Lovely first reaction to Dimash (you’re correct - he’s had classical training. In fact, he’s still studying music and is en route to get his Doctorate in musicology).
Apart from his magnificent voice, it’s also amazing to realise he isn’t singing in his native language - this is actually the first time he ever sang in Japanese, a language he doesn’t speak!
Please carry on exploring Dimash’s wonderful performances ...

Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. He studied piano and singing. He later graduated in classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. He sings in 14 languages. He has received countless awards and honors at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a

You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He was 22 in this performance and will be 28 this month on the 24th. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "SOS" 2017, "Sinful Passion" 2018, Stranger" 2021, "Diva Dance" at Bastau 2017, "Ave Maria" 2021, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. Each performance will leave you stunned.

As you can see from the comments, you are hearing from Dimash fans from all over the world. I live in an isolated corner of the Pacific Northwest and have been music obsessed for my entire quite long life. That being said, once I delved deep into Dimash's incredible catalog of music performances, all the most important music of my life (and I mean ALL of it) became less important to me. That's how phenomenal he is.

This is his first public performance in Japanese one of 14 languages in which he can sing. But not one of the four that he speaks.
In every one of his performances no matter the genre he sings in he becomes the song.
His genres include rap, hip hop, Rock, pop, ballad, classical crossover, Opera and his native Kazakh folk. He's a consummate performer as well as arguably the best vocalist and vocal technician on the planet right now.

Dimash brings your emotions to a level you never reached before. People who reacts to him for the first time, usually went out of words. Just because before Dimash, we never heard such a wide-range, precise, clean, seamless, effortless, and textured voice with such a variety of dynamics and types of voices in one blended together so intelligently. You just arrived to his world some days before his 28th birthday, on May 24th, and he will gift us that day with a new song called “Okay” composed by Igor Krutoy, a Russian billionaire, singer, pianist and composer who decided to leave his retirement when he heard Dimash to work with him. Now, they both make an inseparable team (father-son like) and have produced some incredible masterpieces created especially for Dimash’s voice such as Ave María, Stranger, Your love. Any song you’ll listen from him will be just better and better than the previous song, because all of them are full of surprises. Enjoy the ride and welcome to Dimash’s world. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery.
If you want to follow Dimash's career progression over the last five years, here is a song list I usually recommend in semi-chronological order: S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse), either the Slavic Bazaar or the 2017 "I Am A Singer" version. His covers from the same competition of Lara Fabian's "Adagio," Eric Carmen's 1975 "All by Myself" (repopularized by Celine Deion), and Freddie Mercury's "The Show Must Go On." Also, from the same show, Confessa & Diva Dance, Opera 2, Daididau, Daybreak, and Autumn Strong. His "I Am A Singer" 2018 guest performance of Lionel Richie's "Hello" is a must. Then there is Sinful Passion (Greshnaya Strast), Love is like a Dream, Your Love, Olimpico (Ogni Pietra) from Igor Krutoy's channel, Diva Dance (Bastau Concert), Across Endless Dimensions (either the movie trailer or his internet live concert performance), and Know (both the regular performance as well as the vocalise). His more operatic-sounding performances are Ti Amo Cosi (with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina), Ulisse (Duet w/Aida Garifullina), Tu Vas Me Détruire (duet w/Sundet Baigojin), Question of Honour (duet w/Zarina Altynbayeva), and the aforementioned Olimpico (Ogni Pietra).
His traditional and Chinese songs are also impressive: Adai+Daididau, Samal Tau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival), Qairan Elim (Holy Land), Elim Menin (My Homeland), Karagym-ai, Thousand of Miles - A Common Dream, and Ómir Óter. And then there are Drunken Concubine & Diva Dance (duet with Li Yugang), Without You, Love Of Tired Swans, Where Love Lives, Unforgettable Day (Gakku Concert), I Miss You, Passione, Give Me Love, Marigold, Golden, Mademoiselle Hyde, Screaming, his latest music video "Be With Me," just to name a few.
His latest songs, "Fly Away," "Stranger," and "Ave Maria," recently debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Super Brothers S2" Youku Show that is simply mind-boggling and well-worth checking out. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/thbgh0qIscI/video.html
Dimash also recently released "Ikanaide,'' performed during the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival live stream, which is absolutely incredible. He sings in nearly flawless Japanese.
Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason.

