The sight of a person giving you a card, which you save to your inv and can call in any time is crazy. The sheer amount of props, clothing, and accessories that people can share and ADD to avis in real time whilst in the world is unbelievable and I will certainly give this one a try as 3d artist.

Hahaha, I was given a non-furry avatar originally, but I kept losing them (game crashed due to weird issues with my PC) so I just got carefree about which one I used
It’s more of a an issue on my part anyway, been having the issue for months on VRC as well, so I’m dealing with that thanks to some of the stuff I got for Christmas
back before they split from neos they had a decent library, they know it's an issue but they have a lot of priorities to work on Addendum: I do feel like part of what makes the game so great is that even if it doesn't have many stock avatars right now, the barrier of entry to make your own is way lower. You can use almost any rigged model in the avatar importer and it usually just works first try, alternatively you can throw a static mesh in as a head and that's all you need. Someone can just take any humanoid model, throw it in mixamo, then use it in game. Granted, some people don't want to put that effort in, they just want a social program that works with minimal thought, and that's fine, but resonite is really the **only** option if you want to do more than just chat in VR using your social platform.
@@williamsmith6921 Oh I know, they had a whole multiple series of avatars, but the issue is telling people to navigate it like a file browser. Hopefully with Froox and everyone having the freedom to continue development, they'll at least add something like a tagging feature for public files so that way someone can quickly hunt for avatars or other resources by just using a popular tag.
I tried it out for a bit a while back and the first thing I did is look for an avatar and yeah it was difficult to find more than a few avatars at a time. It also probably didn't help that was I too shy to go into a public instance xD
Everytime I see someone make content about Resonite, I am completely amazed at all the things you can do. This actually seems too good to be true, you can basically ask yourself "can I do __" and the answer is probably gonna be "yes"

I didn’t really know much going in, but there were some non-furries like Prime (the dev) and the knight who gave me the pass. There were others as well, but for some reason or another, they just didn’t make the final cut.
I'm not exactly sure why there is so many furries on the platform. might just be because there is so many techical people in the furry community that enjoy what you can do on there? but hey, don't let the furries keep you away if you wanna check it out, it's one of the most special places you can find I'd say
I guess it's a mix of the amount of furries into tech, and how VR is so important to furries (it's the only medium that allows us to truly BE our fursonas).

If it's not the first I'd highly, highly suggest looking in at your self and what you may have done to piss people off that badly. If you are Homophobic, Sexist, Transphobic, Furryphobic, Racist, that is a fast way to get blocked on Resonite, people have a 0 tolerance policy to intolerance on the platform. If you are demanding others do things for you, or bitch and whine about everything that's going on/wrong? that's an other good way to get blocked. Being a general troll or not listening when people tell you no, or just not listening at all is an other good way to get blocked. Harassing others in general over anything, breaking world rules, not getting consent before doing things to others etc. All of these are expected reasons to get blocked by people on any platform not just Resonite. Anyone watching the video can see how rather quick people are to help others, even total strangers, on this platform, no questions asked and that is the typical experience people have on this platform and as such your stated experience isn't standard in the slightest. "If everywhere you go it smells like shit, maybe it's time to check your own shoes."

It’s an interesting experience for sure, there’s some elements such as barrier to entry and optimizations that I believe are currently holding it back, but I think with time, it has the potential to compete
It'll probably replace vrchat in a few years if high end VR becomes more affordable than a custom or pre built PC with nVidia or AMD graphics and an oculus rift/steam VR headset Since it would probably be unlikely to optimize the game Or maybe it would be possible I'm fine if there's a separation between PC and standalone content because VRChat already has that And I'd still switch because of what resonite offers

That’s actually something I wondered about during the recording, they’ve got pretty active moderation since the community is close and small, so anything going wrong can be addressed immediately. Similarly, they have the same types of moderation tools like VRC, such as blocking, muting, hiding avatars, etc
Furry or not, the game have some nice people around(ofc also the not so nice people), but so far it's been a nice place to develop stuff and just the famous ''fuck around and find out'' is really good! The thing which surprised me .. there is no mirror dwellers, actually it's because the game was designed around physical interaction between people and not only social as VRchat. On vrc some avatar include some features.. but it's a little bit wacky some times.. and it stays personal... In Resonite.. everything is sharable, even your avatar inspector ahaha.. It makes avatar creation not a lonely boring task on blender or unity, but a funny social event, where you can experiment with all your friends and making shit x) I really enjoy that kind of interaction
I guess when you have so much freedom to do whenever you want, there is literally nothing stopping you from making something happen. Mirror Dwelling might be a thing, but with the player base being much smaller as well and less utilized to casual consumers, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are eventually mirror dwelling activities occurring as the game grows

