My God is LOVEBITES a talented band!!! Never have I heard a more amazing all female band. Those two guitar players were out of this world, and as good as anyone I have ever heard play guitar. The drummer was relentlessly fast and accurate. The vocalist had such a huge range and so powerful and angelic in strength. Phenomenal band. I hope you do more of them. Maybe a live song by them next. How about "The Hammer of Wrath".

The band is named after the Grammy winning song Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestrorm. Asami is the lead singer, she joined Lzzy at Download 2019 to perform that song. Miyako and Midori shredding on guitar. Haruna is just a beast on drums. And new bassist Fami just joined last year. Original bassist, and band co-founder, Miho left in 2021. 1st single and title track to the latest album, released earlier this year.
Heavy metal band formed in 2016, some songs lean towards thrash, some lean towards power metal, all are awesome. 60+ songs and 4 albums to date. If the "dope hair" you are referring to is the blond pony tail, that's Midori, she is into competition body building.
Would you like more from them? Then try some live versions. They are just as good , or better, live. For the thrashy side, Thunder Vengeance at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 or Hammer of Wrath from 2023 Knocking On Heaven's Gate. For power metal leaning songs, Holy War and Swan Song also from that Zepp DiverCity concert. Miyako is a classically trained pianist and plays a Chopin piano intro on that Swan Song video.
"Where were these chicks in High School?" I'll tell you where they were.... they were in Japan. The amount of brilliantly talented female rock and metal musicians in Japan is quite frankly ridiculous. The West (especially the USA) is only just beginning to learn about them but they left most of our rock and metal artists behind in the dust long ago. If you want to delve into this scene you are in for a real treat.

LOVEBITE is a talented Japanese heavy metal band that, before Pandemic, was active mainly in Japan/UK/EU and has participated in major metal festivals in various countries to high acclaim. They already have dedicated fans (Wolfpack) all over the world.
LOVEBITES had been inactive since the fall of 2021, when the band's founder and leader, Miho (Ba), left the band. A year later, the band announced that it would resume its activities and began auditioning for a bass guitarist.
Out of hundreds of applicants, FAMI, then a 20-year-old college student, was chosen. She is also a You Tuber with over 650,000 registered users. Some fans were concerned that she had no band experience and that she did not play metal on her channel. So they decided to have the new LOVEBITES judged on this album and titled the album "Judgment Day".
Forget the pop stars here who sing about nothing but heartbreak and clueless dudes. These women embody girl power. They are not just a female band, they are perhaps the best metal band in the world today. You already have a bunch of suggestions to check out so I'll just say, go for it, they have no bad songs and a lot of great ones. Several of them are masterpieces by any standard.
Welcome to the BEST!! I am not much a fan of metal, but after discovering LOVEBITES early this year they have easily attained the top spot as my favorite active band. The band is around since 2016 and released their first EP and album in 2017. At this point they have 4 albums, some singles and EPs and also 4 official live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
They just finished touring Japan. Earlier this year they played their comeback show in march 2023. Their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami, you can also see in this MV of Judgement Day. They’ve already toured in Europe back in 2018/2019, including the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. Then came Covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band, two babies were born. Then LOVEBITES came back with new bassist and new song in late 2022. New album with this song came out in February 2023. Now we, the Wolfpack, are all hoping for a world tour next year …

The bass guitarist (Fami) uses a headless bass as you pointed out. The tuning pegs are located at the other end of the strings, near the tip of the body of the guitar. The main reason for this is to redistribute the weight of the guitar, giving a better balance and reducing the tendency of the neck of the guitar to dip down when it is being played. It also looks cool!
Personally I hate the look. I'm just used to seeing the normal head on guitars and without it the thing looks odd.

Japanese high schools have "light music clubs" that lots of girls are in (boys gravitate toward the sports clubs). There they actually learn to play rock music instruments. Many all girl bands in Japan formed this way.

I recommended Lovebites some time ago, and I'm glad you finally got around to them, however you got there! I was confident you'd like them and I see that I was right! They really are a fantastic band, and it was great to see you all enjoying them so much.

