    It’s a funny idea, I know. Because I’m sure no fertility clinic that you’ve ever talked to claims to have a 100% IVF pregnancy rate. But that’s actually the point: A 100% IVF rate doesn’t exist! There are, however, many steps you can take before you start IVF to increase your chances of having a healthy pregnancy and baby.
    "The most important fact to know about human eggs is that the age of your eggs has everything to do with your pregnancy rate."

      Mrs. Ruiz thank you for watching! I think that you should ask your doctor: if How many embryos do you think I should transfer to give myself the highest chance for one baby at a time? And why? The way I think of this is the following: if you ever have doubt, don’t do it. Transfer one at a time.

    Our cases differ much but I guess the questions to ask a fertility expert are somewhat the same when planning to go for ivf: Does your facility use ICSI to implant the sperm into the egg? Does your facility conduct both 3 day and 5 day transfers? Does your facility use a reduced oxygen environment to facilitate the embryo culture growth?Are fresh transfers more likely to result in successful implantation than frozen embryo transfers? What are my options for unused embryos? Are my embryos, eggs, and donor sperm stored here or somewhere else? Am I able to wait a cycle after egg retrieval before moving forward with the transfer? Which tests would you advise prior to IVF cycle? Which tests do you
    advise during IVF treatment? Do you perform egg collections at weekends? Do you have a waiting list? and loads of others I was interested in myself...

I have a 9 yr old who I conceived naturally and I’ve had 4 failed IUI’s in 2019. My AMH level checked in the month of March was 1.69 . My Dr said it’s the “normal low”. My main concern is implantation can I do something to help that process? Thank you

      hi Simi!! Thank you for posting this question. I don't think I would call your level "normal low." I would say it's your level and it's great! The question I have: 1. are you doing a fresh or a frozen embryo transfer? If you'e doing a fresh transfer then make sure before your cycle you do a cavity evaluation (saline infusion sonogram). If you are doing a frozen embryo transfer then do implantation testing (ERA + Receptivadx). And if you want, sign up for one of my live classes in eggwhispererschool.com. Thanks doctor you're amazing!

    • @EggWhisperer
      @EggWhisperer  Před 5 lety +3

      Uly Carrillo an AMH level of 2.7 is a really good sign that she probably has a follicle count over 20. When it comes to IVF in this type of scenario, more is better. Each egg has a 10 percent chance of being normal for a woman over 40. Your wife’s level tells me that doing IVF will hopefully be worth the effort. I do mini IVF for women with a lower egg count.

    Hi Dr Aimee! I'm 40 and start my first IVF cycle this month (had my baseline earlier this week and am on birth control pills until my shots get here). I had a miscarriage after an iui a few months ago.. In what instance(s) would you recommend transferring 2 vs 1? Like you, my clinic is pretty strict about only transferring 1 at a time, especially after DNA testing (which they'll be doing). My concern is, we WANT two kids but have been trying for a few years.. I'm still waiting for my AMH results from this week (should have it this weekend), last year it was at 1.01 at 39. My mom went through menopause at 33 and I'm already showing symptoms of perimenopause. So I'm just concerned my chances with only one won't be as good.

    • @EggWhisperer
      @EggWhisperer  Před 4 lety +3

      hi Kristina! Great question. I would transfer more than 1 if you haven't tested your embryos without hesitation. Since you want two kids, I would have you consider this if not testing: do several IVF cycles. It could take 3-4 cycles to get one strong embryo. So if you get one strong one the first cycle, consider freezing it and doing more IVF to get more since you are still making eggs.

    Hi Amy,
    Is there a higher chance of success with progesterone injections vs the suppositories?
    Thank you

    • @EggWhisperer
      @EggWhisperer  Před 6 lety +3

      It really depends. I tell patients "skip one and pregnancy is done" and what that means is this: If you skip one vaginal suppository, you aren't giving the pregnancy the progesterone it needs and the pregnancy will stop. If you find it hard to adhere to a schedule of: 8 AM, 2PM and 8PM every day with the suppository (ie you can't sleep in until 1PM on a Saturday and place your first endometrin) ......then the shots are for you! If you are diligent, can set timers and will never forget a suppository: then in my humble opinion, the suppositories are really good. And when I talk about suppositories, I'm referring to the two Rx we have available to us right now: endometrin and crinone. Not meds like prometrium or progesterone creams/compounded types.

