Thanks Colton for the clear concise video. Yes, keep them short and to the point.
Awesome, Will do!
Notification bell gang!!! Let know what you think of this awesome bed lift!
Love the video as is, no special effects, just your personal struggles and problem solving presented with useful insights. Still feels personable and enjoyable to watch. Great Vid, thank you!
Excellent Job!
If someday the bed lift stops working the 1st thing to look at is a switch failure, this design would typically use a relay that is rated at ≈160% of the TOTAL linear actuator current, the relay would replace the switch and you could then replace your bad switch with a switch that is rated for lower current. I know my description sucks but it is likely that the switch you used will wear out and if re-wired with a relay your bed design should last for thousands of up and down movements. Search for: "how to wire a full H-Bridge relay to reverse a DC motor".
Happy Vanning!
Interesting. Thanks for the insight!
Colton! We are wrapping up our van build this week! We truly would not have been to able to figure any of this out without you so thank you!!
Woot Woot Congrats!!!!!! Glad I could help!
I love the no fluff super informative style!
Love these videos. I watch em all the time when I need to do or learn something with no filler. Thanks again.
You’re welcome!!
love the simplicity of this "tour" video--
Thanks R.B!
Like your bed lift idea and much cheper thar the proprietory units
So much more room for activities!
Absolutely !
This simple and straight-at-the-point video is very cool. But I miss some on-screen data (i.e. measurements)
Thanks for the kind words!
Great Video, love the insights you give. Others have bed lift videos, but you expand upon it and bring new design to the table. Solid video!
Thanks dude!
This helps with the bed lift I want to build in our RV. Thanks!
I'm soooooo excited to find your video! It's clear and concise. This is what I've been imagining in my head, but to see it in real life is so helpful! I'm going to do this in my van build, but will try to find quieter actuators. Thank you again and again and again!
Stoked I could help :) welcome!
Ditto, same here.. I was thinking of banquet then raise, but thinking might need a safety latch on both positions, at bottom, maybe back shelf to stop, from bottom banquet
Thanks for sharing your build ideas!
Looks great. Gives me some good ideas.
Exactly what I’m planning if/when my Transit ever arrives!
The wait times are BRUTAL
Killing it dude! You must have a ton of people lined up for more builds!
4 more in the queue!!
I liked the video. Straight to the point.
Thanks Michael!
Always love your content!
Glad to hear it!
Great stuff as always...very informative and entertaining.
Thanks Richard!
I've seen a few and this is a pretty good one. Nice job.
Thanks!!!
Fantastic bed build! I've been considering the liner actuators for my bed lift so I'm grateful for this video, very informative. New subscriber.
Welcome aboard!!!!
Likewise
@@MrThewhip333 nice! Welcome !
Holy moly, that's a lot of progress!
Amazing bed design. It looks really sturdy and allowing air flow, very cool. Í spy some stuff in the front of the van that looks really interesting, too. What are you doing there, hmmm 🙂
And yeah, like, the style is great. The down and dirty style. I don't feel like you're missing anything by not having drone footage of whatever. The videography is still 👌
Hahah thanks!! The van tour posts next week! Glad you like the editing style
Awesome, simply awesome!!
Thanks Dennis!
Thanks for the detailed information.
You’re welcome!
Yes, thank u, doing research the long intro sometimes annoying, trying to watch many clips for 💡s. This is exactly what I thought on my mind especially after pricing happyjac & that other one, expensive & seems crazy to self install. I was just thinking of safety to cover actuators so if kids don't get fingers caught kids do things, I like your harness, I'm thinking wood outside case or maybe plastic.
Glad it was helpful!
Looks awesome! With these particular actuators, is it able to support sleeping when lifted in the high position? Thinking with a High Roof Transit it wouldn't be as tight up top if you wanted to have your fixed bed that high at times!
Excellent video. Thanks for the no BS.
Glad you liked it!
Hey, great video….THANKS!
No thank you Morgan!!
Cool system! I’m trying to build a contraption that operates very similar… I have a shoe box design that lifts straight up exposing the bottom portion of the box… I’m trying to build a hard sided pop up trailer, thanks for the clever idea
That sounds awesome! Good luck :)
good idea
Awesome!
Thanks for the video! I always FF past intros so I'm not sure they're worth the effort. I was wondering how sturdy the actuators are when up. I wouldn't think you could sleep with them up but hoping Im wrong. Good information on your videos, I enjoy them!
