Swords 'n Magic and Stuff - Farm 'n Forge Update Launch Announcement!
We just launched the long-awaited Farm 'n Forge update for our game! You can check it out now on Steam!
And guess what! The game's on sale from now until July 26th at 12pm PST for 25% off! Grab it while it's dirt cheap!
The Farm 'n Forge update brings an entire new zone to the game, farming, cooking, tailoring, woodworking and of course, blacksmithing. Along with a ton of new quests, mounts (horses and more), new monsters and enemies to fight, and a whole new cast of characters.
We've added over 500 new items to the game in this update, which WAY more than doubled what it previously had. We practically made a brand new game!

Well, I just spent about 6 hours playing the new update. I made a new character, got to about 2.6k gold, little more than half what my main character before had, did as many of the quests as I could before going to the mainland. Loving it so far! Keep up the good work.

Of course! You might need to be extra careful fighting some of the meaner creatures from the update, but everything is balanced for single player first.

ok, kinda going off the rails here...getting lazy or something...this is the same footage from your q & a I believe... with no clarification about anything...your old videos were good, hell they even inspired me...now I feel like you've lost yourself...I'm no longer interested in this title.

Either is fine, but if you're looking for a CZcamsr who also makes games, you're in the wrong place. I'm a game developer who uses CZcams as a platform to talk about my development when I have time (and the energy) to do so. But lately with this update I've barely had time to breathe, let alone write and record an entire devlog.
I'm glad I inspired you and I'm sorry I don't have more time to dedicate to those types of videos, but this update is our focus and we're posting pretty typical marketing content to go along with the game. We did the same thing at launch, basically.
If you want to be inspired, go play the update and take a minute to appreciate that 5 developers produced nearly everything new in the game in only two months. More devlogs just like the old ones will come soon once things have slowed down a bit more on our end. And trust me when I say that "laziness" is NOT the reason.
@@MichaelKocha I'm not interested in youtube content. I'm a simple man and know I'll catch a bunch of internet "flack" for my opinion but..I see you going down a different road than when you started.. I will call it like I see it. If it offends people, yourself included, then maybe they/you should be offended. I wish you would just make a fun game and not worry about "fluff"...look at your initial videos here on youtube and think about the plans you were laying out there... This is not reflecting those goals...you seemed to be big on MP co-op with dungeons and pvp in mind wrapped in a fun game...it feels you "think" you need to be more professional or something and build games like a large studio..but that's plain silly...if it's a good game people will play it. Getting your game noticed is important, I get that. Having your wife jump on(a while ago now) was a good move(IMHO) and feeding the family is also crucial...but I revert to my statement about the games current state and what feels like feature creep as opposed to doing what you initially set out to do. I'm only responding because I feel I should be honest, try not to take offense. I think the title could still end up good, I bought it when it was released on steam, I'm just no longer interested. I am a little worried about your question if I am interested in youtube content or games(whatever the wording was)...it bothers me the focus is not games and that videos are such a large focus...once a quarter would be sufficient, just putting out info...you don't need to do something because other studios or channels do it(q and a video comes to mind). You also didn't nned to talk about letting your old coder go(maz???)...that felt like a negative statement towards him/her...seemed* like throwing shade....they might have been an ass...no idea...but you just don't do that...

@@nowherebrain So, I'm unsure what game you were watching videos for before the game came out, but things like farming and crafting have been planned from the very beginning just like co-op dungeons and PvP. Michael's output of videos is actually super low, he's constantly forgoing making one to make sure his focus can be on the game instead, and has said as much in previous dev logs.
Swords 'n Magic is a passion project, but the people working on a passion project need money to pay bills just as much as any other studio. So putting out videos for updates is crucial to get people to notice our game! I'm not sure why you suddenly feel that the focus of the studio is no longer the game when we just spent over 4 months on this update with almost 0 videos put out in that time...
This entire big comment doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you've truly been following along with the game and the channel.
