  • Venezuela has two competing presidents - Juan Guaido and Nicolas Maduro.
Neither seems able to fix the mess that the country is in.
Will parliamentary elections only make things worse?
And why can’t the opposition agree on their strategy?

Considering that the election was "won" illegitimately by blocking the opposition, jailing dissidents, silencing critics, denying international observers, and Maduro upholding his grip on power without provable support by the population, you could argue that there's 2 "leaders", according to their constitution. Guaido is the interim president until legitimate and genuine elections are held.
Maduro has ran the country to the ground. Without destabilizing forces such as Russia, Iran and Turkey, we'd see a stable Venezuela today.

Before Chaves, Venezuela's poor and middle class were struggling and needlessly dying. There was homelessness everywhere, healthcare was not available, education was not available and there were no jobs...no hope. This was Venezuela under a "puppet" president put in place by the US government. Under Capitalism the vast majority of Venezuelans lived in poverty, without hope of anything improving.
Things were so bad that when Hugo Chaves decided to run for president over 70% of the people voted for him and he won. This was a disaster for America because a Socialist had just defeated their agenda. Things were going to get ugly! America at that time had total control of Venezuela's oil and now they were about to lose control of it.
President Chaves took over and immediately began an aggressive push for Social programs to help the poor and middle class. Within a few years the poor were working, going to schools, received healthcare, and now had places to live. During that time people began to believe they could have futures. The people loved Chaves and they believed in him. America not happy was pist. They were trying everything from assassination attempts to coups in an effort to bring him down. When they couldn't, America decided to starve the people using Sanctions hoping they would bring down Chaves...it didn't work.
Just before he died Chaves handed the presidency to Nicolas Maduro who promised to continue his legacy.
America is still using sanctions and killing thousands of innocent people to please about 20% of the riches people there. Young lady, you are a US government tool pushing propaganda and you don't know anything about what you're saying. Venezuela was doing great until America started interfering so, i blame everything on the American government.

Obviously you were fed loads of lies! I had a free education, I used free healthcare before Chavez and Chavez propaganda plans didn’t last long. Look at Venezuela now! Corruption and more corruption. People must be poor and needy so they can be controlled and keep those in power for ever. For this fake elections people were threatened in the worst imaginable way! No vote, no food that’s what they told people. Anyone defending criminals is also one of them
