As an American I loved this video. What Nathan has done with ProKick is nothing short of amazing really. The # of players he's placed with major D1 programs is truly incredible. I'm sure I don't have to mention the Polynesian Prince...Jordan Mailata to Aussies. He's captured the hearts of so many NFL fans it's beautiful to witness. He's the best left offensive tackle right now without question to me. Well done Australia !!
In 94-95 I went to Texas on a HS exchange because I wanted to try playing American Football. I played punter on the HS team, it was amazingly fun.
I was lining up to do the same in Buffalo in 97-98. But my trip was cut short. Enjoyed opening eyes with my boot though. Just came so naturally.
Always quality stuff Riles. Thanks. I'm loving seeing so many Aussies in the college system
Great vid mate, love it 🤙
Excellent video.
great job good video
Excellent vid - thank you. My son, a graduate of ProKick Aust, is currently playing D1 College footy. This program provided him with a life changing opportunity to earn a Degree on a scholarship, the experience of living in another country (it's very different to being a tourist) and the sheer joy (and hard work) of representing his college as their punter. He is loving it and we are very proud. With special thanks to PKA - changing Aussie lives one punt at a time!.
That's awesome to hear man, best of luck to him. Glad you enjoyed the video.
nice video
This will be good
There are actually a few of people how have done that and good vid
Love being a Geelong and an Arizona Cardinals fan 👌
Roccas great Aussie rules players never to be forgotten Essendon man
Great video! Next but it would have been even better if u made a clearer distinction between ‘australian football’ and ‘afl’.. we should be proud of our native game - f giving the league all the kudos when ‘australian rules’ are soo good. ✌️
Darren Berry was not the first VFL / AFL player to make a name in American football.
A retired VFL player introduced American football to the 90 yard place kick changing the American game and even resulting in a rule or rules change.
Cant remember the players name but it was early 1900's or late 1800's.
The place kick was the preferred kick of many VFL players pre 1960's , especially full forwards.
The place kick is accurate and the longest kick when done right.
It was fazed out during the 1950's as the drop punt and torpedo became more popular and resulted in less serious leg injuries.
The coaches removed the popular drop kick from the late 1960' s until permanent extinction by the mid 1970's.
The drop kick was the kick of choice by many skilled players but also could cause serious injury and players trained to run across a kickers leg as he kicked , which often resulted in crippling injuries as well as the occasional brocken leg.
Not to mention the many " underground " grubbers kicked by less skilful players. lol
He looks American glad he experienced the golden days in California
What about NFL or college football players coming to play AFL? I feel as tho with the level of skills and talent in both sports both of them could translate over. Maybe take a year or two to get the game and understand it on a different level.
Its a very good concept, and it has been worked before. The AFL have organised a few combines in the past for college basketball talents possibly moving over to afl. Perhaps more funding could mean the concept becomes more likely to bring over more players, possibly from the nfl scene.
Oh so.
