Lions getting haters, now you know they doing something right
So true
Same with Michigan
Well michigan was cheatingâ@Thefallen2
â@@Thefallen2They cheated several times. Stop coping. (Michigan/MSU fan btw...sadly...)
â@@Thelowestofthelowtiersthey still won the natty without cheating
Rakestraw wasnât a contingency plan. He was a pick of great value at a position of need.
No he wasn't already had 6 cbs
@@Jamar-lg9ob yes he was. Some of our DBs are on a 1 year contract or are prone to injury. Brad Holmes knows you donât play for the moment. You play for the long game. Good player. Good pick.
â@@dustymedlockHolmes went BPA
He was mocked to us at 29 and we got him at 61, goated pick
Sorry Sam, but I donât think Brad & Dan are concerned about Arnold. He is Him and they know it. It just so happened that, once again, the Draft Gods granted them a really good player at a position of need in Rakestraw and they werenât going to pass on another Him. You are đŻcorrect about them following their process. It just doesnât conform to âgeneral termsâ because in general terms donât apply to Brad & Dan. Good job once again.
Damn go easy on Sam , crushed it brother , great comment!
Arnold second best cb on Alabama and rake straw was second best cb on Missouri
@@Jamar-lg9ob says the Ga fan
@@kenmcwise1776 Michigan and Georgia fan Michigan first
Look at the contracts in the rest of the CB room. Rakestraw is not a contingency plan, but a smart building block moving forward.
Rakestraw will play in the slot allowing Branch to move to safety A++ move
I donât know if youâre a Lions fan, but Rakestraw was repping there in rookie minicamp. Also, Amik Robertson and Emanuel Moseley can play the slot.
Campbell has said the plan is to get Branch at safety this season.
I'm rewatching last season, full game, I've made it to the Dallas game. One thing that I kinda already knew but am being reminded of is Safety, Ifeatu Melifonwu is an absolute stud playmaker.
I know PFF likes him too which tells me when he's not making splash plays that he's not out of place.
Hopefully all are good and everyone stays healthy but we know that won't happen therefore we will need them all eventually.
Branch better in slot at nickel though
Proud to see this team where it is I've been a fan since 07
I've been a Lions fan my whole life! I'm 46.
Im 38yrs old. Ive been a fan since 1991/92. Ive seen some heartbreaking shit lol. Luckily, we had The Red Wings. 25yrs straight in the playoffs. We went to 6 Cup finals and won 4 of them. Should've won 5, but thats a different discussion lol. We had some decent Lions teams from time to time. But the way Brad Holmes, Speilman and Campbell are building this team is special. I kinda reminds me of the way The Wings started building their team after the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals loss. We just keep hitting our draft picks, we rarely miss. If we can keep doing that and add a couple soild players in FA and stay relatively healthy. We will be very hard to beat..
Why does Sam feel the Rakestraw is was made sole in case Arnold isn't any good?!
Or a position of great weakness for 3 seasons, why not grab your two future starting CBs now!
Again, Rakestraw is not a contingency....he was BPA on the Lions board--like all of Holmes picks.
Even when Sam is right (about Rakestraw being a good pick), it is for the wrong reason.
I donât usually give you guys a thumbs up đ. But I am this time. We have a great team. đ„đ
We still have the Cam Sutton issue. We might have 12 million dollars.
Who are you responding to?
Lol.
@@thomaswatkins3686 the guyâs talking Tom. Are you ok
Wait...so they got Arnold which is awesome because he might be the missing piece. But they also got Rakestraw and doubled down because they might have gotten it wrong??? I can follow the logic of how these "analysts" got there, but I highly doubt that's what the front office intended.
Yeah Carlton Davis is on a one year deal
This is the year-SUPER BOWL ?
Yep
Absolutely
15 or 16 consecutive games to pull that off. The former only if the Lions win a first round playoff bye.
Maybe weâll see a rotation between Houston and Davenport on the offside along with a mix of bruice Irvin or another depth piece
We donât have Bruce Irvin anymore
These guys hated the Gibbs pick and will never walk it back
Lions Era
This is why Lions Superbowl window is NOW and maybe the next couple years until they fall back a little
Vaki was drafted as a running back by the Lions not safety! Just to let you know!
Yes sir. And his GPS says he's got excellent top end speed. With our oline should be fun.
I'd draft at least 1 day 3 RB every year because you're essentially getting a 2/3rd rd talent relative to other position. Too much value as nobody drafts them anymore.
Vaki is a Special Teams, and mix it up offensive weapon.
Go Lions!
My only concern is in about 3 years, if we can maintain having a great roster nut for now, the lions are in there window and a contender
Window is next 3 years, and the Goff contract is structured accordingly
The lion should be good this year. A lot of unforseen coming this year. It'll be crazy betting.
20/21 đș JJ $igned Away!
Rakestraw was a depth pick. They simply needed that many corners.
Arnold was supposed to go at 9 to 14. Trading earlier at that level, would have "justified" giving up even additional 2nd round draft pick!!!