Thanks for the feed back! so the actuators can hold 240lbs each so I believe it could support the weight. but a few issues, if its all the way up, you don't have the use of the flare space, so really you only have 61"s of bed to sleep on. Also theres going to be a little bit of wobble when its all the way up. thanks for watching!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Just read this comment!
Thanks!
Thank you !
yes I like the new formatt
Thanks :)
Well done
Thanks Michael
Great video dude! Been looking at lots of camper bed lift system videos but never really made too much sense to me as there wasn't too much detail - but this has helped a lot!
One question I have which I hope you can help advise on is, with the bed in its raised position, are the actuators sturdy enough? I think I'm going to do something similar in my build, but I'm concerned that the actuators will sway if there's any movement on the bed when they're fully extended. Mine will raise all the way to the roof and so for when I'm driving, I'd like to trust that it's secure.
There’s going to be some sway in it when it full up. However you can attach a latch of some sort on the ceiling to secure it
Nice explanation of wiring the switch! It would not be obvious to cross the wires.
Nope! I was sweating when it wouldn’t go back down 😂
Looks awesome! Is it possible to sleep on the bed when it is not fully down?
Nice job
Thanks!
Very Coool 😀😀😀
Why not let it go all the way up to the roof, if they want a dinette someday?
Great build!
Because they want to sleep side to side and the van gets narrower as it goes up!
im looking for a builder who can install a bed lift in my transit..but haven't found one who is comfortable with installing those..go figure after watching yours ic why..ha..im looking to find one that can go all the way to the ceiling cause I have a paragolfer that sometimes sits in the bk of the van and im in a wheelchair so I cant do many types of bed setups..im really enjoying ya videos..
Good job, you have given good info that I will use on my build, like the no use of tracks to guide the bed but are you still happy with that? I don't think they have to be used but have no experience, thanks for making the vid!
It’s does wiggle at the full up. If you have a way to secure it up top it would be ideal
Beautiful van!! Do the actuators only go full up or down? Can you stop them half way and create a bunk bed like set up? I've seen a few other videos with beds on risers that used tracks on the walls, I assume to help keep the bed aligned. Was there any specific reason you did not go that route?
The actuators are 14”! The can stop half way. I used this method because it’s what the customer wanted!
good vid
Thanks!!
Can I level the bed by increasing the height at one side? For example when parking in a residential area on a 3 inch curb
Any lift symmetry issues? So all four actuators are spliced together just before switch obviously?
Maybe this is a silly question but (a) how do you keep the four actuators in 'sync' when going up and down (eg. so you dont have a corner lower or higher than any of the others and (b) do you know how the bed system has lasted over the last 2yrs?
I'm trying to put together the supplies to build a bed like this in our ambulance build. I'm only finding the relay/actuator controller for 1 actuator. What controller did you wire all 4 through? Thanks!
Check out my pre wiring video, I explain how I wired all of them together!
I must be missing something. What provides the lateral support t to the bed frame when it is lifted up?
how would I get the bed snug to the ceiling ? Longer actuators ?
You’d have to sleep parallel with the length of the van and I’d recommend some sort of metal C Chanel’s for support
Can you a link for the fuse box ? Or let us know which one you used?

Are those flarespace flares on the van ?
Yes sir!
Where did you buyActuators at
Liner actuators: @t Right here!
Would you have theLinks for bed building materials? Tks
They’re in the description!
What was the cost of the entire bed lift and parts?
Why no wall tracks with the actuators?
That’s just how the customer wanted it
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds I gotcha! Nice work btw
@@dmorrow6883 thanks!
Dimensions actionneur linéaire ???
Thank
The actuator goes up 14”!
That's nice but not recommended for the taller men I presume, I'm about to make it but I'm 6 foot 2 inches so I won’t fit

Heck yeah!

Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road. We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
Making a comment to make a comment... And I'm afraid I must be a child, I mean its just asking for it, can you make it go up and down faster for uhh... On the serious, did you think of this idea? I've seen this done before just not like yours which is well done
Hahaha that’s funny. It’s only got one speed lol
