- In this video we are going to tour our apartment in Valencia Spain. We live close to the Ruzafa neighborhood in Valencia so we have easy access to restaurants without the noise.
We have bought our home in Spain and do have a 20 year mortgage, which needed a considerable amount of money down.

Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home base. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised in small town, Ohio.
We left our jobs, family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a CZcams channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! You did great in the renovations. We have been looking at houses in Valencia and notice we probably will have to renovate the bathroom (most bathrooms we saw needed updating). Sounds like it would cost between 10-15K to redo a bathroom. Carmel says hi and she loves your kitchen. Aiming for Sept travel again. IT BETTER NOT RAIN.

We love bidet too but we’re more used to Korean one which is attached to your toilet. But we were ok without it 🤣 Hope you find the place you want!

I absolutely LOVE this. I think prices have really gone up, right? This is exactly what I would want.
Economy in Spain is very weak. Unemployment in Spain is over 20% especially for the young. People don't have money Rents are very cheap. Spain is beautiful country Assuming you are a foreigner who goes there with money. Very nice place to retire.

To add, instead of the bidet, what takes a lot of space. You could put a hand shower on the sink next to it. Still you can wash your hand. With the hand shower you can use this as a bidet. I did!...just an idea if you are missing a bidet!...

Hi, we’re on the 1st floor, not the ground floor. Yes, the new doors help a lot, the windows were old, metal, single pane glass, these are much better! Good luck and thanks for watching!

Hi Fin! Working with the architect and builders they sometimes have a showroom or there are showrooms around town, so you can pick out materials. The builders also have brochures for materials. Some of the items we picked from online and they would just install them. Out architect was great if you need one. Thanks for watching!

Hi Larry, our architect helped us to find the contractors. We're glad to hear that you liked our suggestions. Gran Via is a great neighborhood, one of the nicest neighborhoods in Valencia for sure. But yes, it's pricy.

Just stumbled upon your video... i happen to have just sold my apartment in Valencia. Capital gains tax does indeed take a huge sum from your profits. I just about made money on my investment since you cannot discount refurbishment costs. I'm out of Spain as its not for me.... too many taxes and annoyances but it's a personal choice... Best of luck to you....
We are a Ukrainian family of 3 people (mom+2 daughters) struggling to find a place in Valencia starting rent from April... We can pay, but don't have Spanish documents yet, so the housekeepers are afraid to rent for us. Can you advise some websites to look at? Or good realtors to talk to?

Hi Jeff, I think the whole thing took about 2 months. Architect and other fees are included in our entire renovation cost. FYI, our architect charged us about 10% of total renovation cost. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful place guys! I love the changes you made. I’m wondering about the process of hiring contractors there. Is it a nightmare? Do you have to pay up front? Is there anything to protect you if they stop showing up?
Hi, for us it wasn’t nightmare as we worked with our architect. She was an architect/project manager, and we also communicated with the supervisor of the construction company directly. We picked the company may not have been the cheapest but still reasonably priced and we knew we can trust them. We made payments along the way, never everything upfront. Hope it helps!

The 420$ is quite misleading. That would be 800 USD a month at least if you were renting it if it’s not far from Ruzafa but anyway, I pay even less for something really good too, your place looks great congrats !
