Dimash Kudaibergen, is a Kazakh singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is university-trained in classical as well as contemporary music, and is known for his exceptionally wide vocal range. He has performed songs in fifteen languages.[6]
Although offered a position at the Astana Opera, he decided to carve out his career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music.[7]
He gained significant popularity in Kazakhstan and other post-Soviet countries in 2015 upon becoming the Grand Prix winner of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus.[8] He rose to fame in China with his participation as a "wildcard competitor" in Hunan TV's Singer 2017 (Chinese: 歌手2017)[9] finishing second overall.

I am 70 years old, and an avid music lover of all genres. I am so glad to be alive to have discovered Dimash, I agree with many of the profesional singers, vocal coaches and opera singers who say that Dimash is not only the best male vocalist alive, but truly of all history. What other vocalist has his range, nuances, style, passion and artistry-I can’t think of any. Most singers stick to one or two genres for which they are famous. Dimash has videos that are operatic in style, rock, blues, rap, ballads, folk, ethnic, world music, you name it. He also sings in 15 languages and plays 7 instruments. Dimash has 2 Masters Degrees, one in Classical and Contemporary Voice, and one for Composition. He has recently received a PhD in Musicology. My head spins with all of his accomplishments at such a young age.

Yep, 7 octave range, sings in 15 languages, speaks 4 or 5. Composes music, writes lyrics, plays at least 7 intruments. Recognised to be pitch perfect at age 3. But above all of that ,is who he is as a person. Soo humble, sees himself just as a man, nothing special. His family values are the highest they cud be loving, caring, ready to give more do more be more without any big headlines. So so generous. Knows that he is nothing without his family and "dears"(fans). This year 2022 he will be 28yrs old this May. Hope u will do many more of his performances. I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

Prof. Rui Baptista, very heartful comment. I agree on it and besides of that I think that his Talent has been given for inspiring Youngsters and perhaps to keep them from evil, esp. certain substances.
Hope he performs someday in your country or in Spain, don't you think so? He won't be coming down to mine, not enough money and not enough public worthy of his Talent.

He was 25 in 2019 which I think was the year of this performance at the concert for the New Wave Competition in Sochi. He will be 28 in May this year. His extensive training and practice is 3 hours per day, so far about 20,000 hours, plus breathing training by underwater swimming for an hour per day when possible, as he travels a lot for concerts, etc. It is assumed by millions of fans/Dears from more than 140 countries that he is the best singer of all time. He became internationally famous in 2017 when he sang SOS in the I Am Singer competition in China as their first international competitor put in to fill a spot, and expected to not get past two events in the 3 month competition. He sang the first song on the first night and broke Chinese internet with 12 million views overnight, waking up to having guards outside his door who accompanied him for the duration of the competition. You had to be Chinese to win because of the prize, but he got to be runner up. This is on CZcams.
You have just discovered a man of destiny that has been placed to fix the use of musical frequencies in the world, as Hollywood has contaminated it all over the last 80 years. His sounds heal depression in some clinics now, and fans also claim to get some degrees of healing from frequently listening to his wonderful endless collection of songs and concerts.
    Greetings from Australia.

You've been Dimashified. Welcome to the world of Dimash. You've just scratched the surface of what Dimash is capable of. Looking forward to more Dimash reactions.
Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio. They accompanied Dimash for this performance and at the end of the video, he humbly thanked them.
The gentleman in white who gave him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash.
The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish".
Dimash modified the traditional vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique as well as an Arabic maqam which is a system of oriental scales, melodic phrases and ornamentation techniques. He did it all to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced these classical and oriental techniques into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.
FYI, do NOT react to any of the World's Best performances. They lied to Dimash and treated him very shabbily and disrespectfully at the end. All the Dears (that's what he calls his fans) refuse to watch any of those episodes. Instead, you can react to the Singer 2017 performances.
PS. You might get blocked for some of the videos especially, Dimash's Stranger 2021 performance. So you’ll need a way to avoid that.

