@@jgaffney567 There are a couple of issues with what you are saying. You're argument doesn't make sense because that's not what happened. If people started hanging nooses on trees then yes someone should stop them then. That seems like it could easily fall into a vandalism or damage to the scenery and you'd have a better argument than "it will make us look bad". But that wasn't even close to what occurred and a little discernment would have gone a long way versus knee-jerk reaction.
1. By all appearances and rhetoric by the conservancy on their site and media promotions the space is a public space including park areas. Is there a sign that says "no photography past this point" or "call 313.566.8200 for permission to photograph". Where are the rules posted and how visible are they at each entrance to the space?
2. It's a public/private partnership, which parts are public and which parts are private. Is it just the money that's public and the land and profit is private?
3. What happens if you stand on the public side of the gray poles and do all the same things as you stated above with the space clearly in the background?
4. What about the hundreds if not thousands of photos and videos that both professionals and amateurs have already posted of those spaces online?
5. How does banning a group of photographers help in their mission statements like "Develop a collective sense of ownership, accessibility and responsibility" or "Create and maintain an inviting destination for all"
paige's set up was breathtaking, probably the best i've ever seen on this channel

Claire K I do security at a park location that city donors pay a lot of money to maintain and we do the same because some people could potentially be doing something inappropriate. Maybe filming a music video with inappropriate content. I think the guard could’ve been more descriptive with what exactly the photographers were doing so the supervisor would’ve felt more comfortable about it. but yeah just felt like explaining because it is an odd situation that happens a lot as a security guard who has to enforce city rules that may not always make sense.

I know, the security guard didn't know, all they saw was a film crew and a boom arm (this looked like a big production vs. a few photogs walking around) so they shut it down. we are out of state photographers shooting a model. What could be inappropriate?

When security came I got so stressed 😭 always such a nightmare but I’m glad the security guard was nice about it

Maybe I'm weird, but sometimes I like the occasional random person in a photo. A beach is beautiful to photograph, but a mostly empty beach with a lone fisherman silhouetted is a whole deeper effect

So glad to see you work with Vuhlandes!! His work is UNREAL and he is an epic photographer. I was so glad to see a film photographer do this series. He shows the reality of film - methodical, intentional, slow. Switching to film really changed my workflow and I loved seeing him representing that! Also, was that Portra or Ektar?!
The way the yellow was has me thinking Portra but a lot can be changed in the scan/edit.
Security everywhere makes it out like doing photography is a crime. Can definitely relate when Jessica said she sees security coming *act natural.
They do huh. They make it seem like you gotta pay for the space, or you’re shooting state secrets or something.
This is why we flock to online. I saw this post on pinterest. "Adults: no skateboarding on the sidewalk, no loitering at the mall, no drumming in your yard. Funding for parks and busses is socialism. Libraries don't need to be open on the weekends or in the evenings. Goin to the movie should cost 30 dollars and so should the food.

My favorite was obi's photograph. The models hands are above her head with the ordimental grass behind her with a beautiful blue sky.
Everyone did such a great job but Obi's shot with the angel wings does it for me.

Everyone absolutely smashed it! Loved seeing so much diversity in styling, shooting style and editing/retouching.
I love Obi's shots because it has more of a vintage vibe that gives nostalgia, also, I love Paige shots too because the angles and the quality is so good.
Everyone crushed this photoshoot, I love the versatility of each photographer. Talent all around out!

I like how 2 of the "detroit" locations are backdrops that they can bring anywhere xd love the series
Unfortunately getting permits or even permission to film in the cool iconic spots of Detroit did not work out. I really tried. As you can see we were not even allowed to shoot on the grass at the END of the Riverwalk....within minutes we were kicked out. I really did want to showcase more of Detroit.

i honestly loved jessica's edits the most coz they look the most natural to me. no warm or unnecessary filters. this isnt even a biased opinion since i dont actually watch this channel or her content regularly.

I loved how Vuhlandes got the shot from a higher angle at Paige's set, but I'm a bit said he didn't make use ofthe amazing shadow the wings were creating on the backdrop tbh... Obi's shot on that one was something out of a fantasy story, for real though