I loved watching your reaction to Dimash, who is the best singer in the world. I have been a ‘Dear’ (what Dimash calls his followers) for 6 years, after discovering him on the I am a Singer competition in 2017.
Other comments have told you lots of details about Dimash, and his vocal range etc, but it’s not until you see and hear him sing yourself do you fully appreciate the talent he has.
Please look into his catalogue of songs, and work your way through. Ikanaide is one of my favourites, but there are so many different songs which will blow your mind 🤯, Stranger is another of my favourites, but SOS will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first song I heard him sing, and after that I was addicted to Dimash.
What is so lovely about him too is that he is such a humble person, who is trying to bring the world together with his music. Please watch his epic MV The Story of One Sky, and you will see why I mean.
Once you’re down the rabbit hole, you’re in there for ever. Enjoy the journey 😘 x

📌 Welcome! Who is Dimash Qudaibergen? (pronounced: Dee-mahsh Koo-di-bear-ghen)
Dimash Qudaibergen was born on May 24, 1994, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan into musical royalty. Height: 1.91m; 6' 3'. Grandfather played professional dombra, grandmother was a teacher and sings.
His parents are Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva. They have long been known among the people of Kazakhstan and were awarded the title of Honored Music Artist of Kazakhstan: czcams.com/video/-Hhi1x4LqpE/video.html
According to Kazakh tradition, he was raised by his grandparents (Mama and Papa) and for a long time he kept his parents as his brother ans sister in law. They all live together in one house.
Dimash said: “Open my heart, you will find music. If you open my brain you will find music. Music is my life."
He has been training in music since he was 5 years old, has a perfect pitch. He is university-educated with degrees in classical/opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. Dimash also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition. He graduated with honors’. He has composed 12 of his own songs so far and is currently working on his doctorate. We have to call him soon Doctor Dimash Qudaibergen. 😃
Dimash did not fit the traditional image of a singer in Kazakhstan and was criticized. Even his voice teacher forbade him to sing in falsetto ( Interview with his voice teacher - czcams.com/video/V7hkcKYAnhg/video.html ) ... but he was not deterred, won many national and international competitions.
In 2016, Dimash turned down the offer of the National Opera in Astana because he wanted to go his own way ... He created his own genre: neoclassical combined with classical, folklore and other styles such as pop, rock, R&B and jazz. We laypeople say 'Popera'. 😃
Dimash is independent and has full artistic control over himself. He founded his own company named Dimash Ali.
In 2017, Dimash surprised everyone in China. He opened the eyes of his critical compatriots. Today Dimash is a 'cultural ambassador' for his country and a 'national treasure' (not an official title). He himself is a proud Kazakh and patriot.
Dimash plays at least 7 instruments, traditional dombra is a must in his family. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, second language in Kazakhstan), is learning English and Mandarin. He says dancing and Mandarin are difficult for him. So far, he sings in 13 languages. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, ..but Dimash said: "You don't need to know how hard I've worked, you just need to enjoy the results".
Experts consider Dimash to be a lyrical baritone with a typically long range. Dimash says of himself that he is a tenor. Some believe that he does not sing his high notes as a countertenor but as a natural soprano. He is the first singer to sing all 5 voices: bass, baritone, tenor, contralto, soprano.
His current range is G0 - D8 (out of piano)! Vocal range: czcams.com/video/7mo_MjbGSjw/video.html
At least, that show us Dimash. 😃
Dimash's 'heavenly' vocal abilities, from bass to coloratura soprano, are not just limited to the tremendous range of over seven octaves and mixing of all musical genres, but it is the incredible command of his instrument, his voice and the emotional touch of people ... that brings us back again and again fascinates and surprises and again ... Such an assortment is a very rare gift and can only be achieved, maintained and perfected through tireless and never-ending training. Dimash cannot be pigeonholed.
Dimash always wanted to be on stage. As a young boy (3ys), he would often sit in the audience at his parents' performances and run on stage when they bowed at the end, and he would do the same.
In his childhood Dimash trained Taekwondo. He achieves his enormous lung capacity through targeted swimming and diving training, he dribbles very well with a soccer ball czcams.com/video/kt_lokOZLWw/video.html and even takes additional dance lessons for his Dears. Dimash's role models are Lara Fabian, Pavarotti, Igor Krutoy, Andrea Bocelli, Celin Dion, Queen and very important Michael Jackson.
Dimash doesn't drink alcohol and of course he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink ice drinks and he doesn't like socks. Hed love fire and water on stage, as a set of course. 🤣
A Dear gave him knee pads, but he says he's so deep into his songs that he doesn't feel any pain. 😃 Dimash looks good, is one of the 100 most beautiful men in the world and a model coveted around the world.
Dimash is humble, kind, generous, respectful, reserved and very, very hardworking. He donates a lot of time and money to charity, supports people in need and always does so quietly. We only find out because some people feel the need to talk about it.
Go on the journey. He will surprise you every time, touch your heart, feed your soul or push you off your chair. Tissues are always recommended, also for metal heads! Be careful and hold on tight whenDimash takes out the left earbud! Get to know Dimash, his singing, his diversity, his development, his human size, his humility, his love for his Dears ( that's what Dimash calls his fans - they are just as dear to him as his family - and that's many millions of women and men aged 9 to 90 all over the world).
What can he not do? Oops, he can't cook! 😃 Did I forgot something? Oh yes! He sings all the time, all day!
Please, NEVER react to the videos from The World's Best!
For TV viewers, the songs are terribly mutilated and cut together. Most Dears boycott the videos, because: Dimash left the show before the finale because adults in his culture don't compete with children. The organizers lied to him when the contract was signed and they later humiliated him. Eyewitnesses here: czcams.com/video/XQgCJBnRvVk/video.html
A Dear said: „Dimash deserves to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless promotion of world peace to peoples around the world.“ One can only agree!
Thank you, all Dears, for your help (www helped too) ❤ Greetings from a Dear from Germany

