- Here's a compilation of all the Disney and Pixar songs that were performed at the Oscars (aka the Academy Awards) between 1990 and 2018.
While most of the performances feature the original singers/voice artistes involved with the film, a few of the performances are pulled off by other singers too because of the inability of the original person to perform for various reasons (schedule conflict, lack of confidence etc.)

The "Golden Age" of Disney is actually an official thing and denotes the period between 1937 to 1942.
The 90s are officially called "Disney Renaissance".

Aladdin had 2 nominations and Lion King had 3 nominations. Disney music, particularly in the 90s movies, is amazing
Enchanted had 3 songs nominated also. They didn’t include SO CLOSE performance with John McLaughing

I wondered why movies lately don't have a lot of song nominations and read this:
"The Academy has forbidden more than two submissions per film ever since “Enchanted” hogged the category with three best song nominations, in what’s come to be known as “the Alan Menken rule.”"
Also apparently lots of movies avoid submitting more than one song for nomination to avoid splitting votes!
I have a lot of respect for Amy Adams that she actually sung that song herself at the Oscars. Usually, the actors don't bother performing the songs themselves.

Unbelievable sights , indescribable feeling.
The best thing about Phil Collins is that he actually recorded "You'll be in my heart" in a few different languages so all of us could have thus wonderful voice of his as part of our childhood memories.
I want the German version "Dir gehört mein Herz"(my heart belongs to you) a lot to my nephew and later my three nieces and my feral kitten that wasn't used to humans at all and I thought that hearing my voice would help her calm down just lile it did with my nephew when he was little. It worked and now she is 7 and the cuddliest cat of them all.
Not only did he record You'll Be in My Heart in different languages but I think he did it with all the songs he sang. In 5 languages. English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. That's talent

There were 3 songs of that movie nominated the video is mising one, the ballad from the Ball I dont remember the Name.

It's a shame Anika Noni Rose didn't perform "Almost There" for the Oscars in 2010, I saw her perform live in a Broadway show years ago and her voice was spectacular (as it was for Tiana).

They only perform Oscar nominated best original songs. And sadly, even "Reflection" was snubbed. "When You Believe" won that year, and other nominees are "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and "The Prayer".

I just love how they used to go all out with the productions of the classic Disney songs. Such great performances that really capture the essence of the films they were in and cement their legendary status in the Disney world.
The Disney Renaissance in the 1990s was just unmatched... especially Beauty and the Beast with Celine Dion!

Omg the Aladdin with Lea is amazing! And of course Elton John and Phil Collins LEGENDS. But everybody is admirable. They all deliver in a live performance, which is very hard.
I’ve only heard Auli’i’s performance at the Oscars among all these, so this was so interesting to watch :D Great video!
