- Can you believe that Flowtoys Podpoi have been around for a decade? When this prop dropped in 2012, it instantly changed the game. I want to take you through some of the history leading up to that product drop, why it was such a big deal at the time, and why the importance of podpoi has only grown since then. Podpoi have recently become very important to me once again as they have come to support a lot of my poi dance work in the past couple months, so I'm grateful to get to mark this occasion as I've fallen back in love with these props!

The first time i ever even saw pod poi i was at a edm show and a guy had some and i was so mesmerized, I pretty much immediately went on a mission to get some and i have loved them ever since. Drex you were a big inspiration and help in my journey learning poi so thank you!

I had my umoja flowtoys years ago in Ecuador and as a traffic light busker, things improved plus being the sensation everywhere with my lights (those things aren't as affordable here as they are there). It made me so happy sharing my art with everybody and not needing fire for it. Then, I got my podpoi on last December and after like 16 years I finally felt like the path to my flow. Like I finally got the missing piece I was looking for for more than a decade. Now I just need the new thicker rope and a couple of silicon shells to replace my umojas. Don't get me wrong, I like them but I'm more into the flow type. Podpoi just has this beautiful design that even the patterns look better. Btw, the traffic light pays more with pods than umojas. Sorry for the long comment, I just got emotional 🥲

I still remember when you recommend pod poi for me and I am still in love with them. They actually are really durable compared to the helix poi I bought. I got mine a few months ago and I have gotten so much better just by having using the right led poi and flowing everyday. They had so many modes and never had a poi with that many modes on one setting. They are not too light but not too heavy either, they are the perfect weight.

Pod poi are what first peaked my interest in poi. I had seen contact poi before but seeing all the modes and features of pod poi was where the wheels started spinning
Nice! I'm definitely not a modes geek myself but I appreciate those who are! Out of curiosity, did you ever find the secret hidden mode? A few years ago the folks at Flowtoys dropped that there was one and I've heard tell that some people have found it.

Outstanding! When I went to make this video I was actually curious if that set were indeed my first pair and I was shocked to discover they were. Still kicking a decade later!
I have some fond memories of my Flowtoys Streetlights. The main structure was basically two plastic caps friction fit to an acrylic pipe and the whole thing had the tendency to fly apart after a while ^^ Must have bought them in 2006-7.
I think that I sent them back to Flowtoys for a discount on my Podpois in like 2013 -ish. Fun to think back to how a "professional" poi show before the pods more or less exclusively meant fire poi. Nowadays I rarely see people spin fire, who would have thought that in 2011 :p

Still my favorite to spin with. I love my contact poi but the pods are just hands down the best in my opinion.
My1st experience with PodPoi was at a furry convention in Seattle in late 2012. A friend I was rooming with had a pair and I was so impressed that a few months later I bought myself a set. They have been my prop of choice ever since.
I've never had them before. I can't remember when I saw my first pod pois but I remember being shocked at how light they were. Definitely gotta get some to celebrate their 10 year anniversary!!✨

Podpoi were the first poi I ever owned, and I got them the year they came out. I benchmark my poi journey by their age. It's really surreal to have grown as an artist alongside them. I still have the pair, too.
I remember podpoi being my second set of poi, and it was amazing! I got my first set in March of 2015 and then I got my first set of handles in July of the same year. Honestly, the podpoi have changed my life. I've met some many wonderful people and gone on some crazy adventures with them. Here's to another 10 years Flowtoys!
one of the most infuriating things about the gen 1 flow lights was how hard it was to change the batteries. Those little plastic pieces that clipped in and out to access the batteries was so damn hard to get out.

I don’t like my podpoi. The strings give you blisters when you spin. The lights get ruined every 3 years. I will buy something else next time.
After years of juggling diabolo, I finally got my first set of poi yesterday! Was juggling diabolo in the park and a neighbor came up to me to say hello and it turns out he makes gorgeous handmade lotus poi 🪷 After a short conversation, I knew it was time to expand my flow and try something new. I was blown away when I discovered this channel, your videos are so inspiring and useful! Can’t wait to dive into the awesome world of poi. Thanks for all the helpful content!
