- Lee Anderson lost the Conservative whip after refusing to apologize for remarks about Sadiq Khan on GB News, which the London mayor called “Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, and racist.”
Anderson, the MP for Ashfield, faced widespread criticism, leading to his suspension by the Conservative chief whip, Simon Hart.
Anderson will now serve as an independent MP.

I urge others to make that same switch from the main stream political parties and back a party that can do no worse and will, if they get the change, and I appreciate that's an outside possibility, to make some substantial changes and start the task of saving our country from the "Enemy Within"....... and still flooding across out borders. If the Tory party believe they should sack Lee, they should have acted before Khan made a statement. Sacking Lee AFTER the statement was reactionary, weak and is another example of how poor they are at governing. I’m just glad that I live in an area where homeowners are vetted. More of these communities are popping up around the UK. Amen!
