Should I fill the pump with hydro fluid prior to starting the engine after the rebuild?

So I watched the removal and was sooo happy that you got a tripod for vids 1 and 2. Your vids were perfect and I was able to remove and open the bad pump.
So for my question: The swashplate bearing was NOT intact. Ball bearings were all over inside. Do you know if that's an available part? And if so, since that happened is it worth trying to salvage the pump VS buying a new one?

Can you turn the valve body 180 degrees and point wheel motor hydraulic hoses the opposite direction?

  • @jmtoptierlubricants8357

Great video.I have a different problem .The release valve(The hex nut(plug) that you turn so you can roll the machine if you have to) leaks from the threads. I did not take the plug all the way out yet.Is there an o-ring on the end of the plug that can be replaced?

Hey nice video. Looks like the barrel of a .45 magnum pistol. Where do you get your rebuild kit and parts.

Hi.. just bought a secondhand Scag Wildcat which seemed to be in pristine shape. Got it home and of course it leaks :( It appears to be coming from the union of the top and bottom "halves" (quotes because I know the bottom is longer). I am hoping it's not the shaft seal because I'd hate to have to pull the whole thing apart already, but I noticed you didn't change the case seal. Do those tend to go bad, and/or is there any other special reason mine might be leaking from there? It did get bounced around a bit on the ride home, but nothing I wouldn't expect from regular work. Thanks!

hi, could you let me know please what is sequence of vents.
the pump is run by the oil moving into the pistons which turn the pully, or, the the pully is powered from the engine and it turns the valve block and pistons which up the oil persure.

Sounds like it needs a rebuild. Check the hydraulic hoses first, make sure there's not a pin hole in the hose or see if it's leaking at the fitting. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please like, share, and subscribe.

That removal of seal was painful to watch....couldn't you slide out with input shaft?
The worn valve plate has a mating part which needs replacement or re-surfacing to make a perfect seal.
