Or walking into a library or book store and choosing a random book, looking in the back to the last page and say there's 431 pages, ask someone a random number between 1-431, go to that number and pick a random line and use that.

Love this video! I love the idea of writing but I've never really been struck with any ideas. I'm always looking for advice on this. I really like the prompt tip, I'll definitely be using that one to practice writing without the stress of coming up with an idea from scratch.

Funny. As I was watching the video an idea hit me. And I struggle to think of ideas, like REALLY struggle. It was not a 'this is what the story will be about' idea, but just a scene. A scene that could be developed into a minor plot, which could The be developed into a story and then into a Novel.
The idea actually came to me when I read a comment that said 'Just pre-ordered shadow crown'. It might have been the word *Shadow* , but, I don't know.
Me at some scene of the video: Maybe I should use the idea of a Phineas and Ferb episode. I liked that episode.

I realize your tip of opening another author's book and a line to expand upon is only to get the creative juices flowing. However couldn't that be copywrite enfrengement? I know when I publish a book one day if someone used one of my books for that and publishes it with the line being exactly the same as my book or too similar I would be very angry.
That's why I said you can always change it later.
