- May 13th 2020 - As a British family with not much knowledge regarding life in the Philippines, it has been a slow journey for us to get to know the island of Siargao and how much it could possibly mean to our immediate future.
We didn't know we would be stranded here for 57 days on Lockdown, but because of that we have opened our minds to the idea of making a life here on the island of Siargao. Moving to the Philippines was not on the cards a few months ago but the whole world has changed in a very short space of time and we feel we are adjusting to flow with it.
Today we go and get Story some more items that she can call her own, and Phwah Phwah makes some progress on her garden with Russell's help.
For now we are going to upload a daily video diary of the Siargao Island Lockdown scenario. This is day 57. Our regular family travel vlogs will resume publishing later.

Play is an important occupation for children as they grow up.. through play it improves not only their gross/fine motor skills but also their critical thinking skills and executive functioning skills... I love watching your vlogs. Love the beach resorts. I only been on the island of Cebu. I'm a truck driver here in California while my Filipina wife is a stay at home mom with our 11 week old daughter. We're planning on going back to the Philippines next year or later to visit family.

I’ve watched you the first time in Thailand, then Portugal and back to Thailand and now the Philippines. My plan was to move back to Thailand once my daughter graduates and goes to college. I ended up rescuing a dog and fell in love with her and it seems impossible with such a long flight with her. So I’m thinking about Portugal first for a year or so since the flight for her isn’t so long and then maybe Thailand from there to cut down the flight time.

I think the reason for the GCQ is to prevent influx of travellers going to Siargao Island. It is a tourist destination even for Filipinos. So, the island is not ready for incoming travellers if it lifts the GCQ.
Nope. The real reason is because Siargao, though a separate island, is part of the province of Surigao del Norte, which is part of the Caraga Region of mainland Mindanao Island. While Siargao has zero cases so far, the mainland region of Caraga hasn't fared as well. They had around 60 -confirmed- suspected (PUI) cases, including six deaths, which puts it among the provinces at moderate risk.
ALL tourism industries in the Philippines, even in areas which now have no quarantine restrictions, are still impossible anyway, since inter-island travel (and in some cases, inter-province travel) is still restricted and people can not congregate in groups of more than 5.
Kudos to their LGU for acting fast and being vigilant :)
@@AngryKittens There are only 3 confirmed cases in Butuan City and no one died. That is the only case in the CARAGA region where Siargao belongs. There are a number of suspected cases but they are not confirmed cases.

@@AngryKittens Hi! Hope youre well and safe. where did you get that number? I live in Siargao Island and there are no cases yet. Theres only 1 confirmed case in Caraga Region but the patients confirmatory test came back negative.
