Alarielle is weaker than a generic Incendiary Archmage (once dragon mount is unlocked). Both in magic and melee. Or any LL. But Avelorn has the strongest faction benefits by far and very good starting position, so still worth it.
Wouldn't bother with the sword of Khaine though. It takes some time to build up global control via multiple 16+ level handmaidens and confederated LLs. By the time you get enough global control buffs to maintain 100 control everywhere, buffing one army out of many isn't worth much.

Yeah I'm just going to level her up and then send her on a continuous tour of the land while attacking with other lords

It can be worth it if you send that army into the jaws of death itself.
And yes she doesn't have the military prowess herself as the others, though she'll find it far easier to confederate the others.

Good... I just started an Alarielle campaign
