    Lions fan. Happy that Stafford went somewhere and got the superbowl that he was capable of getting. Goff is a good quarterback and has been great in spots. The lions got a bunch of picks and were able build a great team. Both teams got what they wanted. As for the difference in the quarterbacks, Stafford can make plays with his arm that Goff cant make. Stafford is prone to trying to do too much although I think he has improved on that the last few years.

      @BobbyMerf2446 Před 21 dnem +7

      That was my biggest gripe with Stafford. Bad interceptions at bad times. Too much confidence in his arm. Even during their SB run, he led the league in picks (tied with Dak I think) and pick 6s. He was very lucky to have a defense that held teams out of the endzone.

    Rams got "Their guy" and Stafford Delivered in a Storybook season and Lions got a long term, gritty, in tune with his coaching and players QB who btw is also a multi post season winning QB. Stafford is older and in a couple years that will affect the Rams. Goff has been relatively injury free his whole career plus he is a few years younger. Detroit finally found the Right Front office,Coaching and Players and and the Right Time. Not all teams have QB's who have every guy on the team believing in them. Thats an intangible and can be significant on Winning clubhouses. No dissension within ranks is good it means all is Right for Everyone.

    The one thing that they are not saying is that even though the stats are pretty close, they are not looking at the big picture, Goff has probably the best offensive line in the NFL and two RBs that had over a thousand yards and two pro bowl receivers in La Port and St Brown, the Rams offensive line was probably middle of the pack and offensive weapons are good but not great, so that makes a big difference, bottom line Stafford is a elite top 10 quarterback, I would put him at 6 or 7, and he won a Superbowl and Goff is about the 12 or 13 best quarterback and is above average but NOT elite 😎

    Best win-win trade ever in my opinion. McVay was just not the coach to bring out the best in Jared Goff like Ben Johnson did, but his offense allowed Stafford to reach a level of play he could never do in Detroit. The Rams got the QB to push them over the hump, the Lions got the QB and picks to rebuild their team. Both players are happy, both teams are happy, both fan bases are happy. Like I said, WIN-WIN.

    Here’s the main point people keep missing… as a Rams fan, we never said Goff was bad… he was really, really good. But that was his ceiling. I’m glad Goff got to the NFC title game last year, but we got tired of hearing that. He didn’t have that “it” factor when it mattered most. Mark my words, Lions fans will say that in 3 years when they move off him.

      @C-S. Před 20 dny +2

      To be fair Goff was on a rookie deal with the Rams. You can't expect a QB to play like a SuperBowl MVP right away. Stafford is a NFL Vet that had 10+ years in by the time he got to the Rams.

  • @tonybino01
    @tonybino01 Před 19 dny

    Matthew Stafford is a known commodity. He can carry a team. For Jared Goff, he can't. He has to be surrounded by a great offensive line, a dominant running game, and elite wide receivers. He never led the Rams or challenged McVay like Matthew Stafford does. He didn't earn Sean McVay's trust. I'll take Matthew Stafford for two more years than ten years of Jared Goff. Jared Goff just plays along and is good when everyone on his team are excellent.

    Rams won the trade. Super bowl equals tens of millions of extra dollars for the owner, which at the end of the day, is why they play the game in the first place. Stafford played far less games than Goff and played severely injured in several of the other games. It's not even close fellas. If Stafford played for the Lions last year the Lions probably when the super bowl. Stafford totally outplayed Goff in the playoff game. Lions just had the better supporting cast.

      @LDVTennis Před 21 dnem

      Disagree. Matt got nothing. Rams had one of the easiest schedules that year. Still, they went winless in November because against the good teams on their schedule Stafford reverted to old form, throwing INT's. Before the season was over, Rams stacked the roster by acquiring OBJ and Von Miller. They needed Von Miller because Donald was typically a no-show in the playoffs and Stafford was bound to throw more INT's --- 2 more in the SB game. Von Miller got the Rams a SB ring.
