Alport Castles 28,909 steps from Fairholmes and back!! Landscape Photography Peak District.

There is no easy walk to Alport Castles whichever way you go. So I decided to park at Fairholmes and walk around to Howden Dam and cut straight up onto the moor to reach Alport Castles on a very grim windy day. For some black and white photography. So join me in this video and feel the pain of the walk, and see what a dull grim day can deliver.

Hi Paul yes it has got loads more potential for a re visit. I watched your video which looked much safer with a group of people. Not a place to venture on your own maybe. No phone signal either so if you are there solo you could put yourself at risk. Thank you for watching.

Great vlog Craig. I loved it at Alport,just been the once, walked up from Howden and definitely needed oxygen half way up that steep hill. I’ll be going back to take in the water as well, I think there is a path left and down to go around the towers from where you took the first view of the towers through the gap.

Hi Drew, Thank you. A tank of Oxygen would mean more weight to carry 😂. Yes you are right about a path down my problem was the amount of weight that I was carrying and fear of losing my balance so for that first visit I stayed on the side of caution. Next time I plan to get there earlier for some morning light and will carry much less kit. Thank you for watching.
