- Interested in the PNW Components Loam Grips? Well I put them on my Canyon Stoic 2 MTB and did some shredding to give them a full test! Watch the video to hear my full honest thoughts on them!
And here's a link to the grips: thelostco.com/products/loam-g...
My name's Tyler and I love mountain biking! I live in the Midwest United States (not typically known for great MTB riding) and I want people to know that us riders here in the Midwest are awesome too! We don't need huge downhill trails to have a good time! I just got a brand new 2021 Canyon Stoic 2, and this bike has got to be the best hardtail of the year! At least for the price. So I'd at least say the best budget-friendly hardtail of the year! I'm stoked to be able to share it with you guys. I'm also stoked to ride it this summer and let you guys know how it goes!
If you enjoyed this video free to like, comment, and subscribe. I really like making these videos and would be so pumped if the channel grew!
If you live in Southwest Michigan/Northwest Indiana (or really anywhere in the Midwest) let me know. I’d love to hear about any awesome mountain bike spots that you know of.
Cheers!
Tyler

Hardtail 4ever, greetings from Sweden..
Hello from Canada! I enjoy your content a lot, keep up the good work!
Hello from Indiana, US! Thanks so much man, I appreciate it! I’ll try! 😉
They look soo good! Good job picking those!
Thanks man!!!
Thanks for the review! If you don't like the PNW ones, I would recommend Ergon's GA3 grips. I've been using those for a couple years and really like them. I bought a pair of these PNW grips a couple months ago because I really like the way they look and wanted to try them out. And though they were more comfortable than the stock grips that came on my bike, they were nowhere near as comfortable as the GA3s. The GA3s also have a lot more grip than PNW's grips, and I think that was something you were looking for. I hope this helps.
Thanks for watching! And for mentioning the GA3s. I have seen those but didn’t know what they were - they look nice! Do they work well without gloves? Or would you say you still need gloves to get the best grip?
@@MidwestMountainBike I rarely ride without gloves because I find them to be so comfortable. But the times I've ridden without gloves the grip has been excellent, but if my hands are covered in sweat then I think the contact is slicker. I'm not sure if the grips are outright slippery because I don't let my hands get sweaty enough to test this. I just strongly dislike the feeling of any handlebar grips when my hands are sweaty. I'll often-times put my gloves in my pocket for a grueling climb, deal with the sweat as I'm climbing and then put my fresh pair of gloves on for the descent. I hope this helps, and sorry if this is gross to read.
I had these exact same grips on my hardtail. I came from Ergon to these and started experiencing numbness...switched back to the Ergon and the numbness went away
Yea I’d like to try some Ergons too at some point! 👍
Would definitely agree that riding with gloves is borderline necessary with most grips. I’m sure there are more out there like them but the Deity supracush is designed to be ridden without gloves.
Thanks for watching man! Yea I’m really liking riding with gloves actually, but I would be interested in trying those Deity ones at some point though. Thanks! 👊
I always ride with gloves, gotta protect those hands
I have the exact same PNW grips on my Stoic 4 down to the color, dune. I've yet to experience the sweaty hands issue you mentioned though. I also ride with gloves on all the time though so who knows! Good grip for a good price. Their dropper lever is the truth though!
That’s funny, man! Yea I’ve never ridden with gloves before, but I got some gloves shortly after I got the grips and they make the grips so much better!
@@MidwestMountainBike Keep shredding shredding dude! I enjoy your content. Happy trails!
Thanks so much man! Will do! 🤙
Did you convert your wheels to a tubeless setup?
Yep I did. The particular wheels on the Stoic 2 actually came pre-taped and everything so all it needed was sealant and valves. That’s one of the first things I did on the bike. Thanks for watching! 🤙
@@MidwestMountainBike ok thanks. I bought all parts besides the rimtape😅. So now I'm ready to go
Hey, just discovered your channel! I'm also in northwest Indiana and I'm wondering if your in the Michiana mountain bike fb group?
Hey man, thanks for watching! Yep I am a part of that group!
@@MidwestMountainBike sick! Hope to see you on the trails someday!
Did you get the small or the xl?
I went with the size L and it’s been perfect.
got to turn it down when you play music then can't hear you when you talk.
hi bro, translate this because i don't speak english.
Saludos bro🤘
XL PNW?
Your audio levels are way out of whack just fyi
Thanks! I’m still working on my editing. Audio is not particularly easy to work with on the software I’m using! lol
Now 30 bucks and dont last long especially with gloves
