Great video. Love to hear more about Kent, sounds like an awesome dude. Any person with a hobby/passion needs a Kent in their life. I had a similar experience learning to DJ as a teenager, this one older guy showed me the ropes and never made me feel stupid for asking questions. Really gave me lots of encouragement to keep learning.

Looks so cool. Love how the features don’t really takeaway much ‘skill’ from the barista, it just adds things! 👌🏻

I borrowed the idea of steam purging.
I now apply that on my Cheapo Thermoblock lol
It doesn't even have a solenoid valve

It is cool that they are trying new things. I like the auto purge. That is pretty great. I do see the concern of the moving parts. I guess time will tell, but something tells me they have been testing it for awhile.

Startet to work with this machine today, because our actual machine broke. I was sceptical at first, because I always worked with these standard bayonette-motion machines. But I really have to admit that the work flow with the kb 90 is absolutely fantastic. It's a completely new feeling but after getting used to it, I just don't want to go back to the old Machine.

Like that Nicely tidbit at the end! Seemed like he was making an excellent point regarding latte art. Specifically, where one's awareness should be during the pour. Is there by chance more conversation you captured? I'm curious about the rest of that sequence haha.

I like the HOME BARISTA hat. Also I keep trying to find a pro barista to do an industrial ergonomics video with and of course nobody wants to do it (I own a physical therapy clinic). Sure it's not going to sell coffee, who cares, I just want to have fun helping people. Lastly, chucking a deuce is just not something that should be done to anybody lol.

  • @ddgrunau

Do you think this new way of putting the portafilters into the machine makes the machine more prone to breaking? Because it has a lot more parts? Or do you think it even eliminates some parts breaking because you dont twist the portafilter anymore? Let me know what you think! :)

Seriously. Don't take it away. I even hate that commercial machines don't have levers. It's like not being able to have a sports car with a manual transmission. You lose some soul. I get it for a commercial, high-volume application, but still. There's something dissatisfying about it.

So you have a guy who's "worried" about his longevity in the field because of twisting a porta-filter into a machine? Yeah..okay..and he probably goes to a health club to workout, and doesn't worry about that exercise..OMG...please...
