And behind Brian, is Freddie's touring piano. I love hearing the truth from Brian and Roger- Yes we were nervous- I mean..who wouldn't be..Great interview, Great commentary on Freddie, -"At Wembley you needed to roar. And so they did! " Queen roared and took over Wembley. God Bless all the great music over the years..Thank you so much!
Sad. Freddie was already ill, not diagnosed yet, but ill, and he still had the best rock performance ever.. live aid, live magic. They all look back and realise what an effort this was for him. The best, always.
At Live Aid in 1985 he had a visible Kaposi’s lesion on his arm. And in an interview he had one on his face. I believe Mary said in an interview that he had told her then that he was told he had AIDS but then told her the first diagnosis was false; which of course it wasn’t.
Yess! I don't remember whether I heard that's on the radio because I was probably only 5 years old when they released it but it seems like I did because it didn't sound unfamiliar the first time I heard it when I was an adult that 51 years old. They were the best at Live Aid I've ever seen in my life!! That whole day I wished I could have seen them over and over again
There are only a couple of bands that could pull off a live rendition of their own songs and make the live renditions even sound much better than the studio versions and Queen is definitely one of those bands :D
It's been a long time I've forgot Queen and rock 'n roll for years.. since Fox launched this movie! I re-falled in love when Queen after Bohemian Rhapdosy again. It's been awesome to get back in 1986 an live Live Aid and Queen. a stunning music experience! I needed it! thanks Queen for existing!
They gave an amazing experience. During every concert. They were the best. They had a great connection. They loved each other. They knew each other musical taste. And they got along. Freddie was a perfectionist. If something had to be done that way. They had to. Cause freddie said it.
In the Lap of the Gods (...Revisited) as well as Seven Seas of Rhye are two of my favorite Queen songs and I'm so grateful they were played on Wembley that day.
Freddie was holding the public in.his hand. He was soooo sexy, electric, handsome, moved on the stage like a sooo elegant panther ...drove me crazy for years and still does. i am Sooo Lucky To have seen them twice on stage the same year in.1984 in brussels ... I miss him REALLY REALLY tooo much...He was wonderful, and the band so innovative, each of them sooo full of talent...they were really made To meet eachother and create the wonderful pieces they did during their all carreer...I am a fan since i am 12-13 And am now 52...a fan from the nearly beginning...and NO ONE can replace them and him. He was the best performer ever...He was a wonderful voice, sweet, tender, deep, warm...gave me goosebumps...and the way he moved on stage : the fire in a body !! The best Mr Bad Guy 😥😥😥💔💕💖 miss him...
christine Gallois I totally agree with you. You get a rush of adrenaline when he sings. My, word, he was the most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my life. He was “PERFECT”. Friend me onI Facebook if you can. I’m JA Hensley, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Geez, I miss him. I understand what the genius of Freddie was such a loss of a good man. God rest his soul. He was the Champion with no doubt. His vocals were overwhelming beautiful.
I love your description moved on stage like an elegant panther - you nailed it 😍. He was very sexy, but there was that power & naughty school boy sense of fun. What a combination - and to finish you off - that astoundingly beautiful voice. Still my favourite voice in all the world
Thank you for this amazing video!! Love to hear Roger and Brian talk about the concert!! And of course to watch Freddie do his part❤️💛. Watching them going up the steps and imagining how they all felt is so wonderful!! Oh Freddie was just outstanding!!
Unici e inimitabili.
Queen is the only band I know of where their live versions are better than their studio versions. Their stage performances leave you stunned and screaming for more! The best rock and roll band ever!
I believe Bri is being interviewed at his estate, in what he calls the 'Romance' room. I also believe that is Freddies piano that he is sitting at. The one that went on the tours all over the world with Queen. Bri is a very nostalgic guy!
3:55 Roger: "Basically blind and deafem' in the first 10 minutes...uhmm...while they're recovering from that, slip a few not-quite-so-good ones in..." LOL!
When I became interested more deeply in Queen about 1,5 years ago, this was among the first interviews I watched. When I heard that line, I thought that I totally get what he meant, as I used to listen to many different types of music and many bands/artists have a couple of songs that I like, but then also lots of songs that are a bit boring to me. Of course I thought it would be similar with Queen. Oh boy, was I in for a surprise! I never thought that I would ever find a band by which I would love almost EVERYTHING from beginning to end! Alright, there are about 1-2 songs on every album that I don't really care for (but even those aren't really bad), but they could easily do at least two concerts in a row without having to play a single "not-quite-so-good" song!!! Today, I consider myself a die-hard fan. I think it was a life-changing experience really. Music is on a whole different level for me since.
Queen was incredible at Wembley. Duran Duran took Queens Arena Style music and performance and they put on a heck of a concert when I saw them in Roanoke, Virginia in Feb 1984. I had seen Van Halen the month before and they put on a really good show but Duran Duran was better and I think it had a lot to do with Duran Duran taking a lot of Queen's advice about how to give a performance.
Thank goodness for CZcams!!! Just love hearing about and seeing all the background that went into this amazing group’s performances. I can’t think of another band where I mostly prefer their live performances over their recordings. Brian talks about how they knew each other so well and you can definitely tell. Oh how I wish I’d had the opportunity to see Queen perform when Freddie was still alive!!
Roger was 100% right when he said the live version of many of their songs would end up a bit faster, with a huge ending. I think they were the best at actually making songs better on stage. "It's a kind of Magic" sounded great. Another song that was very different on stage, but better, was "I want to break free". It was faster, without all the synthesizer sounds the record had, and it was more kick ass rock & roll.
"Now I'm here" is also very much in that category. When you haven't listened to live-versions for a while, it really kicks ass on the record, but after listening to it live, the original suddenly seems VERY slow. :-)
Great nostalgia Brian, with your dad, cup finals and sir Stanley Matthew’s (stoke legend) . The one vision intro, the best power ripping start to a rock gig of all TIME 💪💪💪💪💪🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎😎😎😎😎😎💣💣💣💣💣💣💣never yet to ever been beaten...and probably never will.. yes lap of the gods is live ... joy to on your ears 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️queen kings of the universe 💫
I just bold my eyes oh hearing his life until death the 100th time in d in three weeks it never fails he melts your heart every time why could of they had a cure to save our kingheart breaking

