- Every Pride Month, we celebrate the moments that encourage us to live as our full selves, like when Lea Salonga performed "Love Who You Love" at this year's Broadway Backwards. The affirmation and joy of the LGBTQ+ community is at the root of so much of what we do together Broadway Cares, so just go and love who you love.
The energy of a supportive and loving community filled Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre on March 13, 2023, as distinguished and emerging stars from the worlds of stage and screen came together in celebration of LGBTQ+ stories and musical theater at Broadway Backwards.
The show raised a record $765,069 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. The one-night-only, annual event is produced by Broadway Cares.
The evening is the only annual show on Broadway celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s Broadway Backwards was packed with beloved musical theater numbers stretching from Broadway’s Golden Age to more recent fan favorites, all reinvisioned as songs of love and affirmation through an LGBTQ+ lens.

Lea Salonga is an international treasure...not only the Philippines' pride but of the whole humanity. This song aptly has a universal appeal.❤

She is a literal Disney Princess, I was very misty during this song #pride365 🏳️🌈❤

Artist with a real heart. Without this you can be as technically accomplished as you want, you will fail as an artist.
Not the case here, bravo, Miss Salonga.
Tagos sa puso naman ito. (through the heart)

LOVE YOU MISS LEA ❤❤❤ FILIPINOS ARE PROUD OF YOU..
Love this song! It comes from the musical, “A Man of No Importance”, which I hope to direct one day. Before this, there was a film of the same name back in the 1960s, starring Albert Finney. Very progressive for its time.
Amazing!! ❤ Thank you for sharing.
Not a dry eye in the house, well my house, well, me.
Wow.
Beautifully moving!

Just love who you love, and let no one dictate to you otherwise. ✅

ms. Lea and Songbird in one major concert plsssssss God bless po ms. Lea❤️😘😇🙏
I've been praying for this collaboration for years! It definitely won't happen this year. Lea is currently in a Broadway show (only a few more weeks) and then she will go to London to do a show there for about 4 months (through the end of the year). But I really hope this concert happens one day!
What are talking about Lea is the one and only songbird,

wow, the original kim in miss siagon,,,
Coming to watch this video a dozen more times since I'm tired of all the reaction vids that keep popping up over the dressing room incident. (Not sure why it's necessary for everyone to weigh in with their own CZcams vid. But I suppose if it means less views for the original instigator, OK.)
Mother 😭😭
🙌🏼❤️🥲

" Love who you love " the Whittaker took gold on this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just wan to ask if Lea Salonga has many sets of that outfit. I just wonder why is she always wearing that black suit . Maybe it's her favorite, but noticeable in her several performances, for example, her concert with IL DIVO.
she tweeted before that gowns can be expensive which is why she uses them over and over to make it worth it
She has tons of suits but she was always so simple and it's true that she doesn't mind repeating an outfit. She is also not afraid to walk around without makeup and wears something simple and comfortable. I've seen her upclose and she is beautiful.
In her Il Divo tour, there's a variety of suits. Some with sequins and some doesn't have. She also has pansuit that has sequins on the side.
Lea has different sets of black pantsuits - some with sequins, some not, the lapel shape and size aren't always the same. But Lea also doesn't mind using outfits multiple times - whether it's a black pantsuit or a gown. (Personally, I love that the black pantsuit is Lea's signature outfit now.) Oh yeah - came up with another reason why Lea might prefer the pantsuit to the gown: much easier to travel with!
The more I think about it, I wouldn’t mind seeing Lea perform dressed totally casually. I don’t know that we would see it anytime soon, but having Lea in the signature black pantsuit for half her show and dressed casually for half - bonus points if she wears earrings in all 5 of her pierced ears!
make this broadway forwards tbh

boring... but better than karaoke
Best voice. Worst song.
Not sure why you think it's the worst song - melody? Lyrics? The message? To e each their own.
@@meredithchandler73@notpinoy anti-lgbt he is which is why this is the worst song for him
Lea’s gone woke…🙄
She has a beautiful voice, but she has a bad attitude, tell the fans
“I don’t know who you are “😡
Ummm...she didn't know those people, so they had no business being in her private dressing room. That's not a bad attitude.
Lol! Baliw ka na.
Privacy is a fundamental human right and should be respected at all times. Respecting someone's privacy means acknowledging and valuing their personal boundaries and not intruding into their private spaces or affairs without their permission.
If I were in her position, I would do the same. If you have finished watching the video, she remained kind and granted the request of those disrespectful human being before they left the building. Try to imagine people entering your bath room while you're taking a shower --- would you allow them to do that?
I bet you have the best attitude. 😄 what a bunch of snowflakes
@beautiful6796 obviously you have a BAD ATTITUDE 🥴