Surprised that you missed the 24 second run at the end full of riffs and runs, was all on one breath. In this performance he was 24, he is now 27, almost 28 in 24th May. At age 5 Dimash began to take piano and vocal lessons at the children's studio of Aktobe's Akhmet Zhubanov Music College. At the age of six, in 2000, he won the national piano contest Aynalayin, in Kazakhstan. He later attended Gymnasium No. 32 in Aktobe.
Dimash went on to complete a Broadway Musical master class in 2009. In 2014, he graduated in Classical Music with Major in Vocal (Bel Canto) from the Music Institute of K. Zhubanov University in Aktobe and began his studies in Contemporary Music (Jazz, Pop) at Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana, where he graduated with Major in Vocal on 27 June 2018. On 18 June 2020, he graduated from the same university with a Master's Degree in Composition by defending his Master's thesis with a perfect score 100%, and receiving a recommendation for admission to doctoral studies in music. He is now writing his thesis (dissertation). He is also a multi instrumentalist he plays several instruments, he dances well, is a charismatic entertainer and at his legendary solo concerts regularly drives his fans wild with his more contemporary songs. He models, is brand ambassador for many of the world's best brands, has his own brand French perfumes and colognes. He is and always will be an independent artist as he needs complete freedom to choose his own musical path in the world. He is phenomenal and will be a major world star, he already is in the Eastern parts of the planet, and in South America he has a huge following, now his fan base is growing rapidly in the rest of the world. He has fan clubs in most countries, and his army of fans he calls Dears, is one of the biggest and most respected in the world. This young, humble, respectful and modest man is going to take over world music in the years to come, in all genre from Opera to Rap he does it all 💖

Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

Dimash has trained in classical singing since age 5 (national music academy), but he has also learned pop methods. You'll notice that he purposely chose that deep classical sound sometimes, a pop mixed belt sometimes and then that high soprano falsetto. And a few times he picked a tone between the classical "bel canto" and a pop sound. He can shade in as much as he wants on any note.
Then he went and did that traditional Kazakh lament (turkic/arabic style) in the middle before the twangy high lift and descending jazz runs. Even the jazz runs were not western sequences but instead turkic style. That's a lot of different stuff coming together in one song.
The band wrote the song in 1998 when Dimash was 4. They are also from Kazakhstan - A-Studio.

Excellent analysis and thank you for pointing out how much hard work he has had to do to get to this level. As far as songs go, you really can't go wrong, but I love Samaltau, Stranger, and Love is Like a Dream. Just understand that he sings in many different genres, so don't be surprised if you pick a song that is a Michael Jackson inspired song or a song with some Kazakh rap. Many reactors have problem with copyright, so they open blur the video or put some effect over it. They also have to pause it often. May I suggest a couple of things when reacting to Dimash: 1) always rewind a few seconds after you have paused for a comment.otherwise you may miss some subtle things he does and/or not get the full effect. 2) always watch his videos to the end so you can see his character when he makes little speeches and/or thanks the band, 3) always turn on subtitles whenever he is speaking. Welcome to the wild ride that is Dimash!

I discovered Dimash about a year ago, after ignoring him in my CZcams recommendations for more than a year. I figured he was just the latest pop "sensation," and I generally do not listen to that genre of music. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have since watched hours upon hours of reactions to his various performances. I mostly watch reactions from professional vocal coaches, many with backgrounds in Opera, vocal students, professional singers, and music producers. I just came across your channel, and like you, I am absolutely amazed by his incredible talent, ability, vocal range and dynamics, delivery, and stage presence.
Here is some information about Dimash. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, but more specifically, he is a native Kazakh. Kazakhs are a separate indigenous people from regular Kazakhstanis. They are the original Nomad tribes from the steppes; there are about 10 million Kazakhs in Kazakhstan who no longer live as nomads and about 1.4 million in China; mostly in Xinjiang, where many nomadic groups remain. Small numbers also exist in Uzbekistan, Russia, and Mongolia. Dimash is a direct descendant and lives traditionally with his extended family. It is custom that the firstborn son of a family is given to a set of grandparents to be raised for at least 10 years. Dimash was entrusted to his paternal grandparents, and they raised him and instilled confidence in him. They raised him to believe that God had a great plan for him, and he should pursue it and dedicate himself to that plan with his entire being.
When Dimash was five years old, he pointed out to his grandparents that the piano was out of tune, and they immediately realized what that plan was. They decided to enroll him in the best children's music school, and thanks to Dimash's parents' relative fame, he was accepted. There he took piano lessons, started singing, and was found to have perfect pitch. His family was determined to afford him every opportunity; there was no room for slack, and Dimash's personality and character enabled him to dedicate himself entirely to his craft. We are now enjoying the fruits of that labor.
Dimash is university-educated with degrees in classical/Opera, contemporary music, pop, and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical master's class and has recently completed his Master's with a concentration in Composition; his thesis was titled: "Personal Image of Traditional Music." He graduated with Honors, achieving a perfect score of 100%. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. as he wants to teach music after his singing career.
Dimash has diligently honed his craft and developed his God-given gift for more than 20 years now, and it shows. I read somewhere that Dimash swims several hours every day to increase his lung capacity. It's not just raw natural talent but tremendous work, dedication, and discipline to achieve this level of performance. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a much-loved national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He was even offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path, and he has been very successful thus far.
He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian as it is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
According to some analysts, his range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. As many probably know, the four registers, from lowest to highest, are vocal fry (pulse), modal voice, falsetto, and flageolet (whistle tone), and Dimash seems to effortlessly navigate between them, often within a single breath and without a break in between. Dimash has even hit a D8 for ~5 seconds with vibrato, the highest note ever performed during any live performance. He sings in multiple musical genres. His primary genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), pop, and world music. He uses musical elements, vocal styles, and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, rock (e.g., screams), RnB, musical theater, even rap, and Tribal and Turkic melismas, which are technically very distinctive and very difficult to master. I am looking forward to your subsequent reactions.

