Italian bureaucracy is a nightmare. You never want to have a problem there. The most unhelpful country that I have ever visited.

Sadly, my experience is not the most positive as well. Also I found the Italians to be poor listeners and just shout at you No or what you already know without letting you finish.
No offense to all my Italian friends 😂

It is completely uninderstandable why GNV did this, there is no such law in Tunisia, many tourists go to Tunisia in Airbnb without problem. Seems that Italy want to take tourists for itself with thoses unfair means. Just to let you know that you can go to Tunisia from Marseille, France, with a Tunisian ferry or a French one. You can buy your ticket directly in marseille after being sure about such shitty rules, probably not Tunisian rules.

Working now on the episode 2 of the escapade and you may be surprised! The Tunisian are immigration gave me so hard time and almost deported me during my 2nd attempt. They insisted on all the GNV said and more.
Italy imposed some rules and it seems Tunisian government just reciprocate, I don’t know.
One think you’re 100% right is the fact that the French route from Marseille is much easier than form Italy. Especially with the CTN operator.
I checked so many times with locals but it’s difficult to get correct info as well for foreign travelers.

What crazy rules with covid Now with the war in Ukraine there is no problem, after March 15 everything will return to normal, if will ever be "normal" again :))

Actually the things are staring already to return to "normal" in terms of COVID and travel to Tunisia.
From 1st of March Italy eased their regulations in terms of traveling to and from the countries on E list (Tunisia).
Tourism is now officially allowed and therefore there are no restrictions on the Italian side if you're vaccinated.
However both GNV and Grimaldi still mentions the hotel booking & return ticket due to Tunisian authorities. I can't verify at the moment changes as I'm not in Tunis but in Sahara :)
