I love the explanations on the artist part of the podcast. I think what's going to set people apart is getting music from God Himself. Think about the series "The Chosen." That series raised $128 million!!! Raised!! It was set apart from any other "Jesus" movie/show out there. Nothing is greater than God to get insight from. What sets artists apart is when the anointing is truly in the words. I'm going to tell you, NO music in ANY industry is better than anoited music. When you get anoited music, God elevates you, and the anointing elevates Him. He has to be the center to see different. If your label is what He started, then ask Him to lead the artists to you according to the vision He has given you for your label. Just include Him in it and He will bless it. I just don't think a person that really loves God and is seeking His Kingdom first, God would tell them to make music that doesn't glorify Him in some way. I've listened to a lot of genres of music outside of gospel (heck, let's be real, not all gospel is about glorifying God), and none of it is edifying to the Spirit Man. So my unpopular opinion is, anything outside of God appointed and His Spirit led music, is the flesh. Even though there may not be anything "hardcore" in the music, it still is flesh not Spirit. We have to do this walk with Christ with His Word and the Holy Spirit. We know as we follow on to know (Hosea 6:3), but we can't keep compromising to please our flesh. Im sure in these industries, it can get hard sometimes, but we have to strive harder to please God, not ourselves. That's just my unpopular opinion and I know some may not agree and that's cool, but it's why it's an UNPOPULAR opinion. I still ❤ you Jon though and you are definitely a true man of God. This is just my O & O (observation and opinion). No judgements.