Female musicians are quite common in Japan across all instruments. The number of all female bands in Japan is staggering. Excluding the manufactured idol groups, there are around 900 known all female bands in Japan. This also does not include the many bands that that have a mix of male and female musicians. The technical abilities of these female musicians are extremely high.
Now Judgement Day is gonna be like a ear worm stuck in your brain. The only way to get rid of it is to listen to another Lovebites song, like Hammer of Wrath from their live performance from Knocking at Heavens Gate.😊❤

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".

The best part of Lovebites isn't even the mindblowing old-school playing, it's how relatable they are. Zero "rockstar" attitude (that cocky, better-than-thou, self-centered, self-destructive way of life).
All of them lead very healthy lives. They care for their fans. Their concerts feel like a gathering of friends, a celebration of music and life. And they're Metal as hell besides the positivity (no contradiction... in fact, most worldwide metalheads are friendly and family people).

These 5 young ladies are BAD ASS and they are all masters of their instruments. The headless guitar, which was the bass in this video, has the tuners on the body of the guitar instead of the headstock and they actually stay in tune better than guitars with tuners on the headstock. The girl who was playing the headless bass in the video was KILLIN' IT with her slap bass technique. Puff puff pass 🙌✌️

The other guitarist Midori is competing in the bodybuilding concept "Fitness" on high level in Japan. And is also an formidable acustic guitarr player.
Their new bassist who playes here is Fami. Who's chanel pn YT was bigger than Lovebites before she joined them late 2022 after a big tryout with players from allover the world.
Is basist that have all the skills of a extremely good basist. As both slaps, fingerpicking and many other amazing technics that can be seen more on her own chanel.
Often the usual thing is that you have one lead and one rythm or comp guitarr. But in this group they are two lead guitarists. Often playing in unison or doin "call and response" with eachother...
But what is the base for them doing that is the formidable rythm section with Haruna and Fami. (And before Fami Miho)
On top of that Asami voice. That is so fitting to the music. And she have that ballerina selfasured Charismatic look. And even some damce in some songs.....
The band was started by Haruna and the former basist Miho. Whi both come from another band.
Next year they will come to US. And reports say it will nearly impossible to get tickets...
They have not done a single bad song. All their albums are insanely good.

Asami (singer) "The One And Only Voice" did R&B vocals, even studied in the US and didn't even listen to metal music before she auditioned for Lovebites also studied ballet. Writes most of the lyrics.
Haruna (drums) "Little Big Engine" founded the band with Lovebites former bassist Miho.
Fami (bass) when Lovebites previous bassist left (amicably) Lovebites held a world wide audition and found her. BTW, that is a headless bass and it tunes on the other end.
Miyako (dark haired guitarist) "The Golden Touch" Main songwriter. Studied piano since she was 3 and taught herself how to play the guitar in highschool. Released a piano solo album this year.
Midori ( that badass guitarist) "Crazy Shredder" Yes, she could probably beat your butt, she's a competitive bodybuilder in Japan.
They always wear white when on stage, because, as Asami said in an interview with a French music magazine, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and it's easier to see us on stage." and they ARE small. They range from 4' 9" (Haruna) to 5' 2" Miyako and Fami.

japan has had an all female rock and metal scene for quite a while. some of them started popping up around 2005 and since then have been expanding exponentially. there are a ton of them now and like you say - where were these awesome girl groups when we were in high school ? i went to high school in the late 60's and nothing this awesome ever existed. all of the guys i hung out with would have absolutely lost their minds had this come along back then. and we probably would have moved to japan ! super talented beautiful classy ladies just killing it. what's not to love ? and it really started in japan in '81 with a female band called SHOW - YA. they were pure rock then with the metal starting in the mid 2000's. there are many of these amazing groups to check out but LOVEBITES are my favorite by far.

Miyako (long dark hair guitarist) is also an amazing classical pianist. You should check out "Swan Song with Chopin intro.". She plays the intro on piano, switches and shreds on guitar, then back to the piano for the outro. Midori (badass bitch on guitar) is also a fitness competitor.
Even though it's an MV, you've just witnessed greatness. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. As many have already stated, you've just scratched the tip of the iceberg. Some people say that they are the best metal band in decades. My next recommendations are "Hammer of Wrath" (2023 live version) or for a different vibe "Edge of the world" (2020 live version).

