Fire Alarm Test #53

  • čas přidán 26. 08. 2024
  • Panel Is a newly installed 4100ES at a large Jr/Sr high school/elementary school facility. Originally a 2001-8001, it has been through many phases and this latest is part of a massive expansion which includes IDNAC addressable signaling in new areas. It’s still a work in progress but has come together nicely. The purpose of this test was to ensure operability across old zones with the newer devices.

    This is the coolest system I’ve seen on this channel. Seeing that Simplex 2901-9838 on the 4050-80 light plate at 7:41 reminds me of what my high school mainly has now, except the 4050-80s do 120 bpm March time while the horns and horn strobes do Code 3. They also have 4041s and 9822s in the main hallways and one 4051 in the gymnasium. In the huge mix, there’s also 4903 horn strobes, (9252s, 9219s, and 9236s) an NS in the cafeteria, and a 7002T in the library. But I don’t know what the panel is though, but the pulls are 4251-20s and 2099-9756s. Odd combinations I must say.

    That's a pretty cool mix of Simplex fire alarm devices from the 1970s to the present!
    Interesting seeing those old Simplex 4251-series "Chevron" pulls used with 4051+4050-80 horn/lights. The superior courthouse in my city has that combination, except it was most likely a Simplex 4208 system that appears to have been installed around 1971 or 1972, as the 4050-80 light plates are the earlier recessed version with no "FIRE" lettering on the lens, compared to the kind seen in this video.

    • @ZakWolf
      @ZakWolf Před 5 lety

      UPDATE: The Simplex 4051+4050-80s were unfortunately removed and replaced with Gentex Commander 3 horn/strobes, installed on adapter plates that would be painted to match the wall color. Probably a Notifier or Silent Knight system now or something, but they kept the Simplex "Chevron" pulls. (At least they didn't go with SpectrAlert Advances, like my college and my first elementary school did!)

    • @cricketvisual7301
      @cricketvisual7301 Před 7 měsíci

      They have to use the regular ones to be on the conventional signal lines while the high pitched ES addressable units can be on the addressable signal circuit. For a new install on simplex you would likely see addressable devices, however older non-addressable devices can be grandfathered into the system via. modifications to the nac signaling and supported cards and systems.

    Off topic, but I'll never get use to Siri's robotic voice. Apple should think about giving Siri a more natural voice like Google's Google Assistant and Amazon's Alexa. Nice video nonetheless.

      Thanks for viewing. Unfortunately I cannot change that unless I turn the voice off altogether.

    You may wish to review the beginning of the video. The shot of your phone shows a Simplex account number as well as the address of the panel. Not sure if that's what I'm seeing, but that's what it looks to be.

      Uck. Don't even remind me of that thing. I had to deal with P2Rs once a month every year in elementary school. I hated it.

    while this is nice, NFPA 72 doesnt recommend remote silencing of alarms(FACP).
