    Drain hot on the side stand . Fill it through the chain inspection cover . 1 quart out , 1 quart in . There's more than one way to do this job .

    For those frozen in fear when he says it should be up right. You pull the drain plug and grab the front brake and sit on it and rock it side to side if you want. Get off your bike, put the derby cover back on and take the inspection cover off and fill as he stated. Check for leaks.

    Why not use the fill hole right in front of the derby cover that sits way up high were you dont have that issue of having to keep it flat?

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  Před 3 lety +13

      Technically that hole is to check primary chain adjustment, but you could put fluid through there.

      Don't worry about it . Primary oil is sold in quarts for a reason . Drain the oil when hot with the bike on the side stand and just stick a quart of oil in through the chain inspection cover using a funnel .

    I have some white foamy substance in my oil I’ve never checked it after it ran what could this be from the spot where I fill my bike oil is super full. I check my oil pretty often I just added some before I rode last and then I went to ride today and that’s what I found but I checked it after I had already started it and it was white and foamy and filled all the way up the whole stick I shut it off and then checked after 20 minutes and it’s still super full of the whole reservoir thing I have a 2000 sportster

      If you’ve never done it, I’d just do it anyway. By doing this you’ll get an idea of how much metal shavings are kicking around in there. Fresh fluid “should” help, if it’s not permanent damage done already. The fluid that came out of this bike in the video was scary...not good.

But to Push Square O-Ring in to 4 Dimpels Areas. Your so miss leading. Or you just need Glasses. Maybe it's your first time doing ????
