- Venezuela has two competing presidents - Juan Guaido and Nicolas Maduro.
Neither seems able to fix the mess that the country is in.
Will parliamentary elections only make things worse?
And why can’t the opposition agree on their strategy?

Venezuela has 3 Presidents. I am the third. My friend in India has recognized me as the legitimate President.
El Presidente! Just say the word & my men will deal with that pretender ***** Maduro!
One is president and other is pretender.
One is a dictator the other a pretender.

They don't have two presidents.
Considering that the election was "won" illegitimately by blocking the opposition, jailing dissidents, silencing critics, denying international observers, and Maduro upholding his grip on power without provable support by the population, you could argue that there's 2 "leaders", according to their constitution. Guaido is the interim president until legitimate and genuine elections are held.
Maduro has ran the country to the ground. Without destabilizing forces such as Russia, Iran and Turkey, we'd see a stable Venezuela today.
@@SerenityM54L2SAM5L5N1 You sound like Trump. When you win, it's legitimate. When you lose, it's illegitimate. Countries with far fewer resources are better off with a socialist ideology. They happen to be in Europe and white, so the US, UK, and the EU don't interfere in their affairs.
@@SerenityM54L2SAM5L5N1 this wasn't an election , Maduro is constitutionally elected Venezuela president and the other guy who I can only remember being named juan guano , is cia backed coup leader.

A video about 5 Veto Powers in UN. How they got it and are exercising it would be a good one.
Reporting on Venezuala without detailing "capital flight" and explaining how sanctions have affected the capacity to trade is warranted. Otherwise its just propaganda.
Problem is, society gives governments to much power. Like a dog, you never know when it'll turn on you.

Well not all dogs are. Some dogs like pitbulls do turn on owners. There are many incidents of pitbulls that killed their owners.
U are asking why Maduro is still holding on to power? Because is he one Venezuelan vote for in case u remember. No one for guado. Being recognized by outsiders and being for by own citizens is different thing
Please watch Maduro’s interview with Jorge Ramos. You can learn a lot about slant, right-wing, propagandist, imperialist journalism from the U.S.
That is Sad Fact. I hope Venezuela get better one day.
Easy: one got democratically elected and the other one got illegally and baselessly nominated by the Empire.
Those were deemed as rigged.
"democratically elected" lmaoooo
So much ignorance in these comments! Only hurtful statements that repeat the same old story! Opinions based on “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” while people in Venezuela are being oppressed, denied freedom and basic rights...none of these are caused by sanctions but by corruption from their own people who sold the country to the idea of Socialism of the XXI Century. A failed system that only brings misery to its people and riches to their traitors. Shame on people who defend thugs like Maduro and his friends.
@@eugeniagonzalez5150: White.
You obviously don't know what really is happening, or everything we have been through...one is a dictatorship that's deep into narcotraffic, that for more than 20 years have been destroying the country, the citizens, the land, our liberties, everything!!!
The other was the guy on whom the opposition put all the weight on, because we have a crappy opposition...but he won his sit on the previous parliamentary elections, that we managed to win despite having the whole system tricked and against us. I invite you to travel to Venezuela and talk to the people that actually lives there and hear what they have to say....

Not because the US say Guido is a president doesn't mean he is a president. Venezuela has one president. His name is president Madura
Random guy named Juan
Juan Guido is irresponsible, regardless of Maduros dictatorship, Sanctions hurt civilians unecesarily!
The sanctions are recent and are not the cause of the Venezuelan disaster. Maduro’s regime is corrupt and narco terrorist. They keep people hungry on purpose just like Cuba whose orders they follow. Have you ever heard of El Foro de São Paulo? Communism controls people’s stomachs and minds to retain power. Sad
This video doesnt tell you anything important. Why not talk about the policies and corruption that led to the way it is now? Why not explain who Maduro and Guaido are and what they represent?
That’s a lie u left out the numerous assassination attempts on Chaves and Muduro
Worst human invention ever: money.
2 months work to buy a dozen eggs, this is just sad
A friend from Zimbabwe once told about having to use goats as collateral in order to get some kind of loan from the bank and that bags of money were barely enough to buy milk and bread.
Sandra; an interesting and extraordinary report. We must discuss this in person sometime.
America has two presidents, too. Donald Trump and Kanye West. 🤣

2 presidents. Wow. What type of journalism is this
Venezuelans please vote and bring peace ✌️ You have to make everything better yourself, everyone else is gonna destroy.
Badri Upadhyay it seems like the longer Maduro stays in power the situation in Venezuela is going to get worst.
Seems like neither candidate is popular, but they should both focus on the issues at hand. Support those citizens in need rather than making it a popularity contest. Politics in general is all talk and no action
First, Maduro is not a candidate! He is an usurper who wants to stay in power. Check out The Foro of São Paulo which is a regional plan to control the region indefinitely using a false Democracy to legalize their power. People must stay poor and hungry so that they can be controlled...Cuban guidelines.
El pueblo venezolano esta sufriendo 😔

the people suffer
We should remember, USSR once used to spend hefty somes of money on military but end up collapsing and disintegrating because it had weak economic policy and conditions in the same way Nicolas Maduro cannot survive or cannot rely totally on the army, civilian militias or military to make his regime surviving as when people stomachs are hungry they do everything to try to bring change
Change will come to America before Venezuela
As Maduro failed to deliver he should resign and pave the way for free and fair election under independent international observers. Only it can save Venezuela

Venezuela doesn't have two presidents.. love him or hate him, Maduro is the only Venezuelan president.
这是你的祖国啊!
Before Chaves, Venezuela's poor and middle class were struggling and needlessly dying. There was homelessness everywhere, healthcare was not available, education was not available and there were no jobs...no hope. This was Venezuela under a "puppet" president put in place by the US government. Under Capitalism the vast majority of Venezuelans lived in poverty, without hope of anything improving.
Things were so bad that when Hugo Chaves decided to run for president over 70% of the people voted for him and he won. This was a disaster for America because a Socialist had just defeated their agenda. Things were going to get ugly! America at that time had total control of Venezuela's oil and now they were about to lose control of it.
President Chaves took over and immediately began an aggressive push for Social programs to help the poor and middle class. Within a few years the poor were working, going to schools, received healthcare, and now had places to live. During that time people began to believe they could have futures. The people loved Chaves and they believed in him. America not happy was pist. They were trying everything from assassination attempts to coups in an effort to bring him down. When they couldn't, America decided to starve the people using Sanctions hoping they would bring down Chaves...it didn't work.
Just before he died Chaves handed the presidency to Nicolas Maduro who promised to continue his legacy.
America is still using sanctions and killing thousands of innocent people to please about 20% of the riches people there. Young lady, you are a US government tool pushing propaganda and you don't know anything about what you're saying. Venezuela was doing great until America started interfering so, i blame everything on the American government.
actually health and education were free before Chavez came
I believe that Chavez was "given" cancer by the CIA.
Obviously you were fed loads of lies! I had a free education, I used free healthcare before Chavez and Chavez propaganda plans didn’t last long. Look at Venezuela now! Corruption and more corruption. People must be poor and needy so they can be controlled and keep those in power for ever. For this fake elections people were threatened in the worst imaginable way! No vote, no food that’s what they told people. Anyone defending criminals is also one of them
