    You are right. I have the exact same mower and it is bulletproof.

    I got both of the filters, but which one is the oil, and which one is the hydro.
    This video is the best video for maintaining this machine.

    Very good ,that jumping action is it caused by the hyrodulic oil levels needing bleeding

    Question I bought a Toro zero-turn mower it's it's the ss4225 or 5,000 I guess obsess anyway does not have any transmission add tank or filters or drain plugs it does seem to have a life aerating tubes coming out of the top of each transmission

    I'm thinking about flushing the hydro oil on my z255 as well.
    I was thinking about opening up the pump bypasses first then disconnecting the lines on the wheel motor like you do.
    Once I get everything I can out and hook them back up. Keep the bypasses open and do the filter etc. Add fluid then turn the wheel motors by hand and keep adding fluid as necessary then turn the by passes back. The system says 2.1 quarts but I don't want to mess anything up. Thinking about using toro hydro 500 fluid instead of mobile 15w50.

    Just did the hydro oil and filter change on my Exmark Lazer. I wish I cracked the lines like you did. I only got about a quart and a half out. Do you recall how many quarts you refilled it with? My steering was really sensitive especially going backward. I thought it was the steering dampers at first but I took one off and compared to a new one at my dealer. They seemed to have the same pressure. So I figured I’d change the filter and hydro oil. I used Exmarks hydro oil instead of Mobil 1. Exmark tech support said it has anti slip additives. Whether that’s true or not who knows. I may change the fluid again in about 100 hours and crack the lines like you did. I literally didn’t have to bleed it. The tires moved full speed as soon as I started it so I’m sure I left a ton of oil in there. It hadn’t been changed in about 800 hours though 😬

      I only got about a half of a quart when dropping the filter and draining the tank. It took just about 2 quarts total after draining the motors. Your mower might be newer than mine, because I think they have more fluid capacity. Even if you just repeat your process again its probably a sufficient flush.

      @@spankranchgarage that’s what I was planning on doing. Just repeating it in 50-100 hours. I’m definitely going the Napa filter and Mobil 1 route next time. The Exmark filter was $40 and 2 quarts of Exmark hydro oil was another $40. Changing the filter didn’t seem to do much for ground speed or sensitivity but at least I know it’s filtering the fluid better now. Mine is an ‘07 with just under 1200 hours.

    I have the same mower and I was always concerned about how noisy the drive motors are. After watching this your motors are just as noisy as mine.

    Why not just get a pump kit from harbor freight and suck the fluid out of the top?

    Great video! Our club has one of these and it needs servicing, left stick is very jumpy when engaging. Hopefully a fluid and filter change will help? Thanks!

      Check the dampening shock and it’s mounting hardware as well. They are designed to reduce jerkiness but sometimes the oil leaks out of them or the hardware gets excessive slop

    • @spankranchgarage
      @spankranchgarage  Před 7 měsíci

      They are ATV tires. I think they are 25" tall. It gave me a little more ground speed plus tons of traction and a smooth ride. They will tear up the lawn if you aren't careful however. I was tired of getting stuck and its almost impossible with these
