- Gene editing allows scientists to change gene sequences by adding, replacing or removing sections of DNA.
This animation explains how this technology works, as well as its possible ethical and societal implications.
Produced by the Royal Society in conjunction with Wellcome Trust.
What if gene editing can be used by certain groups of people for solely malicious intent? Like what if it gets into the wrong hands, and an accidental discovery of a new gene combination that leads to a new disease can be spread around?
Yeah that’s the concern with all this scientific advancement 😕
Dr he jiankui was arrested in 2019 for gene editing babies
Beautiful animation.
I think we should ban electricity from the world, because you know someone might make an electric chair.
😑
Do you kiss your mother using that brain? I bet you believe Nuclear energy is green energy too... only Iran should not have access to green energy... 🤪
LMAO
The animation is so well done omg SUBSCRIBED
And this is gr9! I didn't know about gene editing....
Regarding; Genetic Repair.
Try using a small amount
(1 tenth to 1/8 of a gram)
of the amino acids
L-Ornithine +L-Arginine, subcutaneously.
This will trigger a molecular chain reaction, as in chemical bonding, that will correct ANY errors in your genome.
Good luck and God bless.
Carol R. from California
Thank you!
@@AhJodie the shot of amino acids must be taken subcutaneously.
Your welcome.
God bless you and your family. 😊
I don't think we should be afraid of that kind of technology, just imagine how many lifes we could save.
You’re right also we should be mindful of what goes on in the future. A bunch of kids got sick from a cell tower
Very well Explained. Thanks!!!
I don’t understand why designer babies are a bad thing, I’m a small dude altering my genetics enabling me to be 6’1 would have increased my quality of life. However this is just my opinion and I’d like to here why people think designer babies are bad
Ever watch the movie GATTACA?
Yeah. When I was watching that part for a school project, I was also confused.
Designer babies are a bad idea. We have seen with dogs and cats what it can do. The problem is that it’s other people who are designing you. What if your mom wants you to be a freak show because that appeals to her?
@@Lexiewithan_ewhy
It has the potential to be a bad thing. Many moms will want their kid to stand out and order purple eyes for example. And then that kid wlmay have a difficult life as a result. I think there should be law that it used only medical reasons or will have clear benefits not pointless cosmetics.
Thanks a lot! this made my biology classes much easier. :)
The potential for Positive pharmacological benefits were not mentioned here , they SHOULD be !
Remarkable advancements in science!
I'm scared for this, it will be abused until we are too late to turn it back.
BarelyInfected
like plastic surgeries
you may be scared but as a person with genetic illness I'm hopeful
Well explained!
The World need a RULE book to use this kind of TECHNOLOGY.
You mean BIBLE?
well made
can you explain how editing dna process is? isnt dna is millions in our body, so which is edited? entire dna or just one single dna, its really confusing me. and how did they cut and replace such ultra small pieces in exact place.
Well explained 👌🏻
Why are they so secretive on explaining how they can locate genes #1 and why don't they show how there able to both view and change genes codes
whats the meaning of gene editing?
I want to know the negative sides too
Que vídeo tan interesante brother
Plz give me written form
This so gooder than bestest
Would be lovely if this technology could heal PKU, because I don't want to be restrained by the illness, but It's just a wish since just working for the money to pay for it would take at least 40 years
Thank you
But does Gene Editing affect every cell in the body?
I was wondering... Can you literally alter your genes on a chromosomal level and pass it down to children? I heard you have to modify the genes early at conception before your DNA is set.
im here because of my research and im finding a title
Would be interesting experimentimg with this, I personally would like to know if we could bring back some traits lost to evolution, like feromone senses or just generally modify how humans looked, can we have some weird ass shit mutations
3:44 sounds familiar!!!
Slow the aging process by gene editing ? Forever young!🤔
hats off man
Got to the essence of it.
What about the NO GMO movement?
A Man who fears , Draws his Monsters faster.than one who doesn't fear 👁️ a Moral Compass will only lead you to Your Moral Grave. Not Away
Viva la clase de Stefi
there's a lot of benefits if everyone follows the rules. Unfortunately, just like Internet, there will be lots "bio-hackers"
Honestly that sounds too cool to say no too
Don't worry about them. They are too ignorant to make anything work. They are the homoeopathy doctors of molecular biology.
And here some negative side already came trough: COVID19
please bring back dinosaurs just like henry wu did.
This video has Umbrella Corp written all over it
I own my DNA
this is an absurd technology, imagine you can create plants that survive on mars, animals that can replicate faster. Imagine the great benefit it could bring ....
Humans should stop playing God
starfoula
Strange creatures found death by sea shore .. ..
What are you talking about ? Strange creatures?
Building a trans humain army
i think me no know nuting
No matter what humanity can never surpass ageing.. however you can delay it but there is no stopping it
Wrong. There was a guy with an extremely rare condition where he was born very aged then as time passed he became younger to the point where he died
What is this accent ?
Sounds like RP (received pronunciation, essentially standard) British to me
Satanists.
dumbass
Lol your dumb
wrong
how
Why are the parents labelled as DAD AND MUM THIS TRANSPHOBIC CIS-NORMATIVE BIGOTRY MUST END
🙄
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