    I need your hep to figured out before we decide for the right treatment, IUI or IVF.
    I am 40 and my husband is 43. We did all our testing to know what’s causing infertility for us. My all report came normal, and according to my age, the Dr said I come under good egg quality. However, my husband has total sperm count around 12 million, concentration 4 million/ ml, and Motile is 9 million.
    According to your view and expertise, what do you recommend us for the treatment: IUI or IVF? Also, fresh or frozen transfer is viable?

      Best thing is to ask your doc about your results and then ask about your options. If the menstruation is irregular because your egg count is low, well know that this happens to all of us. I would take coq10 and use an ovulation predictor it if you can't figure out from your body's signs when you're ovulating. Then have sex during that time. If your cycles are irregular because of a hormonal issue like PCOS then also talk to your doc about treatments that work.

With me and my husband being fairly young, pretty healthy, and no medical problem or fertility issues- if we do ivf approximently how many shots would I have to do? I'm terrified of needles!!!

And my doctor said my womb is really good and in a good condition that IVF treatment has 80% of chance to work at first time ! But um not sure! What can I do to make sure that it will be successful in one attempt?

      I'm excited for your future! This is very exciting indeed. To be this close to a possible future pregnancy is great. I would ask your doctor: 1. have you assessed my uterine cavity? 2 Is my Husband's sperm good? 3. Are my husband's genes and the egg donor's genes compatible? 4. What protocol are you going to use to prepare my uterus for transfer and why? I think if you get the answers to these questions you'll feel more empowered and feel like you're definitely doing everything possible along with taking a prenatal vitamin. I'm sure your doc has done all the necessary tests but sometimes asking these questions helps.

      Siempre Valentine I think it’s great for patients under around 37, who have a very good egg count and even a prior healthy pregnancy. I think that it increase chances about 10 percent above IUI and the cost savings for such a slight rise is something people should think very carefully about. I have had two patients with live births now from it. I have had patients with no embryos from Invocell and then they did ivf and had embryos so my experiences have told me how to guide people.

      During 2ww one should avoid heavy lifting, hot baths and rigorous exercise. Take the whole two weeks off - or at least the first. This is your life and your baby. Nothing is more important. Embryo implantation takes place three of four days after transfer. Stress and anxiety don’t help. Take your medication - religiously. Spotting and bleeding can happen in the two week wait - and beyond. And brown discharge too. Try not to worry: it’s statistically more likely to be okay than not. Your uterus is under pressure from your meds and your embryo. Emotions and nerves can, if you let them, get the better of you. But avoid that chocolate bar - and not just because of the caffeine. Now’s the time, more than ever, to eat a balanced, healthy diet. Go for an even mix of vegetables, fruit, pulses, carbs and proteins. Don’t test early, or expect pregnancy symptoms. Wait for 14 days after your transfer (12 after a day-5 transfer), then test. Sex immediately after an IVF cycle is not a good move. Infections can happen and your uterus can do without the commotion. Twinges and cramps during the two week wait are common. Try not to panic: your womb is in overdrive. In fact, those feelings may mean implantation. Finally, expect the worst and hope for the best. I personally found these tips super useful.

    I found The Egg Whisper from 90.7. I am looking to be connected with someone who knows and understands the legality around donating eggs. (Not fertilized). I have 17 and would like to donate them to someone I know. As I understand it, it will cost several thousand dollars for someone else to use my eggs. Best option is to discard them? I would really like to speak with someone in this space that knows and understands the legality. I've received a lot of mixed messages.

      Mehreen khalid make sure you’re taking enough progesterone, that your uterine cavity has been evaluated and keep transferring. Statistically speaking, at your age you should have genetically normal embryos in that batch so go bring them home
