If a cop detains you, then it is a very good idea to make it clear that you are invoking your rights under the 5th Amendment, that's true. However, you are under no obligation to respond to a police officer who just walks up to you and asks you questions. You don't have to respond, and you don't have to stop. A seizure under the 4th Amendment happens when you are legally stopped in a car, say, or the cop tells you that you are detained, and it can also be a seizure under the 4th Amendment if a reasonable person concludes that they are not free to leave (so if you are surrounded by cops and you can't leave. Or they are pointing guns at you, etc)
I read some legal page somewhere where it's not the fifth, but the first, that gives free speech AND That includes silence. The 5th is really only if you were on a witness stand in a trial. You don't really need to invoke anything you just shut up. Nobody can make you speak
