- Released in 1975, Born To Run was Bruce Springsteen‘s last-ditch attempt at stardom. A hemi powered vehicle to transport the New Jersey musician from Asbury Park to rock and roll immortality, and it worked.

Explore Bruce Springsteen‘s Born To Run (in 5 Minutes) | Liner Notes - Hudba
Whenever I hear the opening lines of Thunder Road, I always imagine an early evening in late summer, not morning.
I mean, I pretty much get that image on most Bruce Springsteen songs.
Agreed a early august as summer begins to wind down
"Born to run" is just so damn incredible.
I'd be honored if some classic rock fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal covers of 80s/90s standards on my channel. Covers include Prince, George Michael, Phil Collins, Elton John, GooGoo Dolls, Tom Petty, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, and John Mayer. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.
I love this album to bits, and “Thunder Road”, my absolute favorite song, is the first song I sent to my significant other when he said “I love you”- and it was hands-down the greatest moment of my life. My heart was beating out of my chest, and I will never forget that feeling. Whenever I listen to that song, I imagine us taking what’s beneath my car’s dirty hood and letting those 2 lanes take us anywhere.
To say the least, this song means a lot to me.
Dacooldragon aka Danny ... My absolute favorite song too, I remember hearing it for the 1st time and being able to picture the entire story because of the poetic lyrics, and how well the music fit them
The 1975 tour was pure magic . The 1978 tour was good , but the magic of E Street was the Born to Run tour . A young and hungry band , it was more than a show . He was singing for his life .
All small venues. Great for those who could get a ticket though!
Saw Springsteen at Carter Barron in DC. An astonishing evening and the best concert I have ever been to hands down.

What year did he play there?
Obviously a classic, iconic album. I own, geez, 3 or 4 copies of it. Shooting pool in a little town in Oregon, I glanced over to my left, at a mural someone hat created against a background of white bricks. It was Bruce and the Big Man from Born to Run. Only God knows how long that had been there.
Top 20 album of all time. No debate.
Top #1 album of all time for me.
Still prefer "E-Street Shuffle" but yeah, "Born to Run" is transcendent.
Joshua Stephens wild, innocent ,e street shuffle was his best album ever
David Argy wut ever heard of Sgt. Peppers?
Agreed with Frijolero and Mike. 'E street shuffle' was the better record, mainly because 'Incident on 57th Street' stands alone.
Meeting across the river is a little played gem.
The atmosphere it projects paints a picture clearer than any photo.
Magic from beginning to end, "Born to Run" was, is, and always will be my ALL-TIME favorite album. TY for this brief overview.
Sergej Lovrekovic reading the book made all his music that much more important to me, as if that was possible! What a writer
totally!
Bring this series back
Springsteen did not chuck the acetate into the hotel pool because he hated the album -- he hated the mix. Later he realized that had more to do with the cheap stereo he listened to it on than the actual production.
jrpipik love that story. There's only one Bruce
Tbh I’ve always thought the mix of that song in particular sounded weird, it’s such an incredible song but something about the mix sounds kinda tinny. Especially with so much going on
Does anyone know what swimming pool that was and where it was? That pool could rightly claim a spot in R&R history.
@@joezagorski9949 I think I read about it in Dave Marsh's book. If I recall correctly, it was in Richmond, Virginia.
Song after song, album after album Bruce writes catchy tunes that tell stories that have an importance, a gravitas that few other popular musicians even attempt. Wonderful Genius! In a interview He said that more than riches, or fame, He wanted to be great. He is! Dive in deep!
I'm impressed by the selection of photos you found for this! Quite a number were new to me.
Been following the boss since April of 1974 inspired me to pick up the harmonica been playing for 40 years now! every time I listen to his earlier work I still get that 19 year old bolt of lightning☇ running rite through to my soul!

Do Charles Manson's lie: the love and terror cult
If I could only play one album to someone who had never heard rock n roll before, just to show them what it is and what it could be, it would be " Born To Run ".The writing on that album alone is like nothing before it and nothing since.

Nebraska is better
I agree, but part of what makes Nebraska great is that it's by the same guy who did Born to Run.
Why can't I hear what everyone else hears in Springsteen? He seems like a great guy but I can't connect in any way with his music. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Let me guess....you never went to one of his concerts?
Oh god no! 4 hours watching a band I don't connect with or understand? I'm not trying to convince anyone that he sucks, I just don't get the appeal at all.
@@OhanaFilms His music is written for the stage. If you do not experience it there, you will never understand the extraordinary energy and warmth it exudes. I am sure we can all live with you not being a fan, but now you know what the attraction is.
If I can create the set list and limit the show to about 30 minutes, I'm in! If he sneaks in Tunnel of Love without telling me there's going to be a problem.
It can’t be the lyrics because that’s his forte so I must conclude that you just don’t like the sound of heartland rock