RAGAZZI APPENA LI VEDETE SENTITE "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN STOP ME AND SPEED IN MY EYES"...
Freddie's face in that split second is so shocked and funny to freeze on. You need to calm down and get some fried chicken as they say in their making of their "One Vision" video, don't take them so seriously. Their the best band ever. Not because they're serious, because they have incredibly different characters.
OMG Brian, you were better than"damned good" Queen were outstanding by 1986. The Wembley 1986 concert on Saturday has to be the best live performance by Queen ever. We are so fortunate to have it on DVD. Each of you were outstanding individually and as a whole. Queen's ability to make their songs something special live was uncanny. With some bands one can barely make out what the live performance is supposed to be. Not Queen! Their live performances were every bit as good as the studio recording - mainly because each member of Queen gave it their all and it was the Queen sound.
I love Brian saying “we knew each other so well that we could pick up” if someone else changed tempo or anything
4 incredible musicians and artists; THE band of the 70s and 80s.
A very good band indeed but no the cure
And behind Brian, is Freddie's touring piano. I love hearing the truth from Brian and Roger- Yes we were nervous- I mean..who wouldn't be..Great interview, Great commentary on Freddie, -"At Wembley you needed to roar. And so they did! Sad. Freddie was already ill, not diagnosed yet, but ill, and he still had the best rock performance ever.. live aid, live magic. They all look back and realise what an effort this was for him. The best, always.
alina vestemean Yet he never looked better.😢❤️
Agree with you
At Live Aid in 1985 he had a visible Kaposi’s lesion on his arm. And in an interview he had one on his face. I believe Mary said in an interview that he had told her then that he was told he had AIDS but then told her the first diagnosis was false; which of course it wasn’t.
1986. Freddie at his best. Nothing seemed to announce what followed. For us all, he will be the Freddie at Live Aid and Magic Tour.
And so much more!
So glad I came though the 70s when queen were around with their first song. Keep yourself alive.
Yess! I don't remember whether I heard that's on the radio because I was probably only 5 years old when they released it but it seems like I did because it didn't sound unfamiliar the first time I heard it when I was an adult that 51 years old. It is Queen what else do you need to say . 4 of the greatest musican put together!!!
Penni Oltheten Amen. Well said.
Amazing ! So powerful and wonderful ! My favorite band for ever and ever. QUEEN : the Greatest band ever. 4 genius ! Magic QUEEN
Freddie Mercury the Mozart of the modern age!
They gave an amazing experience. During every concert. They were the best. They had a great connection. They loved each other. They knew each other musical taste. And they got along. Freddie was a perfectionist. If something had to be done that way. They had to. Cause freddie said it.
I listen to Freddy every day I can't go a day hearing is sweet voice
Agree with you. Janik from France. Freddie was the lead singer, ok. But at the matter of fact he was the real big boss
In the Lap of the Gods (...Revisited) as well as Seven Seas of Rhye are two of my favorite Queen songs and I'm so grateful they were played on Wembley that day.
CrazyChemistPL me too.
Love this insight from Brian and Roger. Awesome band.
Roger is one of the hottest... and talented Drummer of music industry..