You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery.
If you want to follow Dimash's career progression over the last five years, here is a song list I usually recommend in semi-chronological order: S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse), either the Slavic Bazaar or the 2017 "I Am A Singer" version. His covers from the same competition of Lara Fabian's "Adagio," Eric Carmen's 1975 "All by Myself" (repopularized by Celine Deion), and Freddie Mercury's "The Show Must Go On." Also, from the same show, Confessa & Diva Dance, Opera 2, Daididau, Daybreak, and Autumn Strong. His "I Am A Singer" 2018 guest performance of Lionel Richie's "Hello" is a must. Then there is Sinful Passion (Greshnaya Strast), Love is like a Dream, Your Love, Olimpico (Ogni Pietra) from Igor Krutoy's channel, Diva Dance (Bastau Concert), Across Endless Dimensions (either the movie trailer or his internet live concert performance), and Know (both the regular performance as well as the vocalise). His more operatic-sounding performances are Ti Amo Cosi (with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina), Ulisse (Duet w/Aida Garifullina), Tu Vas Me Détruire (duet w/Sundet Baigojin), Question of Honour (duet w/Zarina Altynbayeva), and the aforementioned Olimpico (Ogni Pietra).
His traditional and Chinese songs are also impressive: Adai+Daididau, Samal Tau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival), Qairan Elim (Holy Land), Elim Menin (My Homeland), Karagym-ai, Thousand of Miles - A Common Dream, and Ómir Óter. And then there are Drunken Concubine & Diva Dance (duet with Li Yugang), Without You, Love Of Tired Swans, Where Love Lives, Unforgettable Day (Gakku Concert), I Miss You, Passione, Give Me Love, Marigold, Golden, Mademoiselle Hyde, Screaming, his latest music video "Be With Me," just to name a few.
His latest songs, "Fly Away," "Stranger," and "Ave Maria," recently debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Super Brothers S2" Youku Show that is simply mind-boggling and well-worth checking out. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/thbgh0qIscI/video.html
Dimash also recently released "Ikanaide,'' performed during the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival live stream, which is absolutely incredible. He sings in nearly flawless Japanese.
Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason. In the finale, he was set to compete against 2 kids; one girl from his home country of Kazakhstan, Daneliya Tuleshova- who was 12 yrs old then, as well as a 12-year-old boy from India playing the piano who would go on to win the competition's $1 million grand prize.
Even before Dimash committed to appearing on the show he had told the production team that he would not compete against children as this is considered dishonorable in his country and because he has been professionally trained for 20 years; hence it would be unfair. So when Dimash announced before the final that he was leaving the competition, the show's producers and judges showed him a lot of disrespect, especially Ru Paul. The available footage was deceptively edited to present the show's producers and judges in the best possible light.
His fans in attendance got pretty upset over the treatment he received during his first major appearance in the USA. Here is the link to a video of two fans who were in the audience for all the performances during the taping of the show. They describe what they witnessed and experienced first-hand: (czcams.com/video/XQgCJBnRvVk/video.html).

I found Dimash in 2017 when he was on a Chinese singing competition called Singer. You can see all of his performances on CZcams. He was 22 and the only non Chinese in the competition. He came in second. These were professional singers ranging in age from 30-60. All were well known in China. I’ve been watching and listening to Dimash since then. When I think he can’t do anything else to surprise me…he does it again. Ave Maria, Stranger, Show Must Go On, Olympico(Arnau concert), Adagio(Singer competition), Love is Like a Dream(the one where he is wearing a purple suit), and it goes on and on. I hope you will continue down the Dimash rabbit hole. His Dears(what he calls his fans)love watching someone new go through this experience. I’m 77 and Dimash is the best singer I’ve ever seen or heard. Bev
