, great project, great job.
You are a great lovely family working hard and sharing a lot. Thank you and congratulations!
Right on Mike. Great to see progress on the twin turbos. Scrappy looks great. Can't wait to see the turbo instal. Hope you all have a great time at Osh. Keep up the excellent work as always. Fly safe my friend. 🤘🇺🇸🛩️
Mike, always fun to see your ideas materialize. Great work, Ron. Thanks, Mrs. Patey, for sharing Mike.
🙋♂️ "Back to work!"
A GREAT LOOKING AIRPLANE ! THANK YOU ! MIKE P. , YOU DO ALOT OF WORK , ! !
Mike, there is no telling how many people you are influencing to do things right and even better. God bless you, my friend.
Mike, you are a complete NUTCASE! I love your insane over speced engineering and builds... and all you do!
Keep it those SICK projects going!
I’ve only watched 30 seconds when writing this, but unless you tell us how you’re going to make all these changes and still make Oshkosh, you’re just teasing us with not enough days before the biggest airshow in the world.
Don’t stop making amazing changes, just don’t be fucking late to Airventure again!!!
Challenge laid down. Please don’t disappoint. What Homer said, but with megadittos.
Nice that you are getting the family time in!
Can’t wait to the next build love your videos glad you were able to make this one, I wish that I still flew but after the brain surgery I don’t fly anymore but I sure do miss watching your videos at length I hope that you’re able to reengage with your busy schedule and get us some lengthy professorial and comical videos for the future… You’re always fun to watch and I love it..❤️❤️🙏🏻
❤️ Aviation
Need some nose art. I keep picturing a mongrel dog's head sticking its head out a car window so happy to have it's head in the wind.
Well Mike you must have got all your work done since Scrappy just showed up at Air Venture!!!!!!!!
Build video yes!!!! Glad you’re back making excellent build content! Have fun at Oshkosh!
You are an aviators aviator. Good to the plane and good to the family. A model to us all.🙂
Wow, enjoy your time with the family...
Mike, I sure wish there were a lot more guys like you. Thanks for all the great videos. Hey, it was SO COOL that you got to work with a couple other good guys, Matt (off road recovery) and D. Sparks. What a great team!! Best always.
Been missing these types of vids, always a pleasure watching you work and listening to your thought process!
Loving the new video style… it’s like all graduated from scrappy 101 and now we are all more advanced. 👍🏻
Supreme workmanship. What else can be said but wow.
This must have been filmed a while back. You're talking about Oshkosh like its not a week away lol
Its just Awesome. I'm sure I must be watching this channel most of the time with my mouth open! What Mike and his "family" achieve is just unbelievable. What they achieve in a year, is more than most of us achieve in a lifetime. Thank you guys for entertaining us, really appreciated.
You are the third who got this. It seems like a bot and a scam. I tried to warn people here, but they seem to have deleted my warning
Thanks for the video have a safe trip enjoy your family
Love it Mike. Keep up the great work!!
Can’t wait for Oshkosh now! Visiting from Australia and Oshkosh itself is on the bucket list but now to see you and scrappy both! Dream come true
Ill see you at Oshkosh cant wait to see you and scrappy there! You are a legend and inspiration in the aviation world!
Great to see an update on Scrappy! Awesome work, seems you are getting an awesome time at the Show. All the best from Sweden
You would be a fun guy to know and have as a friend. It's your energy. It's creative and radiant. Keep your videos coming! They're wonderful and very educational.
Great shop. Your innovations will be legendary.
Waow what a machine the DRACO was.... Incredible landings and take off 👍👍👍🏵️🌺💐💝🙏
Strong work mike, you never disappoint. Never stop innovating.
Great video Mike! You and your family have fun enjoy being together ❤️
I went from horror to awesome watching the presentation. The standard of finishing is 2nd to none. Unbelievable.
Glad you're back, Hope to see you again sooner.
While I love the technical and scientific side of your videos, it is awesome to see your family priorities are just as important. It is so easy to get lost in work, projects and important things in our lives. It's great to see a hard working American and family man working at both! God bless!
Amazing work ! I don't think there is anything this man could not build if he wanted ! Incredible talent 👍👍
Mike you are just amazing ! 😊👍✨✨✨✨✨
Sooo glad to see more videos, please keep them coming
Looking forward to seeing you again Mike! Can’t wait to see scrappy too!
Oh man, so much going on in this video for it only to be one video! I / we love coming along for the process 😍
So much much respect to you.from Fairbanks, Alaska.
Scrappy keeps getting cooler all the time. You do amazing work.
Thanks for a reminder of what a magnificent beast Scrappy is. It just keeps getting better!
Looks so good with the extended nose. I can't wait to see the in depth videos on installing the twin turbo-superchargers
Nicely done Mike.
Sorry mike i left my phone in the rain and killed it. I was medically retired at 65 three years ago. I don't have enough strength to paraglide any more, but I still fly my rc planes. It is so gratifying to watch your videos and see your interest in building aircraft as close to scratch as possible. Wow when I see how scrappy was transformed into such a workhorse I couldn't believe my eyes. I hope some of my suggestions were of some use to you. I was devastated to see Droco rolled up in a ball. I was so glad to hear you were all OK. If you have plans to build something new I will be happy to give any suggestions on line. PS your friend in the air and on the ground Bill Campbell
Use a scoop from a Subaru WRX/STI for the top mount intercooler! I think Subaru works with SAR from time to time too.
it's good to see you again Mike.
Good wishes from İzmir/ Türkiye 🇹🇷
Amazing good dude with fantastic attitude and mad skillz.
Looks great. Watching all your videos has inspired me to finish my Private Pilots License and I am 67.
Mike it was great seeing Scrappy at Oshkosh, I took lots of photos, I just missed meeting you! maybe next year.
If you are looking to twin turbo scrappy, you need to look at the new electric brushless turbos. No turbo lag and less waisted space, not to mention lighter. Thanks for all the videos, I hope I was of some assistance.
Really great to see you fabricating again. Cheers
