All three videos tell a short story called Without You by Del James. In this one hes saying dont cry because hes trying to get back with her after he cheated. In November rain you find out that she couldnt get over it and she killed herself. The wedding scene in November Rain is his dream. Only the funeral is real.
@@plagasvon2399 No, patience was 1989 and Dont Cry and Nov. Rain came out in 91 with Use Your Illusion. Patience was about Axl's ex girlfriend at the end of their relationship.
I just watched Estranged for the first time and considered that it was Axel's awareness of everyone around him always onboard with trying to save him - and that he doesn't help them much...
'Estranged' is a masterpiece. Fun fact about this video is singing with Axel on the rooftop is the future lead for the great band Blind Melon's Shannon Hoon RIP. 'Change' is a great song. Of course everyone knows 'No Rain'.
I love the beginning of Blind Melon's 2nd album. It was literally two songs back to back. "Hello/Goodbye" and "Galaxy". No break between songs.... Cajun jazz style sound: "I'm entering a frame, bombarded by indecision. Where a man like me can easily let the day get out of control. Down this far in the quarter, But I'd rather be caught around now Instead of, oh say, 'round the month of June But if I can leave with a little bit of explanation Then, anywhere in the world I choose to go........" If he has the CD, he'd be able to implement the trick to get the pre-verses before the Intro.
I really miss Shannon Shannon was the one that you heard doing that real high octave. He was in the band called blind melon. And they're most popular song was called no rain. Rest in peace to Shannon
Symbology. The concept is symbology and not literal. Unhealthy self destructive unions that end bad. Slash's car was the relationship that he and his girl are in. There is turmoil and infighting so he drives it (the relationship) off the road and into a self destructive fiery resolve that there is no turning back from. Apply this formula to the whole video and the trilogy and it makes much more sense.
The shown death of Axl is a metaphor for the old Axl and his past life and mistakes made and the the baby coming back up in the end is a metaphor for Axl being reborn into the new person he has become now.
At some point you should check out Civil War from GN'R and Mr Brownstone (no video, only audio.) Mr Brownstone is a bunch of double entendres, you have to decipher what they are talking about. For me, the funny part of Mr Brownstone is when I was 9 or 10 years old I would listen to it and sing along loudly having no idea what I was singing about and then when I went back and listened to it again 10 years later I was so shocked that my parents didn't take the tape away from me and ground me for life but I honestly don't think they realized what was being said either😂
Definitely needs to listen to Civil War, it's right up his ally. And yes, Mr. Brownstone is in that same category as Welcome to the Jungle and Dr. Feelgood, super catchy songs that most people would rather not know what the lyrics are actually about.
No I think he should do "It's so easy." That video is crazy and he could relate on a level since he has toured all over and understands the lifestyle. If you GNR fans haven't seen that one then definitely check it but I would love to see his reaction to that
He was engaged to that actress (Supermodel Stephanie Seymour). It was so weird because they had JUST broken up when November Rain. The whole wedding scene was when they were still engaged, soooo. That's ANOTHER twist in these videos.
One of my favourite bands EVER!!! There are two versions of this song, you definitely need to find the original tapes, use your illusion one and two, they are the only band to release two albums at the same time. I hope you enjoy!!!!
@@ShazzaUK70 I wanted to see them when they were coming to Montreal but luckily I didn’t cause what a shitshow that turned out to be. And of course I missed them a few years ago when they came to Edmonton but oh well 🤷♂️ 😢
Axels voice and Slashes guitar are epic in every song. You must listen all three and put them together. In the early 90s we were all listening GNR and was one of the bends my growing up.
I agree, out of the trilogy "Don't Cry" is the less memorable of the three, a classic late 80's rock ballad like there were so many. I think "Estranged" is considered by many fans as the most solid but I can't forget Slash's iconic solo in "November Rain" and the dramatic operatic finale. That said, "Civil War" is my favorite G'n'R song.
@@kimgriffith1798 Erin was before when he filmed Sweet Child of Mine, he wasn't with her anymore with this trilogy was created. It's Stephanie Seymour in those.
I'm a little late, but enjoyed watching and wanted to chime in... Didn't you see? Slash did his solo at the top of the cliff, after the crash...he BAILED before it went over, in my mind. 😆
That's Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon in the blue shirt and shorts. Rip Shannon. This is my third favorite GNR song after Patience and Sweet Child O Mine! ❤
When the double album 'Use Your Illusions" was released, which this trilogy is from, we were gifted so many different genres and styles of songs. There are these rock ballads, sure, but also many rocking songs, like the ones you know or remember and which were from their debut album.
OMG! That's Shannon Hoon! I'm floored! As a GnR fan AND a Blind Melon fan for DECADES, I never knew Shannon Hoon was in this video or even did vocals on this track... here's the facts..."Who is the guest singer in Dont Cry? Shannon Hoon "Don't Cry" features Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon as a co-lead vocalist. Hoon sings an octave higher than Rose, and his voice is placed further back in the mix; Hoon also appears in the music video, singing alongside Rose during the helipad scenes."
You made me think about it... this was 'the' album of 1994-1995 for me - my boyfriend would always sing 'don't you dry' - he was moving back to Austria permanently and I loved my life here - no 'illusion' about giving up all I worked for and the stability I created for myself... I'm with you on this one (Paradise City & Sweet Child.. being the vibe I loved) - and I'd never seen the video - and you prompted me to go and check out 'Estranged' - also had never seen the video... watching your reaction videos have made me realise that these three songs are about Axl's mental health and what they all endure as their lives unfold - possibly, at the time, Axl may have believed that if Slash was gone, he would be too?
Of the three songs, Estranged is the best, in my opinion. One of the best of the Use Your Illusion albums. Definitely worth a listen. Breakdown is probably my favorite off those albums, though. Amazing song.
Mr Black Pegasus I've been loving your reactions my favorite is Gun n Rose's Since the 80s I Checout your recent video you made love it like the other guys voice too nice and deep. I called u Mr for respect i respect you. Carry on 😊
There's an alternative version of this video for Don't Cry the video is the same but the lyrics are different you should try reacting to it as well and it's called version 2 I think you'll find this other version kind of neat too. You should also try these songs I love as well (My Michelle), (You're Crazy) (Mr Brownstone), (Used To Love Her), (The Garden with Alice Cooper) & (Civil War). Hope you will LUV these as much as I do!!!!
"This video crazy as hell"...every single one of us when this first came out and before they explained the context ...November Rain helps explain a lot "Is Slash a freaking Heavenly angel?" Absofreakinlutly!
You mentioned viewing a trilogy. Jason Aldean did a song called "You Make It Easy". The song has 3 videos (episodes) to the story (mini-movie). Well done. Episode 1 leaves you wanting to listen to the song again so you can follow the movie.
If you haven't heard Sweet Child of Mine.. it's a must. GnR's best song, imo. I never could figure out what this video is about lol..... it cracks me up that Slash survives the car crash and is playing his guitar on the mountainside... I have no idea what it's supposed to mean, but to me it's just hilarious. For something extremely CHEESY and for pure entertainment factor... you might check out Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55"....

Civil War by Guns 'n Roses 👌🏼❤️
Amazing!!

Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon fame, sang backing vocals on this song. Axl and Shannon were friends from the same city in Indiana.