Brian May, you are a remarkable man! Your comentary was so terrific in this video.

Queen is my all time favorite. All their music and videos are extremely entertaining as well as unique.
Queen are my all-time favorite!!! ❤️❤️❤️ every musician is a genius💕💕
Queen is my favourite band of all time, I mean, the best frontman, a great guitarist, amazing drummer and a fantastic bass guitarist.
All legendary ❣
They were living in a time when people in the band had to know their instruments.
My fav too - they were/are all quite exceptional
@wildcatter63 I didn't specifically mention the voice because it's an instrument like any other but of course you are right.
Amazing band. QUEEN FOREVER AND EVER ! 😻😻😻😿😿❤❤❤
they made history,it's been 30yrs😊😊😊
fin da quando avevo 8 anni ascoltavo i queen perche' li ascoltava mio padre.

I get an adrenaline rush just watching them go out on the stage lol
The concert begins at 3:30, a moment of pure magic. My soul opens in that moment.
So amazing band ! I do love this Magic Band : QUEEN FOREVER AND EVER
Under pressure the best song ever, course all of them were!

I love Roger saying about Wembley, I’ve seen people die there. But Freddie had a roar and could work that crowd.

Me too, CZcams is just wonderful. On a rainy day sit at the computer and play Queen and Freddie all day long, singing my heart out.

Brian May sort of still has the Pre-Raphaelite model at this point in his life. Makes me smile!
parkviewmo pre-raphaelite?
Grazie mille per tutti i tuoi video!!!!! ;)) QUEEN FOREVER!!!! \m/
Love this, thanks for uploading!
thank you for sharing.
Brian May is just so introspective, I didn't expect that out of a rock star, or at least, most of them just don't seem so.
Never gets boring.
Quante emizioni quanta gioia. Irripetibili
Sempre Queen ! sempre eterni .

brian, what a great coat you had on...everybody decked out
how wonderful to see this footage...thank you
it's funny because Roger kind of "pranked" Freddie. it's how they improvise that makes them a great performing band and you see their cohesiveness as friends this way.
i love them.
thats right. this is the best music compotitions i've heared. today , i mean the today music need more body, more escencies. More soul in the words. I don't know if you understand me. My english is'nt perfect.
