      i don't think anyone shoul attempt a lift with fear. It has to be 100% confidence. This is why forcing a PR is just dumb.
      There is no reason why to go very heavy on the powercleans as an athlete. Just use ~80% and going for speed and higher catche makes so much more sense.

    Nice video. Do you think increasing your top speed is the missing part of your max vert developm?

    • @calvinagran394
      @calvinagran394 Před 9 měsíci +1

      You don’t hit top speed in a two foot jump. Most two foot jumpers take a 3-5 step approach that’s nowhere near your top speed. Google Jordan Wesner he’s an elite high jumper with super good sprint speed and he can do crazy distance dunks but no one is jumping 55 inches anytime soon.

      Ours' Best Sciatica Hip Pain Preventive exercise which works super fine is at the stairs. Right or left foot is stable on the ground, First or second stair should support the back bone of the other foot. Both feet should be straight and you should start laterally pushing the wall with the lateral part of the foot which is at the stairs, pushing elastic band like. Hands are used for an additional support !!! Nothing else works better than this. After I started doing this exercise, Thanks God I have forgotten sciatica pain so bad, I could hardly stand from a chair. 4 sets X 30 each foot followed by relaxing walks, day 2 the pain should be gone. I recommend this exercise, only if there is hip pain, because it is a rehab exercise, not one which would increase your vertical.
      Thanks for the Great Video, Technically Would Save Ours` Knees and Increase Results Years Ahead !

    Your almost there for squat use what you can squat relative to bodyweight. Sprinters and jumpers are doing 1/4 and 1/2 squats. Sprinter Ben Johnson 500x4 at 190 bodyweight. Maurice Greene 500lb max at 175. Asafa Powell 585x3 at 210 bodyweight. Basically the maxes are 2.5 to 3x bodyweight. Rule of thumb is athlete should squat 2 to 3x bodyweight. The partials are favored because full squats tax the CNS leaving little to none left for your sports specific movements. Power clean should be around 1.5 x bodyweight. Body fat under 10% 6 to 7% is great for a sprinter or jumper 5% or less is hard to maintain and not a realistic and 10% is "fat"...

    • @dennisrobinson8008
      @dennisrobinson8008 Před 8 měsíci

      There are formulas to use for best squat and power clean for explosive athletes. For example 3x bodyweight is good for squat but 4x isn't necessarily better. On the power clean it's somewhere around 1.5 to 2x bodyweight is best. At 50.5" there is not much left to gain, but if the athlete found that they had a 2x bodyweight squat and 1.25x power clean perhaps they could gain by getting those numbers up without gaining weight.@@zacharypichette6772