The Lions are winning the SB this seasonâŠ
You know what I miss? Being the only guy around wearing Lions gear. Iâve had season tickets since age 19 in 1994. I spent decades being harassed and ridiculed.
Donât get me wrong, success is what Iâve patiently waited for, but for whatever reason it bugs me that everyone loves them now. Where were you in 2008?
I'd feel a lot more comfortable if they graded them a C- ....
I wish yall would talk about Mathieu Betts
Why hes 29, unproven and camp hasn't started yet
Lions need to trade for Harrison Butler. they would get an A++
Stop.
I think they are hoping to get Jake Bates, who kicks 60 yarders, like they are 40 yarders.
â@@petesadowski1694I want Bates too. But man he just missed a 51 yarder in ford field. Hopefully he doesn't miss again because that's concerning
I don't see Rakestraw as a contingency pick. Holmes doesn't operate that way. I think they see Arnold and Rakestraw as the #1 and #2 corners starting in 2025. Davis is on a one year deal and he's most likely gone after this season. Sutton played like crap and then fought the law and the law won. The team was going to be thin as hell come 2025 because none of the other guys on the roster, outside of Mosely, has a chance of being a starting corner. I like the Robinson kid from the Raiders but I see him as a nickel with Branch sliding into a full-time safety role. This daft class is going to depend on what they can get out of Mahogany and Wingo. I'm afraid McNeil is gone after this year. If they were going to sign him they would have. He'll be a 20-million dollar player when he hits FA and with Hutch needing a deal I don't see him re-signing with the club. They are going to need a guard to step in after this season and hopefully Mahogany is that guy. The O-line has to get younger. If Wingo can replace McNeil the team will be set. If not, DT becomes a big-time priority in the 2025 draft.
The only pick I didn't like was Manu. Not that I minded them taking a flyer, but giving up a third-round pick for a project from Canada who may not have even been drafted? That's my only critique on Holmes. Sometimes he gets it in his head that a lineman is better than anyone else but him realizes and he way over pays and over drafts that player. Last year it was Martin, the 360 pound human overpass who looked about as nimble as the old fella I see strolling by every morning with his walker. I mean, I imagine he's great for the employees at the nearest Golden Corral and he probably added five digits to the local Uber-Eats income but he has bust written all over him. Just like Paschal, just like Onwuzurike, and just like his decision to reward Charles Harris, a first-round bust who bounced around from team to team and got rewarded by Homes for one mediocre season. After he got paid? He went right back to sucking on a major level, being the ultimate underperformer he had always been.
I hope Manu can become something but to draft a guy who had never played against anyone beyond American level high school ball in the fourth round and to trade next years third round pick to do it? Yeah, he's big, and ya can't coach big, but he is raw as a high school sophomore. It will take two, most likely three years to find out what he might be. But, Brad has put together a great roster so we'll see. I just wish he would hire someone whose only job would be to scout and recommend linemen. He got Hutch and Sewell right but as for the rest, outside of McNeil, not so much. Time will tell and I like the rest of the draft. Go get em Lions!
đ€Łđ€Ł the only one you can call a bust right now is Ounsewike (sp?l) because it's been 3 years. All the others are to be determined. You sound like an SOL kind of fan. Holmes' hit percentage is off the charts. How do you even question it. I swear some Lions fans make me want to drink.
The comment about linemen has to be the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard đđ jesus you people are funny.
And Mac is a part of the core as theyâve said multiple times. There is a 0% chance he wonât be signed same as Penei Sewell and Goff.
Bro, how can u call martin abust? Guy barely played. And Pascal is coming into his 3rd season. I bet you were calling iffy a bust too....now u prolly tarzaning him. Lions fans that come out the woodwork are the worst with terrible takes
Read the first chapter of you novel, couldnât finish the rest past Hutch being allowed to walk. LOL. When Davis leaves Brad gets his 3rd round pick back in a comp pick so no worries there. Bradâs playing 3d chess not getting cute.
â@@kenmcwise1776 he never said anything about letting hutch walk though lol. He literally said we have to resign hutch so mcneill might have to be let go

Wait till after the season to grade it
what are you predicting the Lions reg season record to be?
@@claylarson3021 10-7
@@Jamar-lg9ob yeah that is thier floor, its possible for sure. I think they will get 12 again though.
@@claylarson3021 it very much possible I see anywhere from 9-14 wins it all depends on health imo once again mainly on defense

Clown alert!! đ€Ą
Got any more dad jokes, old man yelling at clouds?
A+ for that? Lol. Let's see how the Lions play against a first place schedule, with a target on their back. Lets see how many games their coach throws away because he doesn't understand statistics. Lets see if Minny having a QB and GB looking better and even Chi not tanking for a draft pick matters to their record. Nothing they did in the off-season fundamentally changes anything going into this year. It's a good team but cmon man.
lol detroit vs everybody
đđđ
They added 4 corners to their room and Sutton and Jacobs are gone who were trash. Only position group that was horrible. That is the definition of a fundamental change. Also itâs their offseason not anyone elseâs i dont give a fuck about the rest of the league
Why you hatin on the Lions smh ! Who your team ??
