This prosecutor blew it from the initial charges, when she tried to charge him with something that wasn't even a crime at the time it happened. Just rookie moves from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an ethical inquiry at the New Mexico state bar association. And believe me, that special prosecutor didn't quit because she disagreed with the judge. She quit because she disagreed with the DA - who looks like she broke the law here.

@@FrankBria it wasn't a realistic charge, the da grandstanded. She charged Baldwin with manslaughter bc it was his set as producer and basically said he was responsible for the lack of safety. That is like charging a CEO with fraud if an employee creates an investment scam that goes south, arguing that lax policy allowed this to happen. That kind of thing has basis in civil court, not criminal. If it did there would be a lot of ceo's in jail for crimes subordinates perpetuated.

It was a very weak case. I don't believe him that he never pulled the trigger but there was a professional armorer that handed him a loaded gun on a movie set with live ammo brought in by her. This is 100% on her

New Mexico DA did their own tests on the gun and got it to fire without pulling the trigger, and only by pulling back the hammer. The gun had been modified, and there’s no way he knew that. Also, the armorer did not hand Baldwin the gun, it was assistant director Dave Halls, who took a plea deal. That’s 2 people who were supposed to check the gun before handing it to him.

100% agree with you. When its procedure for them to call out "Cold Gun on Set" yet you are still suppose to handle the gun in manner as if the gun "may be hot" makes zero sense.
And lets not forget that this is a movie set. The actors are handling these guns in ways that on a gun range for example would be not acceptable. They are drawing them aggressively... pointing in multiple directions and pulling the trigger is many cases.
The only thing I will ask is if there is instances of "Cold Guns" being used on sets... why isn't there multiple guns used and some of them designated as cold guns with the firing pins removed? You think this would be common sense for safety.

I know a lot of people hate Baldwin because he's a progressive, but if you're actually Americans you need to understand that a ruling against Baldwin would undermine the role of the armorer and place legal responsibility upon the actor that they should not have, because they are not licensed or trained for it. By their own rules and guidelines, any person who is in a position to operate a firearm on set is required to safety check the gun and it is forbidden to point any firearm at another person, even one that is loaded with blanks.
