I agree with most comments, I love Spiritbox and this is for sure one of their heaviest songs. Don’t give up on them because they do have other songs that I’m sure you’d like.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many Spiritbox songs you could have picked from that would have fit your taste better. Like 95% of their other songs.
that's the thing tho , she didn't pick herself, she got requested this one. I appreciate the honesty and it's totally cool to not like heavy/harsh music either for hearing issues or just not being in the mood. I hope you will give this band another shot because they do have slower/gentle songs you would have liked, you could try Constance, Secret Garden or The Summit
@@sulo67100 The problem as I see it is that knowing her she will never listen to another Spiritbox song so whoever sent this to her seems to not know her current taste or that she refuses to listen to live takes even if they are superior to the album so even if she does listen to Spiritbox again it will be 2026.

Haha, I kinda figured this would be too much for you at this point. Spiritbox is really varied when it comes to their songs. Some are singing only, a few are just brutally heavy like this, but most have a good mix of clean and harsh vocals. I hope you give them another chance at some point, at least to hear Courtney's contrast between both styles.
I always appreciate the honesty and it's one of the reasons I enjoy your videos. There are some other people who give their honest opinions although I'm sure there are plenty who fake it, especially when it comes to popular bands.

I also want to be one of the many people to tell you that Spiritbox has a lots more chill songs than this and I think you can probably find a couple Spiritbox songs that actually do jive with your style.
Do the people who pay you to listen to stuff hate you? Why would they choose this for you? Spiritbox has a dozen songs that fit your taste. This ain't one of them. And don't fall for it if they pay you to listen to Cellar Door or Angel Eyes either.
Courtney's clean vocals are amazing too. You can check jaded by spiritbox. This song nominated at grammys
For what it is worth, I prefer an honest opinion. I look at reactions like yours to discover new music that I wouldn't encounter otherwise. Some I like, some I don't, and I would expect that is the same for everybody. So, keep on doing you, we (or at least I) love you for it.
I love spiritbox lol, but I appreciate your honesty, I'm not sure if you're still into slipknot, but (and I'm not sure if anyone is into this band) but maybe try Mushroomhead, they're not really heavy, I think the tone of the instruments and the vocals would fit your style. 🙂

Heavy music is kinda doing that to me lately too. I like this band especially their more emotional songs, (I don't want to sound like I'm suggesting you to react to anything because I know you get so much of that already) but I've been listening to a lot of jazz and ambient music. nothing againsed rock and metal, it's the love of my life, but it does get numbing and overwhelming. At times
Remember which song you heard from Opeth first, and what happened on the next reaction? The opposite happened here. I wish you would check out one of their softer songs like Ultraviolet, Secret Garden, The Void, Too Close / Too Late. They put a lot of attention into the stories of the songs, and the latest EP is even a concept album where every song is part of the story.
I was actually about to suggest Spiritbox because I figured you would enjoy the lyrics. I was about to recommend one of the easy listening songs from their catalogue, so I'm disappointed that this was the start for you. I've been really getting into Spiritbox for the past months, and even I have trouble getting really into this song. For me it's not even about the growls but the style in general. It's just not the style for me. But I accept it, because many other songs from the band have been moving me like no other band before.
With all that being said, I really wish you give them another try at some point.
Hey! I'm glad you are opening your channel to another metal subgenres. I know it's a tough listen for the first time, but this band and all those genres have much more to offer to people like you. What i love about metal is that it has a spot for everyone, it doesn't matter from which genre they come.
For this particular band, i think you'll enjoy Secret Garden a lot more, it's from the same album and if you listen to those songs separately, you wouldn't think they are the same bands.
Another personal recommendations i'll give you for bands that you may like are those:

I think you should try some Clutch. Some of the best lyrics, groovy hard rock. The best rock band in the world that most people have never heard of.
Spiritbox are amazing. Go with Constance, it’s heartbreaking. Or Rotoscope which is mofo funking groove.
It seems like a lot of your viewers request the heaviest stuff to you, even though if they've seen enough of your videos they should know it's not usually your taste. I appreciate your honesty about not liking certain songs. I'm all for seeing new band reactions on your channel though. I've recommended the band Epica before and I'm still hoping to see them on your channel one day. They have some ballads, like 'Tides of Time' and 'Canvas of Life' that I think would be a good starting place.

I'm happy that you're trying Spiritbox, but this is not a good song IMO. I would recommend Secret Garden, Blessed Be, Jaded, or Constance. You can hear how melodic Courtney's voice is in those ones. Don't let one bad song discourage you! ✌️🎸

This is literally the worst song to be introduced to Spiritbox. It's a meme song that was meant to be has heavy as possible.

Branching out is great, to my taste there has been far too much Slipknot and Opeth xD. Spiritbox however is a strange suggestion knowing which type of music you usually like here on the channel. In their earlier music like Holy Roller they are surprisingly different to mainstream (but one has to like that), in their more recent music they are simply dull.
Early songs from Spiritbox are a must go for the typical reactors because it is easy to be "shocked" when Courtney Laplante starts going back and forth between melodic singing and "male" growling and there are some impressive live sessions available that show her talent to do so.
Most commenters have suggested for you alternative songs from Spiritbox to try out which are dated from the later period, you should give it a shot to make your own mind but my guess is that this is not a band for you

Yeah, poor song choice for an introduction to this band. Better choice, for me, would be “Jaded”. If I had to pick a song to be the representation of what this band is all about, that’d be it. Grammy nominated, if you’re into that kinda thing…
I do listen to a lot of metal, but this guy sounds like this is going to be his last album. Sounds incredibly painful. Could be wrong, but I bet he isn't singing like this anymore.
You never listened to Ozzy or Metallica in your life? Then this music is not for you? Listen to some Hip Hop and rap then or Beethoven I guess. Maybe one day you would appreciate this kind of music for 2024!!! All other music for today is horrible!!! Hip Hop and Rap, R&B, Soul are wayyyy better pre-2010!!!! Even Rock and metal were wayyyy better pre-2010!!!! This genre of music literally is coming back to the mainstream. But I like underground music too. When you were growing up, you probably listened to a lot of country or easy music like N-Sync, Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift and Hanson Boys etc. LOL. Oh crap, you were getting abused by Holy Roller. Heavy, heavy, heavy! Imagine if your first Tool song was Ticks & Leeches? I get where you're coming from bcuz I banned the deth growl genre, either. The whole monotone deth growl thing was lazy and annoying to me. But I liked the harsh vocal in "Judith," by APC so I kept giving it a chance. Spiritbox is one of the few bands that can pull it off without building the entire song around one long scream--like this one.
Other reactors are just "nice." Maybe offer generic praise, "I can see why some people like this." And that's so much more painful to watch. Give it a few weeks. Cleanse the palate. Come back for Blessed Be or Constance or Circle With Me.
First time hearing this and anything about this band for me. Musically, this sounds nice and kinda catchy, just not enough to hook me into hearing it again and again. But the pretentious edginess is kinda cringe.