I’m totally fine with them to do whatever as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. Used to be a massive furry hater a while ago but changed over time when I realized that the worst of it was such a small minority of the actual fandom. That’s pretty noice, been running PCVR for a hot minute now and it’s been great! I know Quest support is in development, but I don’t know how far along it is as of rn
Native quest support is gonna be awhile away. It's gonna need a lot of optimizing to be able to run on a quest. The quest can barely run Roblox on lowest settings. But quest link has gotten pretty good. You don't even need to use SteamVR to run it with link.

I love that blessed empire had that card. I know him from vrchat they are great people. I miss going to creator jam in neos from time to time. I find that going from vrchat to neos and other social vr is like visiting a different town or city. I should hop onto resonite to visit some old friends.
Well got good news for you! Creator Jam is still a thing! Every week they do something and I believe every month the members of the server vote on that month’s topics. February is when MMC, The Metaverse Makers Competition, which is hosted by Creator Jam in resonite, gets announced and opens up!

Thanks a bunch, been working a while to find a style that works well with me. I like making some custom assets that fit with the theming, and the idea of Animal Crossing music/UI in a primarily furry video seemed too funny to not do
9:45 I am like half a furry. Not really a furry but I do like anthro animals but I tend to prefer being a human in VR, sometimes, but occasionally I do like being a furry. Specifically if everyone else is furries. So basically im a furry chameleon. But not like my fursona is a chameleon... You know.
I think Resonite looks like an absolute marvel, functionally. There's something about the way the game is rendered that makes it graphically much prettier than VRChat. My problem is that as a non-furry, it looks like it'd be an incredibly alienating experience, albeit unintentionally. That's the primary reason I remain on VRChat. The other reason is because I know Unity, I do not know Resonite's avatar system.
I wouldn’t let those aspects stop you from enjoying it. As shown in the video, there are people who aren’t furries playing it, and everyone was super willing to not only help, but also showcase their work. I expect that obviously some finicking around is necessary, but your projects can be viewable by anyone, so help is literally a player invite away
@@DaBloodyResh It's still something I'm certainly going to look at, because I do think there is something to be gained out of curious people straying from the bandwagon. Again, Resonite is probably the most polished innovation of a VR social application I've seen. Outside of what I mentioned previously, the only other huge issue I think I can see is the complexity. I personally find it exciting, but it's not very user-friendly to someone who just wants to buy a Booth avatar, throw it into Unity, and upload it to the game. From what I've seen, bringing in a custom avatar is a much more involved process. Regardless, this may be a little side-project of mine. Who knows, maybe I'll (and many others) feel at home despite it all!
If you’re using a PC but don’t have VR, you can still play in desktop mode! The desktop experience is actually pretty nice, ended up messing around with it a bit as I’m beginning to prepare for a Resonite follow up vid
I want so bad to try it, i wish i could develop quick adventures in which any avy could use their props to accomplish the task (kind of TADC adventures), i think that would be a nice way to come up with new ideas for users and developers, also i think resonite has an amazing potential to let us create virtual experiences to learn about teamwork and to explore the point of view and the personal narratives of everybody. I hope i will be able to join soon.

Resonite is so much fun, like you I dont know much about how to do things in game. I played a lot in neos and have a few ideas I want to bring to life in resonite but just dont know how to do it lol. Everyone in the community is so nice to hangout with and tbh unlike vrchat I completely fine with going into public worlds. I sometimes just leave my worlds public when im making stuff. I hope you have lots more fun in resonite if I ever meet you in game itd be fun to show you some stuff.
I can agree with this. I’m a bit dumb so the whole “Resonite coding” stuff isn’t gonna work too well with me, but it did feel like a breath of fresh air joining a public feeling a lot more safe knowing there’s not gonna be crashers or just shitty people. VRC has a lot of really cool stuff as well, but you do have to look a bit more since the game is so much larger
As a junior programmer and somewhat experienced vr developer I am scared how many efffort and time it took to make all these ideas work together. I think that I will make the right decision to go for magistrate in university as a vr developer. It's so fascinating that I will work on these hard yet amazing stuff

Only reason people don't get into resonite is because it requires experience with unity to do things. But it can be social if you get a friend to make you an avatar.

