- We're in Surat Thani, a coastal city in Southern Thailand that's famous for HUGE clams, oysters and prawns. Our new friends, the Thai Navy SEALs invited us on a river adventure to see the local night fishermen of Surat Thani and we took a closer look at HOW and WHAT they catch in the dark waters of the Tapi River.

Curious to ask, if you were not there and had the opportunity to travel to Thailand right now, would you go? The media portrays a country closed with nothing to do, your vlogs show otherwise. your opinion matters to my plans.

Same, we’ve met so many lovely people here over the years. It’s actually a great time to be in Thailand because outside of the high risk areas like Bangkok and Phuket, the rest of Thailand is more quiet and beautiful. Beaches are pristine, water is clear, accommodation is more affordable … we could have left a year ago but we’re really glad we stayed and started venturing out to the less touristy cities :)

To be invited by locals is a treasure and dream of mine instead of being a tourist, I’d rather be a traveler well seasoned lol. This is more valuable to me than sites etc. Of course I’d LOVE to shop as well! 😁 thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏻❤️ PS. I was a server in restaurants in Sedona (gorgeous!) and people would ask if our seafood was fresh 😳 I always responded with ‘Do you SEE an ocean around here?!?!?’ 😝😝😝 we can get local trout-meh it’s ok. ❤️

My wife wants to know How do you ( Flora ) deal with bathroom situations? Very difficult to stay hydrated no?
It’s actually very convenient to find bathrooms in Thailand now.. the gas stations and coffee shops have clean facilities. Maybe in the countryside it’ll be trickier to find a clean toilet.. or maybe you need to pay 10 Baht 😅
