    Rome's level design is outstanding and horse mechanics are amazing for both ascending and controlled descents (yes, this was indeed a thing before Unity. In fact, the best parkour down mechanic was introduced in the first game of the series). If they kept ac1 vaulting in bh it would've been an absolute dream. Dude imagine all the combos you could pull off with back flips into vaults.

      Arguebly Rogue has the best parkour down with civilian tackling and easy to execute civilian air assassinations which were apart from that only in AC3 with precision mode. I'd gove the credit to AC1 for best atnosphere, almost best combat and best vaulting. Also its assassinations are only done better in Unity and Syndicate.

    I love brotherhood as much as the next guy but one of my biggest issues with it is that half the map is a Giant field with all most nothing to parkour on so you're forced to use the stupid horse. I mean the city part is amazing to parkour on probably one of the best level design in the series apart from Venice from ac2 but its just the second half that absolutely sucks.

      I don’t mind the country parts that much. They actually do try to make them interesting with horsemen, added horse mechanics, and interspersed villages, so it is actually more interesting than recent ACs in terms if traveling the country, but I get why you’d say it’s boring

    i'm currently playing assassin's creed syndicate and i just can't comprehend why the fuck i can't jump, falls that the character could clearly survive or jumping to grab onto a ledge on another building is just impossible, instead you either safely climb down the building or use the grappling hook...it's such a pathetic downgrade

    • @kinography9085
      @kinography9085  Před 2 lety +1

      Seriously, it sucks. AC parkour used to let you take risks and create new and efficient parkour paths that were never even intended. Now there’s an increasing trend of streamlining all of the depth away. Syndicate is especially egregious because it’s essentially completely baby-proofed. Even the recent rpg ACs let you make large falls

    • @kinography9085
      @kinography9085  Před 2 lety +3

      @@Mr_Sdp Unity was my first AC and it got me into the rest of the series. I loved it, but it’s objectively a heavily automated game. You can’t movement cancel, you can’t manually side eject, you can’t directionally catch ledge, etc. Unity lets you manually jump and that’s about it as for manual control, everything else is up to the game’s discretion, not the player’s. The reason why it doesn’t feel like this is because Unity has much more varied animations and much more complex world geometry which lets you interact with objects in consistently unique ways to get unique and varied animations. Otherwise, Unity’s movement is an unresponsive laggy mess with poor animation blending, very little polish, and very little manual control

    • @Mr_Sdp
      @Mr_Sdp Před 2 lety

      The parkour in unity looks amazing sure there are some animations that look weird but that does not mean Brotherhoods parkour better. People were complaining of every time they climb a building Ezio jumping Backwards while climbing and even when Ezio is climbing a building there will be alot of time that stop and go its honest its not that fun when it happand but when it does not happan its smooth like unity's parkour. Your even making things that don't even make sense and it sounds like your still that one of those people who make the same statements about unity like your stuck on unitys release people love unity now and you shoud too its not laggy like it used to bee and its the first ac game that added a crouch button blending. and if you still think that unity is a unpolished mess then you clearly have not played it for a long time.

    • @kinography9085
      @kinography9085  Před 2 lety +4

      @@Mr_Sdp When people complain of stop and go in classic AC parkour, it’s mostly because the mechanics aren’t explained well enough. For example, the back eject issue is caused because people hold High Profile and Legs to wallrun, and then continue to hold it even though it’s not necessary to do so, so if they accidentally release and press legs Ezio will back eject. It’s not because he doesn’t listen, it’s because he actually does listen, very well. If you want actual stop and go, I find Unity to be a great example, because as Arno is running along a non standing surface, he will sometimes randomly stop and turn around for literally no reason at all. Or if Arno is on a ledge and you want him to side hop, and it’s a distance at which he should be able to, he might just not do anything because the game decided he can’t. Also, Unity’s crouch is almost entirely useless outside of specific situations because it already has a cover system. If you watch any high level play of Unity, players who know what they’re doing will always go out of their way to AVOID crouching because of slow it is
