Same thing happened to me when I got my M1008. I literally saw and smelled the starter motor cooking. I then researched this mod on steel soldiers and did it asap and i have had zero issues since. Everyone over there is very helpful including yourself
Tim, are you available for consultation or repair work? I am near Jewett and an Aggie '97. I have a 1031 that I put a civy body on...the motor was running, leaking fuel, and knocking, so I had it swapped to a 6.2 I had in the barn...and it won't start. I took it to a diesel shop in Waco a month ago...it is clearly not a priority. I appreciate your videos... thank you!

Good Info When I got my M1028A2 in 09 the Start relay, Glow plug bypass,
and AC glow plugs was the first thing I did after changing fluids.