Yea, this experience still has quite a bit to go before it reaches a new streamlined point, but I also think it’s not really trying to directly compete with them anyway
While the option might be there (I didn’t mess with the controls options too much), there are so many new features and little things that I didn’t show off that there’s no way you could really get the same familiar feeling
I really Should just take the plunge into some social VR stuff, I've stayed away from VR Chat because nearly everything Ive seen on it is just kids being loud and obnoxious. This gives me more Chill Second-Life Vibes and I am all for that. But finding an Avatar base looks freaking difficult. I see a bunch of stuff on VR Chat Avatars, and have seen some things on converting VRC avatars to Resonite but, finding one I would wear has been difficult.
I would definitely give VRC another try, but stay out of public lobbies. If chaotic nightmares aren’t your cup of tea I heavily recommend looking up some communities and giving that a shot. Resonite is a fun experience with a lot of really cool stuff nonetheless tho, and while the community is a lot smaller, you can pretty much guarantee that any non-newbie is gonna be really nice and helpful.
Glad this popped up in my recommended really nice video and I really love how chill you are with everyone also even if you're not a furry a protogen is a good choice for an avi because its a sci-fi species thats part cyborg it was made buy a furry but i consider it to be kinda of a neutral avatar but if you fell more comfortable in a human avi thats understandable, also hope to see more great vids from you

There is a good sized community of non furry's on resonite, but it is growing slower then the furry one

I’ll prolly revisit it later on, I think the best thing I can do is come up with a broad concept that can apply to all of main 3 social VR experiences

It'll probably replace vrchat in a few years if high end VR becomes more affordable than a custom or pre built PC with nVidia or AMD graphics and an oculus rift/steam VR headset
Since it would probably be unlikely to optimize the game

That’s actually something I wondered about during the recording, they’ve got pretty active moderation since the community is close and small, so anything going wrong can be addressed immediately. Similarly, they have the same types of moderation tools like VRC, such as blocking, muting, hiding avatars, etc
Furry or not, the game have some nice people around(ofc also the not so nice people), but so far it's been a nice place to develop stuff and just the famous ''fuck around and find out'' is really good! I wish the game he good things that can happen!! Amazing video!!

The thing which surprised me .. there is no mirror dwellers, actually it's because the game was designed around physical interaction between people and not only social as VRchat. On vrc some avatar include some features.. but it's a little bit wacky some times.. and it stays personal...
In Resonite.. everything is sharable, even your avatar inspector ahaha.. It makes avatar creation not a lonely boring task on blender or unity, but a funny social event, where you can experiment with all your friends and making shit x)

I guess when you have so much freedom to do whenever you want, there is literally nothing stopping you from making something happen. Mirror Dwelling might be a thing, but with the player base being much smaller as well and less utilized to casual consumers, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are eventually mirror dwelling activities occurring as the game grows

I’m totally fine with them to do whatever as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. Used to be a massive furry hater a while ago but changed over time when I realized that the worst of it was such a small minority of the actual fandom. It’s not for me but I ain’t gonna get too much on anyone’s case for being one

That’s pretty noice, been running PCVR for a hot minute now and it’s been great! I know Quest support is in development, but I don’t know how far along it is as of rn
Native quest support is gonna be awhile away. It's gonna need a lot of optimizing to be able to run on a quest. The quest can barely run Roblox on lowest settings.
But quest link has gotten pretty good. You don't even need to use SteamVR to run it with link.
yeaaa.. Optimisation takes time; I myself use quest link ever since I got my quest, but most of my quest friends don't own a vr compatible PC :(

I love that blessed empire had that card. I know him from vrchat they are great people. I miss going to creator jam in neos from time to time. I find that going from vrchat to neos and other social vr is like visiting a different town or city. I should hop onto resonite to visit some old friends.

Well got good news for you! Creator Jam is still a thing! Every week they do something and I believe every month the members of the server vote on that month’s topics.