Welcome to the world of Dimash. What a great reaction. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. I believe this actually was a live performance in that Dimash sang "Ikanaide" live for the Tokyo Jazz Festival Live stream in January of 2021 as it was being recorded. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash's pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is "expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese" and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but "expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.". Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to "Ikanaide," posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way.
Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series "Farewell, Li Xianglan," filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress and singer during World War II who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends, she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched.
She resettled in Japan, where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. She would go on to become a TV presenter and eventually a politician. She did not return to China for nearly 20 years.
In 1990, "Ikanaide" was translated into Cantonese and sung by Jacky Cheung using the same melody. Later, the song was rewritten and translated for Jacky Cheung to Mandarin under the title "Late Autumn." In 2004 the Taiwanese singer Terry Lin adapted the song into a new version titled "In Deep Autumn," with lyrics written by Daryl Yao.
Dimash chose the 2004 Taiwanese version arranged by Terry Lin with Mandarin lyrics for his performance at the 2017 "I Am A Singer" competition but gave it his own interpretation and titled it "Autumn Strong." This song went on to earn Dimash the "Best Foreign Singer" award during the Golden Melody Award in Hong Kong.

The song "Ikanaide" (Please, don't go) was composed in 1989 by Japanese singer-songwriter Koji Tamaki, with lyrics written by Goro Matsui. It tells the true story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, who was born in China in 1920 to Japanese parents and became a celebrated singer and actress under the Chinese name Li Xianglan. When after WWII her Japanese origin became known, she was accused of espionage and was deported to Japan, never to return to China again. The song speaks of the anguish, heartbreak, and final acceptance of this parting as the ones who love her have no choice but to let her go.
