FWDs are usually considered less capable than RWD or AWD on wet and slippery surfaces. This shows up mainly in slower and more technical passages, where the front wheels have a hard time finding traction when exiting corner. The Hyundai i20 N uses a mechanical self-locking differential, which eliminates all these negatives of FWDs. In fact in fast passages it is even more dynamic than some more powerful RWDs. Controlling the car is very easy and feels predictable thanks to the differential, well-adjusted dampers and steering. In addition, thanks to the LSD again, this light hatch reacts sensationally to the gas pedal, which enables perfect control over the weight of the car. Conclusion? A limited-slip differential is absolutely necessary for sporty driving with FWD! - Sport
Toyota and Hyundai bringing back the romantics and nostalgia of the 80s and 90s hot hatches.
Compared to i30N this little beast was probably even more fun to drive for me. Great driving, as always :)
This is why i swapped out my type R for a GR86. driving a competent, fast FWD car is a really engaging but the speed at which you have to travel to have fun is just insane. At least now I can scratch that itch with some small slip angles at lower speed. nice driving though as always.
Yeah, that's what I thought - like so much more boring than a gr86 driving slowly... The gr86 you could also drive fast though
The type-r is soo much more stable than the i20N though, you can create lift of and tailbrake oversteer quite easily with this it's quite an agile and playful car
@kaankuruuzumcu3867 yeah good point. It's basically a road going touring car. Carries a serious amount of speed through corners. The rear end does come into play though, and when it does its beautifully progressive.
I do miss It's performance sometimes, but it's not designed to be playful. It's designed to demolish roads
Nicely driven :D one of my fav channels.
i recently bought this car! 6.4l on Highway, you can daily it too, trully versatil
Thank you for showing footwork
It's hard to beat a light weight and good handling car in terms of how much fun they are to drive.
Doug is the best car review channel on youtube and this is the best driving youtube channel.
American Veloster N owner here, I love the I20N it’s an awesome little car I wish we had it here same with the GR Yaris
Super!
Impressive driving!!
Well, you have me beat. Damn good driving
Little Ripper more fun than it's bigger brother 😊
Sounds quick, but when you look at the speedo.... 😀 Nice driving!
Fav car fav CZcamsr ❤
Absolutely awesome 😊😊😊
Damn you can drive man!
Would be great to see your video from Buchláky road as well 😉
Cool driving man, not gonna lie.
A ty meziplyny taky super, nechápu, jak to takhle rychle můžeš zvládat 🙂
nothing beats pocket rocket formula on b-roads
With a feet cam its the perfect vidéo ❤
cool left foot brake and heel and toe bro
Nice.
Konečně footcam
There should be a longer version of this video...
Surprised how fast that engine responds to throttle blip. Usually turbo engines struggle with that
Great driving.
Iam just curious about maintenance, how much does it cost you yearly for repairs?
and what parts of the car are the most susceptible to breaks?
Perfect car for blue Monday 😂
handbrake at 2:21 was to avoid understeer or for fun ? Hard to tell on camera but it seems like it was efficient, and I'm tempted to believe (though I would love to have your confirmation) it was used to avoid understeer and save time. Which is...a very impressive reaction to say the least :D
for fun, obviously.
yeah looks like for fun
i tried i20N i30N and many others, while on paper i20n should be the best i found it a bit boring to drive and especially sterring feel was really bad, while i30n remailns heavy but a very high level tuned car - so heavy lightened i30N should be a killer option, i ended up buying 208GTI BPS which is way more special to drive and have much more grip from stock, still did not tried the 308GTI which can be really awesome and bought an clio 172ph2 for more oldschool fun :)
I went from the 208gti 30th (which is basically the bps) to the i20n 3 weeks ago. Miss the seats from the pug and the i20n needs more suspension travel but loving it so far.
Great footage and great driving. It’s sad I only can drive automatic cars, otherwise the i20N or i30N would be something to concider.
The i30 N is available with an 8 speed wet DCT automatic and it's fantastic.
@@danlee3939 Oh, I didn’t know that, that’s interesting. I drove for years and years with a manual but my left leg is to disabled so I had to switch to an automatic😣.
i30n with DCT is perfect
@@peterlipowski8759 Thanks 🙏
Kona N is an option too
Anezing Drive
fun enough by only watching it
A limited slip diff is great, but it still doesn't reach the potential of a well-balanced rwd car with a limited slip diff imo (just responding to the vid description). However, fwd is great for pushing on unknown roads because of the predictable tendencies :).
Pit a well balanced FWD car with LSD against a similarly powered RWD car with LSD and watch the RWD get walked...
Maybe at low power. A car with ~60% of its weight over the rear wheels and RWD has the best balance of any 2wd car. It's just physics. Why do you think this is the formula for all high end sports cars? @@krazed0451
stiffer rear swaybar on fwd could help, no?
@@ShaiyanHossain Depends entirely on the vehicle. Some will absolutely benefit :-)
Compared to stock, almost certainly. Most FWD cars are set up to understeer from the factory for safety reasons. But while a rear swaybar increases your cornering limit (compared to stock) by reducing understeer, you will also have to be more careful with snap oversteer. @@ShaiyanHossain
where did you get this car
I wonder how this compares to the EK9.
Does this also have the same type of sound tone settings that the Elantra N has? If so what are your settings at? The sounds are fun haha
The Elantra N is probably closer to the i30N since they have more power
Yes, I was asking about the sound settings lol@@ulysses4989
anyone who tells you that FWD cars can't be fun simply isn't a good enough driver or doesn't know what a good road looks like. and i say that as someone who drives an RWD lexus IS every day. but i love thrashing about small economy boxes just as much. great driving.
What’s road location?
press REV button 😂
that is how you drive it.
I'm sorry. Yeah fwd can be really boring sometimes. Maybe you could have used the handbrake or something?
With this driver u dont need rev option anymore 😂
damn you use every manual trick in the book
Seem to have almost mo body roll
rev machine automatic in this car with n mode, what are you doing heel and toe? can you do this in sport mode ?
You can turn it off
Rev button is for those without driving skills, which is majority of hot hatch owners.
Doesn't seem as eager to rotate as his bigger brother
What country is this?
Czech republic
what tires???
Barum Polaris 5
nicely driver, but I wouldnt buy a car that u used to drive xD
My favorite car in forza horizon 4 🤗
is it me or does the brake pedal looks stiff as a rock
That's how most manuals are lol
Nemá to náhodou rev-match?
W-h-o-a
left foot breaking 💀
Mne vzdy pobavi tihle pozeri. A nejvic mne bavi to brzdeni levou v aute kde to stejne resi elektronika a k zadnemu odsazeni zadku diky brzdeni levou nedojde. Abs spojene s esp a dalsi elektronika to nepovoli.
V i20N a i30N jde elektronika vypnout. ABS ale asi ne, ted nevim z hlavy.
We never drive in open traffic... Car aproaching, better cut it to video from a different road
This car looked at a standstill and could of been a friend waiting at the end of the section.. still the cut is sus yes
@@aleeownz9132 I think that the car was normaly driving. I wonder how would they guard a road with so many side roads. They would need quite a big crew to do it. And for sure they are not driving on closed roads.
Geez, why can’t you mind your own business…
@@kudyss02Why would I? I am not the one driving on the road like this and claiming that is guarded and not open traffic, when it clearly is in open traffic. Wouldnt say a word if they have the ingtegrity to tell the truth and not lying about it.
Great yet very irresponsible driving behaviour - race tracks are there for a reason. Driving like this on a public street can and will bring others in real danger.