9:45 I am like half a furry. Not really a furry but I do like anthro animals but I tend to prefer being a human in VR, sometimes, but occasionally I do like being a furry. Specifically if everyone else is furries.
So basically im a furry chameleon. But not like my fursona is a chameleon... You know.
That’s honestly fair, I just left it there for shits and giggles with context for the head shrinking, lol
I think Resonite looks like an absolute marvel, functionally. There's something about the way the game is rendered that makes it graphically much prettier than VRChat. My problem is that as a non-furry, it looks like it'd be an incredibly alienating experience, albeit unintentionally. That's the primary reason I remain on VRChat. The other reason is because I know Unity, I do not know Resonite's avatar system.
I wouldn’t let those aspects stop you from enjoying it. As shown in the video, there are people who aren’t furries playing it, and everyone was super willing to not only help, but also showcase their work. I expect that obviously some finicking around is necessary, but your projects can be viewable by anyone, so help is literally a player invite away
@@DaBloodyResh It's still something I'm certainly going to look at, because I do think there is something to be gained out of curious people straying from the bandwagon. Again, Resonite is probably the most polished innovation of a VR social application I've seen. Outside of what I mentioned previously, the only other huge issue I think I can see is the complexity. I personally find it exciting, but it's not very user-friendly to someone who just wants to buy a Booth avatar, throw it into Unity, and upload it to the game. From what I've seen, bringing in a custom avatar is a much more involved process.
Regardless, this may be a little side-project of mine. Who knows, maybe I'll (and many others) feel at home despite it all!

The desktop experience is actually pretty nice, ended up messing around with it a bit as I’m beginning to prepare for a Resonite follow up vid
I want so bad to try it, i wish i could develop quick adventures in which any avy could use their props to accomplish the task (kind of TADC adventures), i think that would be a nice way to come up with new ideas for users and developers, also i think resonite has an amazing potential to let us create virtual experiences to learn about teamwork and to explore the point of view and the personal narratives of everybody. I hope i will be able to join soon.

Resonite is so much fun, like you I dont know much about how to do things in game. I played a lot in neos and have a few ideas I want to bring to life in resonite but just dont know how to do it lol. Everyone in the community is so nice to hangout with and tbh unlike vrchat I completely fine with going into public worlds. I sometimes just leave my worlds public when im making stuff. I hope you have lots more fun in resonite if I ever meet you in game itd be fun to show you some stuff.
I can agree with this. I’m a bit dumb so the whole “Resonite coding” stuff isn’t gonna work too well with me, but it did feel like a breath of fresh air joining a public feeling a lot more safe knowing there’s not gonna be crashers or just shitty people. VRC has a lot of really cool stuff as well, but you do have to look a bit more since the game is so much larger

As a junior programmer and somewhat experienced vr developer I am scared how many efffort and time it took to make all these ideas work together. I think that I will make the right decision to go for magistrate in university as a vr developer. It's so fascinating that I will work on these hard yet amazing stuff

Only reason people don't get into resonite is because it requires experience with unity to do things.

One thought would be to make the buttons super customizable for desktop and/or vr, so I can at least become used to resonite with vrchat controls
While the option might be there (I didn’t mess with the controls options too much), there are so many new features and little things that I didn’t show off that there’s no way you could really get the same familiar feeling
You can customize your ui as well as make custom tools that are easier to use so that shouldn’t be a problem

I really Should just take the plunge into some social VR stuff, I've stayed away from VR Chat because nearly everything Ive seen on it is just kids being loud and obnoxious. This gives me more Chill Second-Life Vibes and I am all for that. But finding an Avatar base looks freaking difficult. I see a bunch of stuff on VR Chat Avatars, and have seen some things on converting VRC avatars to Resonite but, finding one I would wear has been difficult.
I would definitely give VRC another try, but stay out of public lobbies. If chaotic nightmares aren’t your cup of tea I heavily recommend looking up some communities and giving that a shot. Resonite is a fun experience with a lot of really cool stuff nonetheless tho, and while the community is a lot smaller, you can pretty much guarantee that any non-newbie is gonna be really nice and helpful.
Glad this popped up in my recommended really nice video and I really love how chill you are with everyone also even if you're not a furry a protogen is a good choice for an avi because its a sci-fi species thats part cyborg it was made buy a furry but i consider it to be kinda of a neutral avatar but if you fell more comfortable in a human avi thats understandable, also hope to see more great vids from you
