- Judas Priest Guitarist Richie Faulkner talks when suffered a medical emergency during his performance at Louder Than Life Festival that led to a 10 ½ hour emergency heart surgery.
Richie was told he almost die onstage for an aortic aneurysm and a complete aortic dissection.

He is one lucky guy. I’m an OR nurse so I know exactly what this is. I also, coincidentally, had an aortic root aneurysm. Mine didn’t rupture though. It was found by accident and repaired 8 years later. I have a mechanical heart valve as a result. Being in good physical condition for an operation like this makes a huge difference too. But he is a very lucky guy.
So glad he recovered, very scary

basically i would have loved to see Mr. Richie Falcon Faulkner ..the young guitar god ..in full screen more often than you put him ..but i loved that conversation to have the chance to listen to ..i think he was in a real good mood and state ..what chemistry real power has ..yeah !!

As Ritchie is well aware, he should be dead and we are thankful he isn't. So many things had to go right for him to still be here. Think about it, shorter set list, it happened during the last song, he said he would have kept playing, 4 miles from one of the best heart hospitals in America. Imagine if they are playing in a smaller town where the nearest hospital is 45 minutes away, and it may not even be a Trauma Level 1 hospital. To put it into better perspective, an Aortic Dissection can happen to you while you are IN the hospital and chances of you dying are still about 75%. Those docs and nurses pulled off a Million to One shot. So thankful he's still here.

I'm not a religious nut or anything, so no one attack me for bringing this up, but does anyone know if Richie believes in God? Because to me, there is no other way to explain how he survived.