Great reaction - if you enjoy all female bands with superb talent then Japan is where you need to look . The music scene in Japan which is leading the Rock and Metal world at the moment has a plethora of insanely good bands - most of them either all female or female fronted . There are tons of amazing all-female band from Japan at the moment! You should react to the "Grandmothers" of all-famaleJ-hardrock Show-Ya they are all in their 60:ies now and still playing and if You want more Ramones like punk the Shonen Knife is the "Grandmothers" av all female J-Punk. They have played for over 40 years now and still playing!
So you experienced the Metal Queens. You'll be surprised to know that are many all female rock/metal bands in Japan. You have only scratched the surface.

Midori, with the badass hair, is a competitive fitness model, so yes, she can mess you up! The other guitarist is Miyako, and she is a quiet, demure, badass. One of her pets is a Python snake. Asami (vocalist) generally has somewhat of a operatic style voice, but it always works. She has ballet training, which explains the fluidity in her arm movements, which she uses a lot to express her self. And Haruna, who is crushing the drums, is called "The Little Big Engine", always chugging along at warp speed. When you see a foot cam of her, her feet look like pistons in a Formula 1 race car!

Nice one ladies! Another all-female band you might like to sample is The Warning: three sisters from Mexico who started 10 years ago doing metal covers on CZcams when they were scary-young. They quickly progressed to writing their own material and now they're all old enough to be away from home, they are doing some serious touring and getting some serious attention. They've toured with Muse and Lzzy Hale, and played a 'new artists' stage at the VMAs last month. One of you (sorry, can't recall who) has mentioned that she particularly admires female drummers, well Pau from The Warning is not only a savage on the drums, but sings backup on almost all their songs and lead vocal on some of them as well.
You really can't go wrong with any of their stuff, but some to note are:
Dust To Dust Live (Pau on lead vocals)
Choke (probably my favorite)
Disciple (best official video IMHO)
Evolve (at the VMAs)
also Survive live at Ted Talk 2017 when Ale was smaller than her Bass guitar and Pau broke the stick mid song and never missed a beat as she changed out sticks and later hit the broken piece of the cymbal it had landed on. and Animosity Love the animated Grim Reaper version.

Midori, the guitarist with the hair and the muscles, is a competitive bodybuilder. Lovebites is not just "good for a girl band." They can go toe-to-toe with any of the boys.
To be honest, they are "better" (technically and composition-wise) than most of the boys.
I just rewatched this and remember how excited you were about the ladies. I haven't seen any additional Lovebites on your channel! As I mentioned before, you need to see them live. They have so many great songs. One of my favorites is The Hammer of Wrath live at Knockin at Heaven's Gate. Please get back to them :).

It's great to see all these all-female bands kicking ass these days. You are all too young, but when I was in high school/college, we had several all-female bands like the Runaways, the Go-Gos, the Bangles, Vixen, L7, and probably some others I'm forgetting.

The badass chick w/ a viking like hair is midori tatematsu, the singer is asami, the other guitarist is miyako, the drummer is haruna and the new bassist is fami, their former bassist and one of the founder of the band w/ haruna the drummer is miho, she left left the band on personal matter, they have 60+ songs all top notch songs

Fami is their new bassist, she has two basses, the one without the standard head stock is tuned from the bottom, the strings are anchored at the top. Miho is the former bassist, she resigned in 2021 or 2022, and the band took a year off to look for a new bassist. Fami has her own YT Channel and is a phenom in my personal opinion. As are all the ladies. Haruna, the Drummer, is one of the two founders of the band, Miho was the other one. Asami is the lead vocalist. She does a LOT of the lyrics, but Miyako (the guitarist on the right with long black hair) is the primary composer. Midori, the other guitarist is also a competitive fitness model/bodybuilder; but a beast with her guitar too. They all sing, but they don't get a lot of volume in the mix because not all of them are as comfortable with English as Asami. Their songs are performed in English, but translated from Japanese, hence the unusual syllabic placement.
Here is a video of Fami doing the bass cover of "Alien Alien" which is a vocaloid performance (meaning anime'). This girl is amazing. At the time Fami recorded this she was only 17, and by Japanese Law had to wear the face mask to hide her face. She joined Lovebites at the age of 20, after just graduating High School. I hope y'all with react to this song too one day soon. Keep up the great work.
Note: I think Haruna could out stomp an Ostrich.
This is the first music video with Fami, so, maybe is was her Judgement day? Just speculation on my part, but if so; Fami killed it!
